What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

Just picked up a bomber of Otter Creek 15th Anniversary IPA, Bear Republic Tribute Ale, Legend Dopplebock, another one I can't remember right now, and a 6 pack of Speakeasy IPA.

Unfortunately, I just dropped in to work, so I won't be having any of them for a while :(
Is the Bear Repbulic the Pete Brown Tribute Ale? If so, I haven't had it. Haven't seen it. And I live here. :kicksrock:
Dammit. I just placed my order with Bear Republic today for a case of bombers...I could have got some of the Pete's Tribute Ale, but didnt for some reason. You can actually mail order it directly from the brewery...I just ordered:(seven) Racer 5

(three) Red Rocket Ale

(one) XP Pale A;e

(one) Black Bear Stout

Should be here next Friday. If they pack it good and they all make it intact, Ill order another mixed case when this one runs out.
Did you ever find this info. online? If not, can you give us some details on pricing, shipping costs, etc? Thanks.
I just emailed the brewery and asked if I could mail order directly form them, they said yes, and I called the lady in charge of online sales (Jo) and placed an order over the phone with a credit card. Its costing about $50 for shipment of 12 bombers (about $90 total for beer with shipping from CA to FL). They shipped UPS just a few hours after the order was placed, and they emailed me a UPS tracking number. All you gotta do is shoot an email to Info@bearrepublic.com, and Jo should get back to you with any info you need (pricing per bottle, shipping, etc)

The website lists all the bottled beers as: Racer 5, Red Rocket Ale, Hop Rod Rye, XP Pale Ale, Black Bear Stout, and Pete Brown's Tribute.

My math skills might be rusty (or I might be kind of drunk) but I that comes out to like $7.50 a bomber. So is it more cost effective to do trades or order from breweries or other online professional distributors?

had another Tyranena Rocky's Revenge last nite... taste a little more bourbon-y than i remembered but still good.

and a bottle of Bell's Best Brown Ale. good stuff. i'm always too eager to jump in and start drinking.. should have let it warm for another 10 minutes or so before taking the first sip. once it got a little warmer it went down like a glass of water.

I have to try the Bell's Brown, just never seem to get it when at the store.

I went to an Ethiopian restaurant last night and had a Hakim stout.

Very good. One of the best stouts I've ever had, as a matter of fact. I highly recommend it.

I'm guessing I'll never happen to run into it, so I may never get to experience what this guy did:
Aroma - Horrid, smells like a chocolate-coated fart.
:lmao:

The other bomber I got was Avery Maharaja. Mixed reviews at BA on this one.

Yeah, the one I had a week and a half ago was OK. It wasn't very hoppy at all for a DIPA. Very citrusy.

Depends on the distance. If I lived, say, in Texas, the cost with shipping would have been around $75 or so, but being so far away (Northern CA to FL) it hikes up the shipping cost.

I was so f'n pissed last night. I took a 20 minute detour to grab a Duvel 750ml on the way home from work. I chilled it, uncorked it at about 10pm, the bastage was skunked. Badly. Undrinkable.

I'm debating if I'm going to make a weekley pilgrimage to the beer store today. I've still got a bunch of new beers I have yet to try, including Speedway Stout.

Racer 5 is one of my favorite beers.

The Stone Russian Imperial Stout has landed at my local beer monger. Picked up a few bombers; some for drinking, some for cellaring and some for a few possible trades

I also grabbed the following:

Ballast Point Porter

Unibroue 15

Stoudts Scarlet Lady ale

Brasserie des Rocs Grand Cru

Also grabbed a beer for BIF which will remain nameless at this time.

Nice.Just drinking some Summit IPA while waiting for my BIF beer to chill. Sucks that I have to work at 5am tomorrow morning.

TipTop and 3Cs have some funkey work schedules. I work a lot of overtime, but at least it is the standard days and hours.

TipTop, I'll drink a few extras for you after my Kings get thumped by the Spurs this afternoon.

The jury's out on what I think so far.

Try Sam Adams' Utopias. That packs a punch.
The wife loves this beer so far. Its very interesting. Sort of reminds me of the Barney beer I made once (Blackberry ale that came out very reddish purple color, hence the name). Alcohol got so high I had to throw in champagne yeast to finish the fermentation.

There is also one at a local brewpub which is triple fermented and weighs in at an amazing 28%abv.

Don't remember the name of it. It was at a wine thing I went to. Brewed by Barley John's, that's about as much as I remember. Damn, good thing I didn't have to drive home from that event.

Pros and cons of the job. I come and go pretty much when I please. But a lot of things get scheduled at odd hours. Server maintenance/upgrades. Yesterday I "worked" from home during the day (played baseball with my daughter and threw frisbee for a while), then went in about 8pm. Have another one tonight at 1am. So, very little beer for me again today. Kind of screws up the weekend. Have a long one next weekend. I think it'll take about 12 hours total, and it's scheduled to start at 10pm Saturday night. :( The Otter Creek I bought last night is pretty good though. Not great, but good enough. Time to spend some time with the family. We're going to watch a movie. Chicken little. :bag:

Now moved onto the Jolly Pumpkin Calabaza Blanca that I received from Wingnut. This beer is truly delicious, seriously. It smells like apricots.

Good choice Wingnut

Bell's Oberon. Good summer beer.
Wow, that's freaky. When I went to my beverage store today and purchased 4 pints of Boddingtons, I saw Bell's Oberon on the same shelf. I was a little drunk and thought it said Bell's Oktoberfest, and I wanted something a little smoother.I'll give that a try sometime.

Just opened a Trappiste Rochefort 10.......Heaven.
Ahh Rochefort, excellent beer. I had my first Orval tonight and wasn't impressed. The Trappist beers are normally top notch. I wasn't all that impressed with Orval.

Trying the Allagash triple right now. Not my favorite style but still a good beer.
But what about the four?!?!?!?
:bag: I thought I had put it in my beer fridge but I hadn't because I ran out of room. I went for the Four and realized it wasn't there. After I grabbed the triple I put the Four in the fridge...its currently chilling.

That's OK. I'm still sitting on the Speedway Stout. At 12% abv, I have to make sure I don't have anything to do before cracking that badboy.

Represent!!! KZoo's Finest. The stuff is great! All I have been drinking for a week.
