What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

I had an ice-cold Bud Light Lime in a can the other night at golf for the first time and I loved it. :) I realize summer is almost over, but who else makes something like this? I've had the Lienenkugals summer shanty and it tasted like country-time lemonade (too sweet/strong) and Ive had the Sam Adams Summer brew which has a hint of lemon, but really isnt all that noticeable. Anything sorta in-between out there for a hot summer day?
The local independent baseball team around here has a god awful selection of beers. But since I have to make a choice at some point I choose Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy. It's crap beer with lemon flavor in it.Link
upon further review, BLL is only good when its a thousand degrees outside and you have a raging case of cottonmouth. ;)
I totally glossed over the fact that you already stated you tried Summer Shandy when I made my post. Sorry about that.

What happened to the BA locator? That was my favorite feature on that site. It was there last week. Now just gone. Am I just missing it somewhere? :headscratch:

Here's one that might be a first in 291 pages. My GB Brit brought this back from Bastogne, Belgium and sent it to me along with a small ceramic helmet that is used to drink it. I'm guessing it was brewed it local, not bad stuff. Thanks Brit!

that New Belgium glass is my go-to drinking glass
Been wanting one of those for quite a while now. Went to a local restaurant that has a decent selection of beer and I knew they had them there so I (at the direction of the waitress) procured a glass on my way out. Love that glass.Same bar last year I adopted a Chimay glass. They like us there.

But, New Belgium doesn't make an aged IPA.

Just loaded up on the Unibroue combo of Don de Dieu, La Fin du Monde, and Trois Pistoles. Kids are finally asleep and the Don de Dieu is out now. This stuff is seriously wonderful. Glad I found it.

I've been really digging the Oktoberfest at BJ's Restaurant and Brewery... it has a nice flavor but none of the bitterness other hoppy beers have. It's only a seasonal beer, so do you FBGs know of a comparable beer I can get year around? If it helps anything I live in the East Bay Area, CA.

Love Oktoberfest beers. Seems what you're liking is the sweeter malt taste versus the bitter hops. You can probably find some sort of marzen beer for a good part of the year. Something kind of similar might be an amber beer.

Sounds good. Any specific suggestions?

Really no idea what's out your way, but Paulaner brews their marzen year round. And it's really good.
