If you like Hercules, youll like the DFH, especially the 90 minute.Im now onto a Sweetwater 420. Not bad. Not great, but not bad.The Hercules Double IPA yesterday was just great and left me wanting more so I imagine these are really going to be right up my alley too. It'll be a few days before I get to try one though so I'll have to savor the anticipation just a little longer.Both are great. The 90 is friggin HUGE but awesome. One of my favorites right now. Both have alot of malt, so expect alot of sweetness.I just got a call from my SIL. She and my BIL went to the mountains of NC this weekend for some skiing. I had the bright idea to ask a favor, and now I have a nice present waiting for me at home - a sixer of DFH 60 minute and a 4-pack of DFH 90 minute. I will finally get to see what all the fuss is about.

After sending one to FatMax, I had to buy one for myself. I am sipping on a St. Bernardus Abt 12. Simply sublime. And they finally had some DFH90 in stock after several weeks of not seeing it on the shelves. I'm saving that for later, next up is a Rochefort 8.

Just put it in the fridge after getting home from work. I need to knock a few degrees off of it before opening. I'm guessing that the bottles are around 70 degrees right now. Not sure if I'm going to have the Abt 12 tonight or not. I'll probably start out with one of the IPAs in a couple of hours and save the real stuff for a fresh palate.Currently drinking a Bear Republic Racer 5 out of a Hefe glass. I know that isn't kosher, but glassware isn't as important to me as the brew. I can't pimp this beer enough.

The Abt 12 is a sipper. I'm finally just finishing up with mine. At 10% it packs quite a punch.As far as glassware, I'm not that picky unless it is Belgian. I have a Chimay chalice and a Duvel tulip glass that I reserve for quality Belgian beers. Maybe it's my imagination, but the glasses seem to open up the beers a bit.

I have to say, this beer was absolutely wonderful. It was worth the 20 dollars to try this one time. The wine notes and the sourness from the bacteria used in fermenting created a very unique and wonderful taste. I would be very tempted to drop two more Hamiltons and get this again.

Took a few nights off, but tonight Ill be drinking a bomber of a beer Ive been dying to try for a while now: Three Floyds Dreadnaught IPA
This badboy is the highest rated IPA in all the land, and clocks in as the 7th best beer in the world at both BA and RB.
After the Dreadnaught, I have a couple of bombers of Alesmith's Yulesmith double IPA - another one Ive been dying to try.
Then on Sunday I have someone bringing me a 6 pack of Bell's Two Hearted Ale straight form Michigan (she fllw into town yesterday and Ill be picking the beer up Sunday). Nope, Ive never tried this one, either.
On top of all that, I have a package from FatMax with a bunch more great beers coming Tuesday. I needed to take a few days off before the binge Im about to embark on.

Yeah, I had already checked their website. Cincy is a 6 hour drive from here. Maybe I need to plan an out of town trip. The Liquor Barn in Lexington is only 4 1/2 hours away, and the last time I was there they had a really great selection. Or I could find someone on BA.Yeah, FatMax and I did a trade as well. I should be getting his package today. Some offerings from Bear Republic, Stone, and Lagunitas. I can't wait to open up a couple tonight.

Good to know. I'll need to check on some places in western VA (closer to home). They are also releasing the much ballyhooed Dark Lord at the end of April. It seems to be a pilgramage for many people. Excellent beer. My beer store carries 750mls of em. I always forget about it when I make beer runs. Ill have to pick one up next trip.Edit: Those beers you sent are far from mule piss, my friend. Racer 5 is quickly becoming my favorite single IPA, and the others are all top notch.

Dreadnaught is only brewed a number of times per year (every few months or so, Im not exactly sure) ...Next batch is due out in some time in March, but some places still have some form the last release. Hell, a buddy of mine was in Indiana last week (in the state where its brewed), and I called 3 different beer stores up there a few weeks ahead of time and all 3 told me their distributors didnt have any and wouldnt until the next release in March. He went to 4 or 5 stores and none of em had it.Can you get Dreadnaught? I've seen other Three Floyds stuff, but not that. I have Alpha King now. Since they can get Three Floyds stuff, they're bound to be able to get Dreadnaught. It's worth badgering the beer guy for. The G/F and I plan to make a trip to the coast in April and plan on stopping along the way at Russian River, Bear Republic, Lagunitas, Anderson Valley, maybe Mendocino and finishing it off at North Coast in Fort Bragg. Believe it or not, though we're probably going to do it over a couple of days, one could easily hit all of those breweries in a single day.http://www.russianriverbrewing.com/accounts/Since they can get Three Floyds stuff, they're bound to be able to get Dreadnaught. The G/F and I plan to make a trip to the coast in April and plan on stopping along the way at Russian River, Bear Republic, Lagunitas, Anderson Valley, maybe Mendocino and finishing it off at North Coast in Fort Bragg. I said it somewhere in here before, but Duvel almost seems like some sort of beer/champagne hybrid. Very good stuff.I love this thread.
Just poured myself a Duvel - one of the better beers to be found easily in Toronto.
Duvel's high carbonation hurts the feel, but helps the visual at least.
Definately gets better as it relaxes.

They are OUT! All the stores in my area are out. The brewery has no more and they haven't made another batch. Atleast two more years until one is ready.
Any bottles you see of Supplication should be bought immediately!

If you can swing it, DEFINITELY only do one a day.
The towns are very cool too and worth checking out.
All are great establishments.
The outdoor patio at Mendocino is one of the grooviest places in the world.
Especially in the summer.
Anderson Valley is just amazing for their beer, but the people are totally cool too.
The pub at North Coast has great food and the beer there is amazing also.
