What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (5 Viewers)

Last night did Stone IPA. Excellent IPA.
Picked up a bottle of this Thurdsay. I'm trying to decide what to take to my NYE party tonight. It's at a brewpub, and usually 6 of theirs on tap included in the price, but I sometimes carry in a couple of my own.Candidates (currently on hand):

- Duchesse de Burgogne (Flanders Red)

- Boon or Lindemans Geuze

- New Glarus Raspberry Tart

- Stone Ruination IPA

- Corsendonk Christmas Ale

- Saison d'Epautre

- Allagash Grand Cru

I'll probably take 2 or 3 along, save the rest for another time.
That's a hell of a good beer list. I just finished a Duck Rabbit Rabid Imperial Stout which is a North Carolina brewery and its their first high alcohol offering. Tonight I will be drinking whiskey.
Most of these aren't available locally (near Fort Wayne), so when I get to a larger city like Indy or Chicago, I try to pick up a few. Chicago has Sam's Wine & Liquor, which is like a booze supermarket.I stopped at the New Glarus brewery last summer and brought home at least one of every brew they had in the gift shop.

FYI, tonight's selections are:

- Boon Geuze

- Corsendonk Xmas

- Saison d'Epautre

- and one not on the original list: A 2001 vintage barleywine from Mad Anthony Brewing Co., right here in Fort Wayne (where I'll be partying later tonight).

Now drinking Shiner Bock. Lustily gazing at Jimmy Beam and sour mix, but deathly afraid of tomorrow morning if I decide to start mixing them.

Scothc, Tequila, Dos Equis Amber here - wife is drinking Mike's Hard "some kind of berry" drink.
add some sorta champagne also to this also - this can't be good come morning (or 2-3 hours from now)

Just had the last of my Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale. I'll probably be drinking vodka most of the night.
So how long can we find this seasonal in the stores? This is the first year I've had any, and I'm almost out too.

I can't remember exactly. I think that it will be replaced by Bigfoot barleywine in the near future.

I ordered 6 cases of it today at work, 2 of which Im buying for myself. I never get tired or bored with it.This beer seels like crazy. I cant keep it in stock.

Still drinking Shiner Bock this afternoon. Hoping and praying that the Eagles win so that my trip to the pub tonight to watch the Cowboys will have meaning. If they have a chance, I think I'll go Belgian (Duvel, Chimay) tonight.

Drinking Corona. About to switch to a nice Pinot Grigio. And I'm not going out tonight. Otherwise, I agree with everything you said.

Loose Cannon from Clipper City. I really like this beer. Think I'll have another while "enjoying" the last quarter of the game.

Per the recommendation from someone in this very thread, a Balto Harz Hon, Marzen Lager (Clipper City Brewing Co. Heavy Seas line).:thumbup:7.5% alc too.

I'm not sure if Balto is in their Heavy Seas line, but I know Loose Cannon is and I like it a lot. Gonna find me some more of that.

3C's - you are correct. I was mixing the Balto with Small Craft Warning Über pils, which I had over the weekend.

Oh yeah! I like that one a lot too. That was the first of theirs I tried. I only tried Loose Cannon because a distributor talked me into it. He was right.

Just had the Anderson Valley Winter Solstice Ale - I have never tasted a beer like this. The only one that comes close id Tommy Knockers Maple Brown Ale. It is not like other beers in that has the holiday spice but also tastes like it has caramel or syrup flovorings. It is awesome.

I think there is some vanilla bean in there.

I've had many good brews over the last two weeks. One that stood out was Pranqster Golden Belgian. I've heard of it, but never got my hands on it. Good stuff.I had a few obscure belgians. Nothing worth mentioning. Trader Joe's Double Bock was decent. No idea of the price tag. It was made by another brewery. Anyone know the name?Drank some dogfishhead 90min while brewing an Arrogant ******* Clone. WILKED, YOU WILL GET SOME OF THIS.I'm still leaning towards Harpoon offerings for sesson brews.

Last night I did a couple of Weihenstephaner Hefe Weiss Dunkels.Tasty. Refreshing. And brewed under the German purity law. Good syuff.

I'm soooooooooo drunk. There's drunk and then there's DRUNK. I'm not even drunk, I'm more CRUNK, if that makes any sense. So I went to my bartender and I was like "I want to try something new". He was like "want me to quack you up?" I was like #### yeah! So he made me this drink and I was like "woahhh". Good times, good times. So anywho, I'd just like to say that I'm proud to be American, where at least I'm free. You know what I'm saying? Ohhhrahhh.

7 Newcastles1 Shinerbock2 house Ambers from Dan McGuiness, a local Irish Pub.Havent had a drink for 4 hours and Im still drunk.

lager, really? Most people would go with an ale for their first brew.PM me a grain bills with hops and yeast if you get a chance.

I have brewed two batches in the last couple of weeks. One was an arrogant ******* clone and the other was an improvized porter with big american hops and a steam (California) ale yeast.

Here's where we got the ingredients (it came as a kit). Here's the kit we used.

Great way to get started and am looking forward to graduating to the more advanced kits,

and eventually, buying everything separately.
