What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (8 Viewers)

As custom the kids left beers for Santa, finished a Grand Teton Lost Continent, next up a Capital Brewery Autumnal Fire finished off with a New Glarus Coffee Stout.

What are you fellas breaking out over the weekend? Christmas night isn't a big drinking night for me as I have to drive, but tomorrow sets up perfectly....I think I'm going to go with - Mikkeller Barrel-Aged Black Hole (Cognac Barrel), Russian River Damnation Batch 23 - courtesy of Sebowski, and either (or both) Lagunitas Sucks or Founders Breakfast Stout.
One of my dad's patients apparently owns a local beer store and gave him a bottle of DFH 120 as an Xmas present to share with the family after my dad talked to him about all of the beer I buy and/or trade for. Needless to say, I didn't make it to the Mikkeller

Last night was NG Black Top. $7.47 a sixer at the local Walmart is tough to beat. Oddly enough, the only place I could find it. Was hoping to score some Road Slush. No luck.

Wine tonight.

Again, no luck on the Road Slush. I was able to grab some Central Waters Brewhouse Coffee stout though. And as much NG Black Top as I could find.

so ipas are my favorite beer. like the hoppy bitterness and higher alcohol content. big fan of stone ipa, arrogant *******, ruination etc. also big fan of dogfish head ipas. any other suggestions?
2 Hearted, Pliny, and Racer 5 are 3 of the best I've ever had. I also like Surly Furious (only available in MN) and Ithaca Flower Power as two of my other favorites. Lagunitas Hop Stoopid never fails to impress me either for 22 oz bottles. Also, Sierra Nevada Celebration is one of the best seasonal IPAs and it's out now. I've been working on a growler since yesterday.Keep an eye out for Troegs Nugget Nectar, it's probably going to be released soon, it's usually a January thing. Might be my favorite beer on the planet. Perhaps it's not quite an IPA, more like a really-hopped-up amber, but it's just awesome.
Judging by the bees you listed I bet you'd love Red Racer IPA. Comes in cans. LOVE the stuff.

Sierra Nevada Life and Limb. One of the top beers I've ever had.

Put every other beer I had this weekend to shame. Limited run, we only got 30 down here on the central coast.

After a long day of year-end stress at work, I found myself in a high abv mood tonight and finished three quads (2 New Glarus ABTs and a Weyerbacher) and am now eying up the Three Philosophers and Kasteel Donker bombers in my cellar ...

Tried an Innis&Gunn Oak Aged Beer yesterday. Aged in rum casks. Pretty damn good. Sweet like a Newcastle, but not too sweet. Really, really good. would order again.
I'm drinking the original version now, I like it.
The "cask" version was ok, but not as enjoyable. They are both advertised to be made from casks but the "cask" version is about 2-2.5x the size, not sure what it was but didn't enjoy gulping the rest of it down.

Terrapin Monk's Revenge - phenomenal beer I just discovered, highly recommended if you can find it.

Troegenator Double Bock - forgot how much I liked this beer, another top notch brew.

Southern Tier Choklat - saw a bunch of Southern Tier stuff at my regular beer stop and this was the most highly recommended by you drunks so I'm going to give it a try.

If all goes well then I finish off with some Cold Mountain Winter Ale but I only have two bombers left of this stuff and it is tremendous, hate to run out. Another highly recommended brew. Highland Brewing doesn't put out anything that moves my dial but this stuff is just best. Fell in love with it and then found out how hard it was to come by. Saw it again and got three bombers.

Molson Canadian... second night in a row. It's really growing on me.Canadian beer has more alcohol than U.S. beer, yes?
vs. what? Lite, bud light? then yes. Lot's of craft beers here in the states with 6, 7, 8 + ABVs

Why is Firestone Walker always on sale?

Every time I'm at the grocery store this is always the best deal for a decent 6er. Either DBA or Pale31. Solid, and always ~$2 cheaper than the others.

Shouldn't be any reason other than it might be older, but let's hope that's not the case.

They don't discount for old beer. Anything past a month(iirc) they replace with fresh stock. 17> is it a true "sale" or are they just always cheaper?

1 Red Racer then I'm out of the combo of Red Racers and Flower Powers I bought Friday. Slim pickins' after that. G/f got some Shipyard Pumpkinhead which is tolerable. After that its :gulp: Land Shark my father left on Thanksgiving  .

I did Eclipse Buffalo Trace, Eclipse Brandy, and Grand Funk Ale Road last night. All were fantastic. GFAR was ####### amazing. I need to track down a few cases of that stuff.

I restocked the other day right in time for New Years and the bowls with a case of Storm King Stout, a case of Celebration and I picked up a Duvel gift pack because I had never tried Duvel and it came with a cool glass. The beer guy in my local shop on the way from work has always given me some good tips and knows I like stouts. So he says, "You have a lot in your cart, I have one bottle of Founders KBS 2011 batch left if you're interested."

So I had my first KBS on NYE and it was magnificent. My new top beer even if I'm resigned to only having it maybe once a year.

Said beer guy is in NJ and has never had Bell's Expedition Stout, so since I live in PA and have access I may bring him one as a thank you for the KBS.

Be on the lookout for the new Sierra Nevada Rye IPA. This is supposed to be good, especially for those of us who like rye in our beer.

Will do. Not sure if I like rye especially but I like anything from Sierra Nevada. My place seems to carry all of their brews.

Is this going to be a $10 wax dipped deal?
I think it's just replacing their spring seasonal, Glissade. So it should just be the same price as SNPA and Torpedo.I'm excited. I haven't had many rye beers, but I love Sierra Nevada and I love rye in my whiskey. Also heard SN is coming out with cans for SNPA and Torpedo. Great news.
