What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

Rogue Dead Guy AleNice, I like it. Kinda malty and sweet. I don't know anything about Maibocks so I looked it up. I've had Sierra Nevada Glissade and remember really liking it. I know Smuttynose and will give that a shot. What else?

Glissade is a good one for domestic maibock, but I think Sierra Nevada unfortunately discontinued it in favor of their new Rye IPA. Dead Guy is one of my favorite beers, but I don't know why they call it a Maibock - actually, I think the label says its a "Maibock style beer", which is confusing because the name of the beer is "Dead Guy Ale" and they use their proprietary ale yeast - Pacman - to brew it. If you can get the maibock from Capital Brewery in Madison, WI, that's an excellent beer and may be one of the best you can find outside of Germany. If you really like the Dead Guy, a somewhat bigger, maltier brown ale that is one of my favorites is the WTF from Lagunitas.

Thanks, I know Lagunitas is fairly common around here, I'll look into WTF but the label doesn't look familiar. Capital doesn't look familoar at all but I'll keep my eyes open for it. How is Flying Dog Brewery. I noticed a full line in the new place I found. I've only had Raging B*tch so far.

It was one of the first ones I tried years ago when I decided to try different brews. Might have been in Portland, Maine.

I like Flying Dog. Raging B. is a great beer imo but I think the Belgian IPA's are an acquired taste that doesn't appeal to everyone. I've also had their imperial porter and their pale ale - both are very good. And the Steadman labels are cool.

Have not had that yet. I was surprised to see Lagunitas in a Wisconsin Pick N Save so I grabbed it. For $5 a bottle it was fantastic.The more I read about them I will be on the lookout. Good beer
