 Wow, talk about smoooooth. Bottle date is Nov 14th, 2005, and I doubt it was stored properly, but its pretty good. Silky, slick mouthfeel. Pretty hoppy for an RIS. Im not getting much, if any chocolate that Ive seen in alot of reviews...maybe the way it was stored has taken some of the flavor away. Reminds me of Old Rasputin, which aint a bad thing, but its alot smoother.

Im getting an oaky (maybe smokey?) flavor, and a really slight alcohol taste in the finish. Nice stout, but I think I need a fresher sample. Not that its not a REALLY good stout, but I was just expecting more complexity. A really easy drinking RIS though. I could put 2 or 3 away before I knew what hit me.

Now that I think about it, the Nugget Nectar may have roughed up my tastebuds a bit....I have one more Storm King left, and Ill be sure to drink it before anything hoppy.

Its not an overly complex stout (or I should say, compared to some of the other top ranked imperial stouts). It gets good reviews because of its awesome, strong, malty flavor.

I'm having a Deschutes Obsidian stout. I like this beer but I don't think its deserving of the high ratings it receives.

Ballast Point Yellow Tail Ale.

It is what it is. Not great, not horrible....but somewhere in between.
The Big Eye IPA was pretty good. On par for a West Coast IPA.
Yup. Liked the Big Eye. Now on a Drake's Expedition Ale. Pretty good, very drinkable. Thanks Fro.

BTW, Fro, everything make it intact???? When you gonna drink the 1st Dread?

If anyone has links to craft beer TV ads, please post em here. Ive heard theres some good ones but bever seen any of em.

Just do it!

:jealous: No beer tonight for me.
The door's on your right
:D #### it, there IS some Bud Light in the fridge. I'll take it. :bag:
Welcome to tonight, gb!
Plus, I'm going to Taco Bell real quick...STARVING. be right back.
This sounds like about 8-10 years ago, substitute the Bud Light for Labatt's.
Dont rub it in with us rooks!
Uh, guys - what's going on in here?
Just the usual cluster-f###.

I just cracked my last Troegs Nugget Nectar

Great, great beer.
:( Thought I had a trade for some set up, then Spladow! couldn't get it. He still came through with a good one, but I really wanted to try some Nectar. Can anyone help a brother out?
3C's might be able to help you out.
I'll see what I can find. The place I went to last week, maybe it was 2 weeks ago, that had several 6 packs, is now out. They were well hidden so I thought they'd last. :( Me = dum-dum.

BTW, hangovers suck donkey balls.

Edit: love the filter. I didn't type dum-dum. :lmao: More like dum bass.

Watch out for beers from Edenton Brewing Co in NC. They're great when fresh - seriously good brews.

But when they get old... yeesh!!!  Massive phenolic tang and foamy as hell.  Just drain-poured an old Horniblow's Tavern Ale and Uncle Nut may not be long for this glass either.  *takes a sip*  Ulch... see ya, Unc!!!  Should have drank these fresh - aging does them no good at all.
They distribute much?
Haven't seen them outside of NC, VA, and occasionally southern PA. Had their beers fresh at the tap room - some excellent brews. Gotta remember to drink more or faster, can't figure out which. <g>

Had DFH Immort Ale last night. That is one complex beer. I'm not sure how much I like it though.
I always found that one to be "hot" - lots of fusel alcohols that detract from the drinkability. Raison D'Etre has some of the same heat going on, or at least used to.I could deal with an interesting big brew tonight. May have to dig into my Heavyweight stash or maybe just see what's weird over at Oliver's Beverage on the way home.

"Hot" is a good word for it. It's just not really my cup of tea. If anyone wants to trade for the two I have left, let me know.

Hmm, "hot" is a wine term... Bakes, what thread were you in the night of Thursday May 18, 2006? We are going to need an alibi here.

i'm beating the bushes,  talking to my people, putting word on the street

Bitter Woman from Hell????
i'm not at liberty to talk about what i may or may not be doing :bag:
All I gotta say is if I can't get it in Hudson and you can get it, it's trade time.
 hit the trucks today. keep an eye open for it by week's end. (next week)
Yeah, I found the BA thread about it. Beermailed Hop to see if it is heading to Hudson.
