What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (10 Viewers)

Bryggeriet Djævlebry Gudeløs Imperial Stout.

"Danish: Bryggeriet Djævlebryg and the Danish Atheist Society have entered into an unholy alliance and the result is "Godless": This first batch is a somehow accessible imperial stout with its 8.9% abv. It offers burnt notes from the malt mingled with sweet nuances and a warming depth from the alcohol. This brew is primarly aimed at members of the Atheist Society, but it will also be available in selected shops and bars. In these times, when companies are expected to show social responsibility, we in the brewery have decided to follow suit: For each bottle or draft sold we donate 1 Danish Krone to the Danish Atheist Society."

Out...STANDING stout.

Start of Beer Week here in Milwaukee. For those of you who know the area, Romans in St Francis is hosting Founders tomorrow afternoon. They're tapping a 2011 Old Curmudgeon barrel and a Double Trouble IPA barrel at 3PM. Then they're tapping a 2010 Nemesis Barleywine barrel at 7PM.

I probably won't be able to stand by 9.

Firestone Wookey Jack. It's breathing. It's my first venture into an IPA in a year +. It smells of an earth air freshener trying to cover up high quality cannabis. Not that I'm familiar with that aroma, just... this stuff is skunky, maybe even a little coppery or metallic... blood! That's it. This beer smells like blood, rain soaked earth, and high test hydro.

Time for a swig. :banned:

Wow. Fantastic. A little too hoppy on the finish, but only because I'm a wimp. A black rye IPA IPA fans should love.

9:30am

Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse Dunkel

I definitely found a good summer drinker for my anti-bitterhoppy, pro sweetmalty preferences. This has a nice yeasty fresh baked bread quality to go with the sweetness. Nice. If you remember the great Negra Modelo from the 80s this is a slightly lighter and maltier offering, which is an improvment, imo. Today's Negra is messed up, btw.

Starting early today? Anything exciting going down or just diving head first into the weekend?I am cracking open a Dark Horse Crooked Tree IPA. Anyone had it? Is that available outside of Michigan?
