I was just starting to edit my post to ask what the trade was. But alas, I had to write a new post.I'm about to send off to FatMax. Once things get settled around here, I will branch out with my trading.

Oh, I tossed in a couple other things.....

Our annual Germanfest is this week, honoring the area's strong German heritage.

- Bitburger Pils

- Hacker Pschorr Hefewiezen

- Warsteiner Dunkel

- Kostritzer Schwarzbier

(also a bratwurst w/kraut, German potato salad, and a pretzel with German mustard)

My order from Vintage Cellar just arrived and I got an email that said my order from Liquid Solutions just shipped. Can't remember what I ordered from Vintage it was so long ago :bag:

All that with the BIF and a case of 666, I'm freakin' swimming in beer.
 I'm headed to VA for a family reunion Father's Day weekend. I'm planning on a little side trip to Vintage.

I'm going to Cincy in 2 weeks. I know that I can get some Founders and hopefully some Three Floyds. As far as the Founders, I am going to try and get some Breakfast Stout (or one of their other stouts) and I will be pursuing some 3F Dreadnaught. Are there any other beers by these guys or others that are widely distrubute up there that I should be on the look out for? (I know I have seen Great Lakes up there before).

Edit: obviously this is directed at our Midwest posters.

How do you check the number of posts in a thread? While I have no desire to post pad  , I'd be curious to see the stats.

And tonight, no beer  (see sig)

I've never traded before but would consider it in the future.

Wouldn't the shipping cost for 6 bombers be relatively high for what you're getting? I'm no expert on shipping though; that is just a guess.

And a more general question: how do varying temps affect beer?

For example: retailer removes beer from room temp storage and puts in cooler.

FBG buys beer and it sits out for a number of days.

FBG sends to other FBG. Goes through transit for a number of days (who knows under what conditions).

FBG receives it and re-cools it for drinking.

I would think those temp changes might affect the quality of the beer. Does it have a similar affect as UV exposure (skunking)?

From what I've learned in the BIF here are your answers.1- Trying new beer >>>>>>> any cost

2- Buy it at room temp and ship without refrigerating

As long as the beer doesnt go thru massive temperature changes and get subjected to high heats, its fine.

I completely agree. I know there were trades where I gave up and got more value. I really didn't care either way. All about trying our beer. I think I actually talked Gator down from what he was going to send me since I thought it was unfair. I just try to guess to keep it somewhat close.

can someone tell me why my cut, copy, paste, forward slash, back slash, italic, etc buttons dont work on my keyboard right now?

Iv managed to press a sequence of buttons that turned it off.

I also cant do from the pull downs edit then copy or paste...they are greyed out. apostrophe brings up a search bar

A couple of things:

1) 02.02.02 is selling for $400? I think I have one in the cellar... consider it sold.

2) Someone mentioned having over 80 beers at home... I felt good about myself for a hot minute - until I went to the basement to grab a golf six pack for tomorrow... I have over 100 right now :bag:

3) I am drinking Troegs Sunshine Pils while working on a presentation for tomorrow am (which was hard to do while watching the game)

4) Skylord - did'ja spill your beer on the keyboard?

nah, not a beer trader... I am lazy and PA laws are prohibitive at times.
Laws? :lmao:
well... PA case laws are a pain. I don't want to be picking up an entire case of some local beer just so I can trade a couple to some dude in utah, and be stuck with the rest.

My thoughts exactly.

I am "Jaysus" on both... I am on BA all the time, but I deleted all of my reviews. I still have a handful on RB that I never deleted.

I am not big on rating and geeking it all up and such... I am big on drinking, and enjoying, and drinking.

Essentially... and only from beer distributors. There are some exceptions - but they are not all that common... oh, and they are expensive. But on the plus side... beer distributors are allowed to be open on Sundays now!!! Baby steps...

I opened up my box from Vintage Cellars and this is the best packing job yet.

- Solid outside cardboard box

- Inside was a box not shrink wrapped but the other tight type of plastic rolls that you wrap around...I'm blanking on the name. Anyways, the box was surrounded by oodels of packing peanuts.

- Inside the second box each bottle was wrapped in bubble wrap then wrapped again in the shrink wrap stuff, then seperated by cardboard strips.

My package included....

12oz DFH Burton Baton

12oz Wayerbacher Blithering Idiot Barleywine

12oz Wayerbacher Hops Infusion ale

12oz Wayerbacher Imperial Stout

12oz Wayerbacher Quad

12oz Wayerbacher Old Heathen Imperial Stout

Good times

Let me know what you think of the Burton Baton. I have my opinion, but curious to hear yours.

12oz Wayerbacher Hops Infusion ale
Weyerbacher is both one of my favorites, and one of my least favorites - go figure.is the Hops Infusion this label? If so it is a new recipie... and it is tasty.

You missed out on the Double Simcoe IPA... check that one out if you have a chance.

Nope, old label. We've actually talked about the different labels before on this board...fairly recently if recall. Didn't put two and two together until you posted that pic, forgot it was the beer I ordered.

What has this thread come to? At least there was some beer talk I guess. I blame Wingnut for starting this.

:lmao: I will unilaterally withdrawl. I was at least trying to augment my earlier post padding with beer talk.
:lmao: I wont be posting for a week and was just messin around, being drunk and all.

Having a Hacker Pschorr Weiss right now. Pretty darn good  I ordered a case for a customer, and when he picked it up I mentioned that Id have to look for it somewhere to try and he said "Here, take 2 for yourself to try". I was all  okey-dokey

edit: 90+ degrees every day makes the wheat beers so appealing  The forcast highs in Michigan next week are about 70ish, so Im sure Ill have some IPAs while Im there :banned:
