Almost better warm, IMO. Try it unchilled.I found this guy to be a delicious and huge beer. If you like it, buy a few more and try it across of the temp/taste spectrum.
Just picked up some Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout.

Pretty cool experience. Bus picked us up on time, actually about 30 min early. There was a cold kegerator of Lagunitas Czech style Pilsner and a cooler of ice cold bottled water. There were 10 of us including driver. The driver was awesome. Very knowledgeable about craft beers and the local scene. He kept the beer flowing on the bus (when pulled over). Gave a lot of recommendations and tips on home brewing. He's a co-founder of the company. I had two plastic keg cups of the brew. Finally getting around to going on this bus tour on this upcoming Sunday. We'll be going to Hopmonk Tavern in Sebastopol, Stumptown Brewery in Guerneville, and 3rd St. Aleworks in Santa Rosa. Hopefully I'll be able to report back on Tuesday. That's a triple IPA: Moylan's Hopsickle Triple IPA. I live in Marin, and there are a lot of great beers made around here. I'll be taking a 5-hr brewery bus tour in the very near future. My wife got it through Groupon, so a great deal for about $40.If you want hops, try Moylans Hopsickle or their Moylander Double IPA. Lagunitas Maximus is pretty powerful as well. Victory makes Hop Wallop, another good DIPA. Founders makes a Centennial IPA and Double Trouble DIPA that are both outstanding. Shorts Humalupalicious is a hoplovers dream, but I don't think they ship outside if Michigan.A good, but somewhat boring Brooklyn Lager tonight, warming up for a bourbon run.
Looking for suggestions for some really hoppy beers to try - had a Flat 12 (Indy brewery) Half Cycle last weekend, solid. Hoppier than my previous fav Bell's Hopslam, check it out if ya can. What else ya got in that style?
Wish we were going to Bear Republic and Lagunitas, but unfortunately those weren't on this itinerary. They are on other tours done by this company, but scheduling conflicts made this the only available date for me before the Groupon expires.
I bought a growler of Bell's Oberon Ale last Friday. It was tasty.a hole in the wall booze store near my workplace is selling single bottles of bells black note!! major score. i picked up a 6er of them can't wait to dive into these again... one of my favorite bourbon barrel stouts.![]()
Coors, I don't like Coors Light. And, no.Christo>more Hacker-Pschorr and Aventinus, less Coors Light
Liking the choice here. I have an odd combo of a Six of Angry Orchard Cider (which I don't think counts) and Jack (which I sure as heck know doesn't.) Either way .... going strong
Hey, that's a good looking beer! It didn't turn out as good as I had expected in the end and I wished I'd sent something else - hoping we can do another trade this year so I can even things up.Sebowski said:

big fan http://www.retrofootballshirts.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/chelsea-coors.jpgI enjoyed it. Very sessionable. Nice chocolate flavors. Light without being thin. No off "homebrew" flavors.Hey, that's a good looking beer! Nice! I'm jealous. I tried to get some this year, but was unsuccessful.Founders KBS in about 15 minutes![]()

My friend was at a local grocery chain today and there was some small signage in the beer area advertising "KBS". There was none on the shelves, but he asked an employee about it. The kid went in back and brought him the last 2 4-packs of KBS they had. He said it was on discount because people stopped asking about it and they were having trouble selling it. This store obviously had no idea what it had on it's hands. I've never had it before and am really excited now.Nice! I'm jealous. There's a Founders "tap takeover" in town this Tuesday that I'm hoping to hit. They're promising KBS, but I bet the pours will be expensive as #### (this particular bar is very $$$, but they've always got the best stuff in town). I would love some as I haven't had it in probably 2 years, but I can envision them charging like $15 for a 10 oz pour.My friend was at a local grocery chain today and there was some small signage in the beer area advertising "KBS". The grocery store sold me KBS for $20/4pack. $15 for 10 oz is insane. There's a Founders "tap takeover" in town this Tuesday that I'm hoping to hit. Were you at the Palm? I'm curious what the scene was like there last night for the KBS event.strykerpks said:Founders KBS in about 15 minutes![]()

I had the same thing last night. I enjoyed the Undercover Investigation Shut-Down ale as well. Were you at the Palm? I'm curious what the scene was like there last night for the KBS event. I stayed home and drank several Lagunitas Undercover Investigation Shut-Down Ales. Very good strong ale.strykerpks said:Founders KBS in about 15 minutes![]()

Yup. It was packed and it sold out quick. Unfortunately I was about a half hour too late but my GBs said it was fantastic. I was disappointed I missed it but then we went down to Romans where he tapped some Central Waters Peruvian Stout and Bourbon Barrel Cherry Stout both of which were great. Were you at the Palm? Close to Golden, too!I am drinking some Troegs Nugget Nectar and Flying Mouflan that I got in a beer trade yesterday. Man, I love these beers. I am lucky to live out in Denver with access to some of the best beers in the world, but Troegs makes stuff that I would put up against anyone. I wish I could get their stuff more easily out West.
Outstanding, had a few last year. Tried Velvet Merlin (seasonal oatmeal stout) tonite while on the Q, not bad at all.My local joint had Firestone 16th anniversary boxes, but not enough of a fan to drop $24 on a 22ozSebowski said:Just me and a bottle of Parabola ('12) for me tonight.
How's the Kriek? It's a style that I always WANT to like.. haven't really gotten there yet. Definitely complex with sweet and sour notes in the few I've tried, so I am assuming it may be one of those types that if it doesn't sing to you, you can't acquire it.2011 Cascade Kriek2013 Bruery Sour in the RyeWill throw some more love at Nugget Nectar as well
I'm not a huge Kriek fan myself. I love sours so if it falls more on that side of the spectrum then I enjoy it. The sweeter Krieks I enjoy much less. The Cascade Kriek is definitely on the sour side and the extra time in bottle helps as well. I enjoyed it quite a bit. If you enjoy sours, you'd like this particular Kriek. How's the Kriek? So it's like Kuerig for beer? So, I'm part of this site called bzzagent where I've received many items to test for free ( Dress shoes, coffee makers, etc..)
Yesterday I received a Draftmark Tap system and luckily my local liquor store carries the refills so picked up Michelob Amberbock.
What a GREAT tasting Draft beer.![]()
Not sure what it tastes like out of a bottle. But from the draft even my wife, who hates beer, said it tasted good![]()

I watched the "5-step video" and it just looks like one of those mini-kegs but with a battery-powered dispenser. So it's like Kuerig for beer? So, I'm part of this site called bzzagent where I've received many items to test for free ( Dress shoes, coffee makers, etc..)
