Having a Hopdevil tap. I must finish this keg so I can get a new one. It's hard work, but someone's gotta do it.
I have one Dreadnaught sitting around, but might have to ask my mother in law stop by and grab some of each of these.I liked the Goose Island DIPA but not nearly as much as the Dreadnaught. The Dreadnaught just seemed so much fresher and lively...a lot more depth.
Archer just got some new Dreadnaught in, as well as Rabbid Rabbit.

Sounds like something I'd write when drunk except I'd probably cuss instead of saying Jeebus. Here is a game, "Guess the owner of the review"
Oh my god, where to begin. There are far too many flavors happening to even try to isolate one. Bit overwhelming in the best way possible. Maple sweetness hits the tip of the tongue immediately before the caramel apple flavors wash over the palate. Lots of toffee and dried fruits. A slight malty roastedness lingers after the swallow...coffee undertones towards the back of the tongue with a minute sourness in the middle of the tongue. Holy Jeebus.

Thats about what I pay for em, but thats with shipping from CA to FL. Case of BR bombers came to $96 delivered. Worth it though, IMO.$8 for a 22oz of Bear Republic?Anyone ever order from this site?![]()
One out of three ain't bad. I'm hungover today. Went out to my local watering hole last night and ran into an older Irish couple and their son. Talked and drank for hours. Made want to move to Ireland. Well, except for the fact that the beer scene there generally sucks.Knowledge, vocabulary, and a healthy drinking problem.
aside from the occasional rain shower.. there's nothing NOT to like about Ireland.yeah you'd be stuck with Murphy's and Guinness.. but.... that's not all bad.One out of three ain't bad. I was on the Ballast Point site last nite and saw you could get a case of their bombers for $35 plus shipping, with shipping to me being as expensive as the beer itself.Thats about what I pay for em, but thats with shipping from CA to FL. Been there many times. Excellent pulled pork sammiches and the beers are generally fresh. Love that place. The Moor Porter from Cisco Brewers on Nantucket is tasty - but their Bailey's Ale is one of the all time great summer brews. Hoppy, earthy ale. If you get a bottle, be forewarned - they are bottle conditioned and the yeast is lively as hell. Chill to almost freezing or be prepared for a gusher. I get a case every time I hit the Cape.IF YOU'RE IN THE BOSTON AREA:
In the midst of apartment hunting (I found a sweet little place in Cambridge!), I stopped in for a drink with my friend at Redbones BBQ in Somerville.
ATMOSPHERE, ETC.
I had read about it on BA. Definitely an interesting place with cool decor (downstairs at least). Dug the southern feel a lot. Had some country artitsts including Johnny Cash playing in the background. Wasn't busy at all at 6pm on a Wednesday though some of the other restaurants/bars around (albeit on the main street) were. I didn't get to eat anything because we were on a tight schedule (and had hoped that "free appetizers from 5-7" would amount to more than three measly catfish fingers).
Great tap selection as many people have already attested to...the number hits the low twenties if I remember correctly. There's a list of them on the wall denoted by numbers but none of the actual taps are marked. Is this standard with bars that carry the top notch stuff? Probably means they change the taps frequently.
Service was rather friendly.
BEER EXPERIENCE
I tried one of the two Belgian Ales they had on tap. It may have been my first ever actually (only 21 here and still recovering from the American lager "phase" I've endured in college up until a few months ago). The one I got was De Ranke XX Bitter (10.5 oz). Noticed the potent taste from the get-go which I'm now reading equates to "hoppy." Apparently, it's the hoppiest one from Belgium. I am confused about head size. I've read that I should expect quite a lot from this brew but the head was rather thin. I wasn't watching the bartender as he poured it.
It wasn't really my style anyway as I'm more into the dark beers. I probably should have got the local porter brewed from Nantucket. I was actually kind of disappointed they didn't have more local stuff to try on tap but I guess that is not Redbones' niche.
My friend got the Original Sin Cider which I tried. 'Twas decent. Not my brand but if you bring a girl there, she'd go for it probably. Had a clear color with a hue of green so I'm guessing it had natural apple ingredients or something.
PRICE
Bill came out to $9 pre-tax/tip which I think is average for what I've had to pay at the few bars I've went to in the area.
Oh yeah, what is cask-conditioned beer? What's different about it? I meant to check that out when I went because they had something cask-conditioned but I completely forgot.Been there many times. Excellent pulled pork sammiches and the beers are generally fresh. Love that place.

Cask conditioned beer is served from the cask without adding any gas. It still has live yeast and is 'conditioning' in the cask, and is unfiltered and unpasteurized. Served from a beer engine (a pump) at cellar temperature. They are usually more flavorful.Oh yeah, what is cask-conditioned beer?
Might be in. As long as I can specify dates in which beer can be sent to me as I move from place to place. where I'm still in school. To illustrate:nase = in for BiF II?

I'll be in Cambridge from late June to mid-August. Then in Florida for a week. Then home for 2 weeks. Waltham from Sep. 1 to mid-late Dec. then home for a month then Waltham for another 3 months....
Also usually fairly low in carbonation. Careful with starchy/sugary foods (e.g., BBQ) - that live yeast will gas you up!Cask conditioned beer is served from the cask without adding any gas. Yeah I just updated them earlier today. I just clicked on beer styles and started going through the DIPAs and IPAs since they are my favorite styles. Could easily add more and probably will. Some of the Wants I have had, so they aren't as much of a priority. I am sure we can work out a trade. I could get a growler or two.Tip, I just read your wants and gots. We need to hook up for a trade sometime in the future. I can't provide all of them, as you've pretty much listed every IPA on the planet that isn't out of the midwest, but I can definitely get a few.
Added.Oh and be sure to add this to your list. It is sort of hard to find, even for me, but I have extras.
