What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (4 Viewers)

Flower Power thanks to the Task Man. Not as hoppy as most West Coast IPAs. That's not a bad thing. Very tasty. Reminds me of something I can't quite put my finger on.
:lmao:Drink the Horseheads IPA soon too. Double Wench will hold for awhile and LeBleu will hold for a long time.Make sure to mix up the LeBleu before you drink it. The blueberries tend to form a sediment at the bottom...if you want an even flavor, mix it. Otherwise it'll be super sour on top and real blueberry sweet/sour on the bottom. Unless that's what you want.
I'll drink the Horseheads tonight while catching up on Champions. Don't forget to let me know what I owe you.

Finally made the trek to Alpine today. Was a lot closer than I thought. I'll be back soon. Growler prices are so cheap. Had:Willy Vanilly: Their wheat "Willy" brewed with vanilla. Very vanilla which I generally like. This would be fantastic with pancakes or french toast. Irish Red: Have had this before. Thought it would go good with my lunch. Not my favorite of theirs, but solid. Great '09: Their Barley Wine "Good", bourbon barrel aged. Super bourbon, yet super smooth. Cez Monmee: Cherry Sour. Fantastic. Touch of sweet, very tart. Got better with each sip.Ugly: This was cool. We were about to get the check and they hauled this keg in. Never been tapped before. First batch. Black IPA. A friend of mine hauled it in so poured me some. Amazing beer. Super hoppy on the nose. It is black, but it does';t taste like it. Just a hint of roast. Lets the hops do the work. Best black IPA I've ever had. Made it my growler fill. Afterward got a little tour of the tiny place. Crazy how small it really is. Great people working there. Pleasantly surprised to see they were selling bottles of "Ichabod" A sour with pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Heard very good things. Grabbed a bunch of bottles. Got one for you if you want it, Task.
Are they in SD? Where?

Is this thread a contest to find the most obscure beer possible?

Anyway, for me I already miss October. Definitely the best beer month of the year. All of the pumpkin ales and hitting the many Oktoberfests in my area (from Cincy, so there are plenty).....it's like heaven.

For me, I'm a Sam Adam's guy through and through. I enjoy a nice microbrew when it's available, but Sam puts out such a good variety of seasonal brews that it always keeps me happy. I already miss Octoberfest, but ready to head to the store for some Holiday Porter, Winter Lager, and Chocolate Bock (among others  ).

ETA: Anyone had the Old Fezziwig Ale? I've heard good things, but yet to give it a go.

Must not be fresh. :lmao:
I bought it ~a month ago? Took some time to assemble the package and a whole week to ship it cross country....Not sure how fresh it was, but it tasted fine to me...
just busting balls. IMO... Flower Power is the best IPA when fresh. This comes from a guy who thinks west coast IPAs are the best, hands down.Flower Power >>> Two Hearted

They're in.... :drumroll: Alpine! I was surprised at how short the drive was from the coast. Think I got there in under 25 minutes. Closer than Stone. Real tiny place. Good BBQ Pub as well (also really small).

Bought that case of FP in PA last month. Was in a hurry so I didn't check the date...not really sure if it was on the outside of the box anyway. Best by: Sep 30, 2010 :XStill ok, but definitely not fresh.

So pretend I recently discovered that I absolutely love IPAs. I've had the Latitude 48, Sierra Nevada Celebration, I'm drinking some Stone right now... a few others that I can't remember. What should I be looking for when I hit the liquor store tomorrow?

As much as I try different beers, I always think Long Trail Pale Ale is the best beer in the world every time I have it again.

Sierra Nevada stout not fancy but solid!

Loaded up the car for T-day beer:

SN stout

Port old viscosity

Brooklyn Chocolat

Southern Star buried hatchet stout (damm good stuff)

Great Divide Yeti stout

Where are you located? At the very least, I'd try Bear Republic's Racer #5 since I think that's available everywhere.

Big Long Trail fan here, but never been a huge huge fan of that one. Have you tried their other stuff? Brewmasters' Series is superb. Double Bag is a great beer from their normal lineup.

Sometimes I get in real antisocial moods (for dealing with real world people not you all who are likely just manifestations of my own insanity) and I like to sit home watch movies and drink...probably too much.

Tonight so far the drinking menu has been Lightning Brewery American Amber Ale, Stone Brewery Cali - Belgique IPA and now Mission Brewery IPA. Everyday I am grateful to be living in the beer and good weather capitol of America.

Just finished watching Touching The Void and am about to kick off How To Train Your Dragon. Sometimes I wonder how my imaginary girlfriend puts up with me.

ETA: Working on Ale Smith IPA...good stuff.

ETA2: Corona Mermaid's Ale, watching Will Ferrell - You're Welcome America
Ballast Point Big Eye IPAYeah this is probably a mistake. I apologize in advance for every post I make from this point forward.

Sly Fox Route 113 IPA here. ####### awesome, even though I don't know why they only sell it in cans.

Anyone in the Philadelphia area needs to hit Capone's in Norristown. Just found out about it and they have a great selection of six-packs and singles (which is an unbelievable rarity her in PA, for those who don't know). The owner is super passionate and will order anything that you are looking for.

They sell it in 22 oz bombers here.

Anyone try Michelob's Winter Cask Ale? I had this last night and it was a very nice beer. Vanilla flavor with a hint of bourbon. Tasty...

In laws nice enough to bring 2 twelve packs of Fat Tire down to Tampa. It's not available down here. It has been a while.
