What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

How long does a growler stay good?
I've heard they should be good for about 7-10 days unopened. Once you crack the seal you should drink it within 2 days.
Well, I bottled another bomber of the Masala Mama when I sent the BIF beer on monday. I am going to let it sit for at least two weeks to see how it keeps. If it still tastes great, then I think that would be the best way to ship it going forward.
I'll let you know how mine turned out too.
OK, I had this earlier. Very good and very unique taste for an IPA, but .... it was nearly flat by the time it got to me. I'm not going to review it on BA just because I'm sure I wasn't getting the true experience.Just letting you know.
That sucks :hot: Going to have to find a better way to ship this.
Check on BA. There was a guy that shipped out the Plineys that he hand bottled. Somebody said that he used CO2 when he bottled? Maybe? Take this with a grain of salt, because I know nothing about home brewing. Either way, thanks for the Masala. It was still good and very drinkable.
That isn't a fair representation of the beer though. I must figure this out so that I don't make people think this is a "drinkable" beer.
 This is going to bother me until I figure it out.

Maybe I will try waxing the bottle.

Yeah, I know what you're saying. I could tell when drinking it that I wasn't getting the full effect. It was so unique tasting (in a very good way) that I wish I could have really got the full experience.#### it. I'm going to Minnesota. Got an extra room?

Come on in. We will make room for you. I will buy you a couple Masala Mama Cask Pints.

finally knocked out Winston Smith's St Bernardus 12 last nite

i have to say.. that's the best beer i have ever had. no joke. insanely smooth, very tasty. a little snappy on first snip but it was still way too cold... the last 85% of it was ####### great. seriously.

and at 10% it packed a wallop. that was the only bottle i needed last nite.

:buzzedbanana:
:banned: It's hard to imagine beer gets much better than that.

And, like you said, a 750ml of Abt 12, and you are good to go.
Nah. Try it on tap. :banned:  Between that and Andechs Doppelbock Dunkel, it's proof that the monks are closer to whatever supreme being may be out there. The counterpart Arrogant ******* and Middle Ages 10th Anniversary ales prove that there is a hell and it's a bitter, bitter place. Yin yang - it's all good.

W/r/t shipping draft beer, if the box is big enough, just send a whole growler. I've never had luck keeping carbonation when transferring from a growler - for small volumes, I just bring in flip top Grolsch style bottles and have the brewpub fill them. If the seal is good it's probably the best way.

I'm only allowed to tell you what I'm drinking as per my agreement with the FFA.

on tap?? where?
Mahar's in Albany has had it at least three times. 22 taps, six casks, and when it's on I may as well be wearing freaking blinders. Tomorrow they have an oak aged version of Middle Ages Wailing Wench, which is a sort-of-AB kind of beer.with a kickass label.

Well, I will be sending out two growlers of Masala Mama this week. Hope all works out better than it did bottling it.

Have you opened your bottle yet? Wondering if you got the same results.

Not yet. was going to wait longer, but I will probably crack it tomorrow now.

I think Rogue gets it right with their seasoned and spiced beer. They do not mask or cover the beer flavor.
Except for their Festivale. What a steaming pile that beer is. Tastes like a home brew experiment gone wrong.
I noticed this was on sale/clearance at the store last night. Now, I know why.

Maybe the bumpy truck ride did it in?

Only one way to find out.

Oh, and to get this thread back on track, I'm drinking one of my favorite beers in the world right now. Duvel. I love this stuff.

I'm only going to drink one BIF beer per day. The first one I drink. I don't want my opinion to be clouded.

Mmmm...Duvel. Can't wait for the holiday packs with 3 bottles and a goblet to come around again.

Duvel's a tasty, tasty brew.

The Stone RIS has died a happy death. Big, chewy, roasty/malty/toffeish. Helluva brew. Up next: long time favorite (check out my BA review for this beer on cask - no way a 9.5% brew should go down like an ESB, but there it goes!) Middle Ages Dragonslayer. :banned:

You sure you're not thinking of Chimay? I've seen Chimay three packs (white, red, and blue) with a glass, but not Duvel.

Definitely Duvel. I have two goblets from buying those holiday packs.

I'll look for it. I have two Chimay chalices for the same reason.

Yeah, probably. Ususlly I'm having too much fun drinking to bring up BA and review. Also my kids always run off with my freakling pencils. :hot:

Have, as of late, been working my way through a large number of bombers of my buddies home brew.

Red Ale, but almost more like an ESB. Not bad for a home brew, but not great.

Decided to pick up a 22 at the local store.

Had my sights set on Moylander (and got it), but saw that they had Red Rocket.

Had never tried one, but had read many positive reviews here, so I thought I'd give it a go.

Drinking it as I type.

Wow.

This is really, really, good.

Awesome balance, with huge flavor.

 Babysitter canceled on us late last night. We didn't make it to the beer bar! So I went out and bought some Left Hand Sawtooth ( ), Fuller's 1845 (some excellent stuff), and Allagash Grand Cru. I got some Macallan's 'Cask Strength' Single Malt for my birthday!!  Wild Young Billy= Happy Young Billy. :banned: :banned:

Abita Harvest. It is a strawberry lager they have never bottled before. It used to be at the Ponchatoula Strawberry Fest every year & that was it.

On ice with a lemon. Ya'll may think it's a little metro sounding, but me & the staff have killed 3 cases of it since monday. :banned:

I have never heard of that. It sounds like a benefit of living close to the brewery!

I just got home from work, and have to be back there in 6hrs and 20 minutes....at least I dont have to actually work, I just have to let the strippers in at 7 and lock up when they leave around noon.

So I just get to sit on my ### and do nothing for 4-5 hours....

So Im deciding whether or not to crack a bomber, or drink a 12ozer and go to bed.

Buzzsaw Brown Seasonal Ale - Deschutes Brewery

first time drinking it and would buy it again.  another top notch deschutes brew
I love deschutes. They don't know how to make a bad brew.
i agree. black butte porter and obsidian stout are my favorites form deschutes.
Agreed, especially on the stout. One of my favorite everyday drinkers is Mirror Pond. Great beer. I'm just glad I can get it here.

mirror is a little light for me but still a quality beer. only four hours from the brewery here so i can get anything they make.
It is light, but for a Pale Ale it's nice.Good to see another craft brew fan around. Stick around oregonbrewed.

Picked up 10 bombers of Arrogant ******* when I was in Gatlinburg yesterday. Drinking one right now :banned:
Where the hell did you find AB in Gatlinburg?!!!?!?!?!? Would have grabbed several when I was there a week or so ago on vacation. That said, the Smoky Mountain Brewery does NOT suck, especially in that area.
There is a liqour store on River Road that had it called Epifanio's. Only beer they had as a matter of fact (he said they usually have the Ruination as well, and even had some Double ******* when it was out, which suprised me). The Smoky Mountain Brewery was okay. Only had one beer there (my wife the Pale Ale, while I had the Bock), as we were bar hopping and liquor was the drink of the day. Not a great town for beer.
