What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (1 Viewer)

Just poured my last Brew Bus Last Stop IPA, and I haven't seen any in a while...I hope they brew more soon, its one of my favorite locals.
I liked that one a lot too.Oh that reminds me I still have that oak aged jai alai. Next!
Sweet, just called CCB and they have the Last Stop back in stock...which means it should be back in stores soon if I can't get to the brewery.Driving up to Charlotte next weekend, gonna pick up a bunch of Hop Drop and Wicked Weed beers, as well as anything else cool I can find.
Wicked weed is another I haven't had. Not saying, just saying.
LolMost bottled WW beers are sours I believe..I'd love to find their Freak of Nature DIPA on tap somewhere.

Also just found a couple bottle shops in SC I'll be stopping at, they carry Foothills, Westbrook, Victory, Lagunitas Sucks, Coast, and other stuff I can't get here...
Found that in a 32oz bomber a couple of weeks ago for 4.99. Love that beer.

Meh....keep the sours.

Like Hawks64 said, Sucks is all over the place here in 32oz bombers.

Make sure to get DirtWolf. Victory's citra IIPA.

If you can't find it let me know, I will send some your way. Maybe a BrooDoo too.

Saugatuck Neopolitan Milk Stout. Honestly, this is one of my favorites. It's just so freaking delicious. Is this available outside of Michigan?

I can get it in Chicago and had totally forgotten about it....need to go find some this week/weekend.

Went to get some Jai Alai and found my local store carries Victory...picked up a single of Dirt Wolf and Storm King...then noticed 2 bottles of CCB Zhukov just sitting there so I had to grab em...you jutt dont see them sitting on shelves...couldn't believe it. Apparently they were holding them for someone who never showed up to get em. Score!

Grrrr..one of the cans in my 6 pack of JA is a short fill...dammit...I've never seen that with this beer. Maybe it had a small leak...

Victory DirtWolf...I like it, the malt sweetness isn't overpowering like a lot of DIPAs. I like the hops to be in the forefront, and they are in this one. Thats the one thing about most DIPAs that keep me from going back - too much sweetness, which is why I prefer IPAs over doubles. I may pick more of this up.

At Cigar City sampling a cask Choc Peanut butter porter, a tangerine IPA, a mango sour, a cask orange peel pale ale, a spiced mango sour, a tropical ale, and Citra pale ale.

Those sound really good. How's the Chocolate Peanut Butter?
It was OK...nowhere near as good as Rapps chocolate beers...also tried a Dunkelweiss that was surprisingly good, and a Gose that was pretty good. CCB is killing it in their tasting room right now...I just wish more were available in growlers.

Seems Ive been drinking solo lately...lol.

Cigar City Guayabera Pale Ale - pretty damn good. Pretty much Citra hop juice, they must have dry hopped the hell out of this.

Not today, wife brought home some Founders Harvest Ale. Will be drinking a few after dinner.

I am in an area without a good selection of craft brews. Looking for some recommendations for a good October brew from one of the nationally distributed breweries, like New Belgium, SN, Sam Adams, etc. Or should I just go grab a bottle of bulleit?

You could always grab some Weinstephaner Dunkelweiss or Ayinger Celebrator Dipolebock...both are world class and always welcome in my fridge.

By the way Wingnut, I just found the CC Octoberfest at the bottom of the box. Finally got around to getting rid of some of the packing materials and found it. Thanks again.

Must find!
Binny's had it in the back, none on the shelf. Limited to one 4 pack. Starting to really hate Binny's and how they limit everything, I am going to have to call my local shops tomorrow. And good luck on your search!

Lmao! I always empty boxes when I get em, you never know what might be hiding at the bottom...plus I like to keep all my packing material in one box so I can always find it when I need it.The CCB Oktober is nothing special but it was limited and available so I bought some to add as extras in trades.

Just noticed I've rated 41 beers from Cigar City on BA, and there are several I've tried and not rated.

What brewery have you tried the most beers from?

I know the Binny's in Lincoln Park allocates - but they have to.

Off to Greenbush to see what they are offering on tap.

You know what's strange about Florida - almost no breweries make DIPAs. Florida is all about Pale Ales, IPAs, session IPAs, Weiss beers and of course Stouts.

Most breweries will brew a DIPA sometimes as a one off, but I don't know of any brewery that always has one available. I think its because of the weather, nobody wants to drink big beers in the heat. Seems the only reason everyone brews stouts is because there's always a demand for them.

That's funny because I don't find DIPAs heavy or big, yeah lots of alcohol but not something where it isn't refreshing. When I think big I think of heavy cold weather beers, like Porters and Stouts.

For me most DIPAs seem to have a lot of malty sweetness, which tends to somewhat mask the hops, even when its a balanced beer. I pretty much only like DIPAs when its cold out unless its one I've traded for or never tried. When its warm/hot, I want beers with hoppy crispness and lower ABV so I can enjoy more than a couple.Porters are pretty common down here though, not as common as stouts but way more common than DIPAs.

Odd, most of the DIPAs I have up here are super hopped palate wreckers. Not a ton of maltiness, but I have had those just not a lot. But like you I prefer my IPAs and DIPAs very hop forward, prefer more citrus hops, and low malt.

:lmao: It gets in the 20s here at night in Jan-Feb (sometimes) with highs in the 40s during the days...on those days I welcome high ABV beers. I'm not a huge porter/stout fan but I can deal with em when its cold chilly outside.

Can't wait to drink my CCB Good Gourd and Three Palms Palmkin on thanksgiving...I'm hoping its a bit nippy out.
