What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (10 Viewers)

Had DFH Immort Ale last night. That is one complex beer. I'm not sure how much I like it though.
I always found that one to be "hot" - lots of fusel alcohols that detract from the drinkability. Raison D'Etre has some of the same heat going on, or at least used to.I could deal with an interesting big brew tonight. May have to dig into my Heavyweight stash or maybe just see what's weird over at Oliver's Beverage on the way home.
"Hot" is a good word for it. It's just not really my cup of tea. If anyone wants to trade for the two I have left, let me know.
Hmm, "hot" is a wine term... Bakes, what thread were you in the night of Thursday May 18, 2006? We are going to need an alibi here.
Probably this one and the other beer thread. *shrug* First time I had a bottle of DFH Immort I said "This ####er's got some hot alcohol going on." Of course, spending a number of years on Long Island and having friends in the wine industry couldn't have crosspollinated... could it?

Going to a graduation party at a friends house. Last time he had a get together he had High Life and Coors Light. Wish me luck on my dangerous journey...

It's a veritable hopfest in the Bakes household tonight. Started with a Lake Placid Frostbite, which has a lot of SNPA/Celebration about it. Not at all a bad thing.

Following that up right now with a Weyerbacher (Easton, PA) Hops Infusion. This beer used to be an unbalanced mess, but now that they've reformulated it? DAMN!!! Citrus/pine nose over a cotton candy like malty sweetness, serious leafy earthy tea-like cirtic every-hop-flavor-known-to-Man bite with that nutty Weyerbacher malt flavor guiding them home. Completely digging this brew.

Here's hoping that you send to me in BIF II.

Can't hurt to lobby now. Whoever gets my packages is gonna be one happy person. Checked out the beer store today and I could easily send two completely different packages of killer brews. Hell, I picked up four different IPAs and had only had one of them before. The beauty is that few outside the Northeast will know of some of these breweries, yet the beers kick serious ###. :banned: p.s. Wouldn't mind the BIF II package from MN myself!!!

Hubby was feeling sentimental, his Dad used to drink Pabst.

I don't think I'll be drinking enough to give me a headache. I can barely finish this first one! :yucky:

Push yourself through the first and second. By the third, they'll start to taste better.

tried some stuff called "Blue Moon" Belgian White style wheat beer, from Memphis, TN. Quite possibly the worst beer I have ever had. I bought a 6'er, but I think I'm gonna toss 5 away - I don't think I can give that crap away in good faith.

Tastes like celery. If chicken wings are not available, clery and beer are a very poor combination.

I don't dislike alot of beers, but this is one beer I absolutely detested.

Lovingly brewed by your good friends at Coors.

Nothing makes it taste good. Being so drunk you are about to fall over makes them tolerable only.

It is bad and a bad example of the style even.

Agreed. I can't see how that #### sells, but it does.

For the record, I'd rather have PBR than Pete's Wicked Ale or Kirin Ichiban.
While Pete's was a pioneer in craft brewing years ago, they have since sold out (literally) and are owned by a larger company whose name escapes me right now. They are now churning out a whole lot of mediocre beer. The same company also owns Bridgeport Brewing in Portland. Same deal with them.

I think they're owned by Gambrinus. I liked them about ten years ago.
