What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (5 Viewers)

I'd love to get my hands on some New Glarus Rasberry Tart. If anyone has easy availability and wants to set up a trade let me know.
New Glarus is plentiful around here. I'll see if I can dig some up. Where are you from? What do you recommend?
That'd be swell. Heading to Brewery Ommegang tomorrow. Also have Troegs and Southern Tier readily available (both have some HQ stuff).
Picked up a 750mL of the NG Raspberry Tart for you tonight :banned:

Chimay Premiere that my bro-in-law so kindly left in our fridge last night when he was babysitting. Will follow it up with dinner, some Geyser Peak sav blanc, and a nice spliff.

What comes in the Great Lakes sampler? Tough to really go wrong with them
Elliot Ness, Burning River, Edmund Fitz, and the Dortmunder Gold. I think they're all grade A beers according to BA.
I'm not really a huge fan of the Christmas Ale...those ones are all quality though...
The Christmas Ale is a seasonal. The beers mentioned above are all from the regular line.
I know...

Wow, I just saw this. PM comin'....

I'm trying to expand my beer horizons, thought I'd post here.

Generally I lean towards the major Canadian Red/White/IPA's (Rickard's Red/White/Pale and Alexander Keith's IPA/Red/white). One of these is always available on tap here, and I prefer them to the standard Labatt Blue/Molson Canadian, which in turn I prefer over the American standards (Coors, Miller, Bud, etc...).

At pubs I've always tried to order something different but never really paid much attention, I'm going to change now and try to actually learn about the beers. In England last year, I tried a dozen different mainstream european beers and ended drinking Staropramen for the most part, so I'll pick those up fairly regularly as well.

I'm also a big fan of Creemore Springs Premimum Lager. A search the other night led me to BeerAdvocate, where I found that most of the mainstream American/Canadian lagers were in the "D" range, the Rickard/Keith's that I drink are in the "C" range and the Staropramen/Creemore which I really like but can't always find are in the "B" range, so, I guess now I'm thinking I like the better beer better than the crappier beer and I should try to find more better beers.

Tonight I picked up a sampler from McAuslan Brewing - 3 each of St. Ambroise Pale Ale, St. Ambroise Apricot Wheat Ale, Griffon Rousse and Griffon Extra Blond. I went with the sampler as a way to try a few at once. I almost picked up a 12 pack of one of the Unibroue (La Fin Du Monde, etc...) but ended up going with the McAuslan for the variety. Plus, I'm watching the Canada/Russia game and I'm not sure I want to 9% alcohol tonight.

The Canadian craft beers are pretty easy to find and not particularly expensive, so I'll probably make my way through a bunch of them to start off.

I was in Puerto Rico and Santo Domingo last week and I came back thinking how lucky we are in the states to get so many good brews just down the street. No matter where you went in Puerto Rico it was either Medalla Light (they don't have a non-light Medalla :lmao: ), Presidente, Corona or Heineken. The best I could find was Sam Adams in a grocery store but that was it. Not one place I went to had anything even close to something I wanted. And the residents of these places don't seem to care! They are perfectly happy in the Dom Rep gulping down Presidentes. I've never seen a beer company advertise like they do. Presidente is plasterted EVERYWHERE!!!

Thank you sweet land of Massachusetts where I can go down the street and get my beloved Geary's Pale Ale or anything else I desire.

And at most bars they are the 8-10oz bottles (can't remember exactly).Did you happen to go to my old second home, El Batey?

Bud Select, followed by Heineken, followed by Dos Equis, followed by Killian's Red, followed by Amber Bock, followed by Guiness, followed by Dogfish Head IPA......

Why isn't my stomach feeling well now?

:lmao:I haven't been in this thread since then and completely forgot. My bad. PM sent

La Fin Du Monde

I'm giddy with anticipation
Just picked up a bottle of this tonight but probably won't get to it 'til Thursday. What'd you think?
Was good but not something that knocked my socks off. The beer itself was fine but the smell didn't agree with me. Maybe I had a bad bottle  Almost a sour smell to it, every time I'd take a pull it hit me in the face until it was what I was thinking about more than just drinking the damn beer.

Alrighty then...what can the beer folks on here tell me about Deschutes Brewery?

I am about to get some Jubel 2010, Mirror Mirror, and Black Butte XXI.

Comments? Concerns?
