What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

I used to be a big fan of Yuengling, before I started fooling around with craft brews. I tried it for the first time in at least 6 months, and man is it pretty bad. It also gives me really bad hangovers.

Rapp brewing's Chocolate Hazelnut Porter. Easily the best porter I've ever had. Easily. I don't even like porters, but this stuff is ridiculously awesome.

I was big into craft beer 6-7 years ago, then quit em for a while and Yuengling was my go to daily driver. In the last month or so I've got back into crafts (and mostly fresh brewery draft beer), and I had a Yuengling the other day...I was shocked how bland it tastes now that my palate is used to bold flavors again. That said, it still has way better flavor then Coors, bud, etc.

Anyone else love Abita? The Andygator is a staple in our fridge, but last night I got a sixer of their Amber and it is really good.

Yes, I will take Yuengling over a Bud or Coors, but hell if I'm going that route I'll just take a PBR.

River North Grand Unified Theory imperial witbier aged in Boulevardier cocktail barrels (bourbon, sweet vermouth, and bitter orange liquor). This beer was really unique and complex. I thought the bourbon and orange liquor flavors really worked well with the Belgian witbier character. River North has a pretty extensive barrel aging program, and they just purchased a bunch of cocktail barrels to experiment with. One of their next projects is a Belgian quad aged in Manhattan barrels.

Just got back from a trip to Napa. Owner/winemaker at one of the places we visited convinced my wife to let me go to Santa Rosa to the Russian River brewpub. Since the line was long I just got 3 PtE's and 3 Blind Pigs to go. They only had 3 PtE's left so I thought it was a lucky break after not being able to find any at 6 local liquor stores/Whole Foods.

Had one of each last night. Both are great.

When I used to get wasted every night to combat my insomnia I would pound three or four 40's of bud a night. I stopped drinking for almost a year and then would drink a couple times a month but only Guinness and Sapporo.

Last week I drank a bud and it was one of the most disgusting things I ever tasted. After getting used to good beer it just tasted like fermented urine. I cant believe its the most popular beer in america.

Does anyone really like that swill?

I'll only drink it if I'm at someone else's place and we're playing beer pong or something. Sometimes not even then. I've got no problem playing beer pong with a nice IPA or stout.

IPA is a hell of a drug

So my wife, at about 8pm tonight, said she saw a post on FB that Costco was selling Stone's Smoked Porter with Chipotle Peppers for $0.97 each. I call our local Costco, and they say they were sold out as soon as they put the sign up this morning. Bummer.

Well at 8:20 I decide to run down to Costco and check anyway (they close at 8:30). I make it there, and they let me walk right in (it was 8:32). I head to the beer aisle. And what do i find hidden behind some boxes... 8 bombers of the Smoked Porter waiting for me. Booyah!!!

Started my weekend with a Nola farmhouse Ale, ~7-8% ABV, 16 oz. It was very nice.

Hit the Nola Tap Room after my lunch at McClure's.

97 cents each?? Holy hell that's a steal!

Lil Sumpin is very good. That Shorts Spruce is like drinking a Christmas tree. That isn't a compliment either, it's atrocious.

Schneider Weisse Tap X Meine Porter-Weisse

Stillwater A Saison Darkly

Victory White Monkey (Golden Monkey tripel aged in Chardonnay barrels)

Lil Sumpin' or Lil Sumpin' Extra? The first one is good, the latter is better (about 1% more abv).

Just the regular one...they had a few other Lagunitas but I figured I'd try the standard one. I prefer to support Michigan brewery's but ill grab other stuff from time to time (like stone)

:kicksrock: good thing they only had 2 singles

Cigar City's 2014 Marshal Zhukov's Imperial Stout hit shelves today...many say its better than Hunahpu (which I haven't tried). Gonna pick some up at the brewery this weekend.

I think it is, but I actually hate Hunahpu. Zhukov is one of the best RISs in the world. Thick, chewy, and tasty.

Maybe you will like it, who knows. It is very highly reviewed on Beeradvocate. Hell, the "BeerBros" review guy have it a 100. I love hoppy beers, but the spruce was awhile different thing. Wasn't for me.

More Anchor Liberty Ale.

#### shtick and newcomers. Regular Anchor may be overrated, but the Liberty is why we have freedom in the first place.

Just drank 14 porters blind. Winners were Bells and Founders. They were in different sets though so can't pick between them.

After months of looking for it in NYC, I finally found some Shiner Ruby Redbird in the North Shore of Long Island. The ginger flavor was much stronger than I expected, but since I usually enjoy drinking Dark and Stormys on much nicer beaches than what is here, it was welcomed.

I wasn't planning to go hunting for Beer Camp, but saw the 24 at Costco yesterday for $40 so picked one up. Costco is doing a great job with beer these days. About 20 different 750s and 22s, all about 1-3 bucks less than the best price I can get at my bottle shop.

$40? I thought they were going for $20-25?Eta never mind, I was thinking of the 12 packs.

Not posting much but drinking too much. Big fan of the Lil sumpins. They've been on sale $7 a six pack and I've been good for a couple of those a week. Not to be tasting note dooshy, but I love the smell of a just opened bottle.

I've been through a dozen or so first time tasted micros with nothing stands out but PranQster from North Coast Brewing. I put it side by side with Delirium Tremens (a favorite) and not sure which I prefer. It's really friggin' hot here in the desert so I recommend it very cold in a chilled glass. Nice.

Anyone been watching Beer Geeks on CBS. I just caught it for the first time this morning. They toured the Sam Adams brewery.

No but I've been watching Brew Dogs on the Esquire network. Last episode I saw they did a collaboration with Sam from Dogfish Head. Pretty cool show.http://tv.esquire.com/shows/brew-dogs
History Channel has a new show called Dark Horse Nation. It's basically Duck Dynasty with the owners and workers of Dark Horse brewery. They are in Michigan and make world class beer. It's also an awesome place to visit. The show kind of sucks IMO. I have no interest in guns or ice fishing. I would be a lot more interested in seeing them make the beer and manage the pub than shoot rifles.
