What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

Looks like BTG is truly dead ####### banana. That pisses me off. We had plenty of quality content there I was hoping to keep even if we migrated elsewhere. What we'll do from here is follow up on the suggestions and offers in this thread lately to put up another board on our own site. So maybe we can make lemonade with these lemons and get motivated to get onto our site after this setback.
:X BTW, my offer of donating some of furley's money still stands. :goodposting:
pretty sure beagle could get behind this too.
We could all get behind donating your money.
Organized Chaos offered to help out a while back. I forwarded PM exchange to NG and TT. Any thoughts? I looked into it and it seems better than the freebie phpbb. Cost would be $5/month and well worth avoiding freebie phpbb.
I am talking to Chaos about it now. Trying to see if we can get the script from the old baord to load onto a new board. Also going to fully transition to a new site hosted by him, and will actually start using our real URL as The Beer Spot.ETA:

Please be patient though. The old site appears to have gone out of business, so getting the old script likely won't happen. Also, I have some family issues to attend to this week and into the middle of next week. So my access will be limited starting tomorrow I think. So a new board will have to wait until then. I'll do what I can tomorrow though, so maybe TT and Chaos can get it going in the meantime.
I have a big conference tomorrow, so probably won't be able to do much until tomorrow night. Might be able to do some stuff today if you can get the stuff arranged that OC asked us for.
I changed the nameservers to the ones he sent me. So that's been done. He said it might take up to 24 hours to fully happen. But it's ***Official***, the migration to a new home for the BeerThreadGuys is under way. We will henceforth be known as The Beer Spot though. So get used to the new name. We will also have to necessarily start from scratch this time. Which sucks given the volume and quality of the content. But it also gives us a chance to change anything that needed updating or revising.

Hopefully some time soon, The Beer Spot will be live. No clue when we can get the message board and stuff going but soon.
Obviously you forget about Gator's posts. :D

Wow, that was fast. The URL now shows the GRDT.net logo instead of being parked at GoDaddy. I've logged into the control panel, but will need to poke around to get a feel there. Might be a little while before I can get the things going.

Looks like you have already started doing stuff so I am going to leave it alone tonight. Gotta run some errands and I might have a little time when I get back to mess around with it if you don't already have it running.

WHO OWES BEER FOR THIS MONTHS BIRTHDAY BIF?

I think someone owes bax.

GD I miss BTG. ;)
Bax owed whomever had the June B-day. Might have been Kilgore or someone like that.

What was the amount set at for the Birth it Forward? I don't want to have to send too much beer to hack. Wasn't it around 4 12 ouncers or 2 bombers?

I want in on this, but I'm pretty clueless about what's going on. I just see lots of references to beer and trading, and since I have some Westvleteren 12 downstairs, I figure I am armed and ready to trade. :lmao:
iirc, you're in Europe somewhere?costs for international shipments are tough. that's not to say some of the fellers might not take you up on it. just something to be aware of.
Military APO address = same cost as shipping to NYC

Most of you probably know where to go. Bare bones is running. I won't be around most of the night to approve registration, but will catch up when I can.

"same cost as shipping to NYC" from where? from the midwest?i'm intrigued by this new information.

simsarge sent his second BFL box. It was torn up all to hell and one bottle exploded, but it was one I could get here anyways. Two Smuttynose IPAs were in the box. If I knew he had access to the best beer on earth I would have asked for a 12er.

Too lazy to take inventory. Having one of his Rogue Monk Madness.

Same cost as shipping to NYC from Europe. Duh.

And now this thread begins another slow descent into the depths of this board. Hopefully we will never be without our own board again. Rest in peace, Beer Thread.
