What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (1 Viewer)

Warming up with a bock. Unfortunately I'm covering call for another guy, so there won't be a whole lot more tonight. :(

My mother is in NY for a week. What beers are a MUST to bring back?
Where in NY?
She's in Manhattan.
Jesus, took you long enough.
Not sure exactly. Will be talking to her Sun day.
 Dickie. I forgot to ask then and just recently talked to her.
:lmao: Actually reminds me though. My wife's niece lives up there now. Maybe I can get her to get me some of the Sixpoint beers.

Ah who am I kidding? She loathes me. No chance in hell. :wall:

So, Sixpoint is a good brew?

Brewery. Yes, good stuff. Can't remember for sure which one's I had at a beer fest, but they were both really good. I'm pretty sure one was rebellion. I need to start taking notes. But then again, that seems kind of geeky. Sorry in advance to you beer note takers out there. :banned:

Sex with Belgians for Furley?
:goodposting:
you couldn't handle me anyways.
You make it sound as if you'd be the pitcher instead of the catcher. Need to scrounge around and see if there are any pictures of Kilgore's wife floating around.
XNG has already claimed pitcher.
Normally, I would thank Gator for sticking up for me. But not so sure that's such a good result in this case.

Forgot to add:

The beer tonight was the Breckenridge 471 Small Batch. Gotta be honest and say that it wasn't as hoppy as I hoped. Also got a little too bitter as it warmed. And the alcohol came through too much at that point. Good beer, I suppose. But not one that I will be racing to drink the one remaining I have downstairs.

and got a beermail from Venom (a noted #####, i know)
:penalty: I know Venom personally and have had numerous brews with the guy. Seriously good guy to have a brew with - intense as hell, no question, but a :suds: At least part of his persona there is shtick.

There has definitely been a reduction in the humor quotient over there in the past couple of years - to a small degree their decision in how they moderate the boards as the Bro's get more serious about the site, but to a larger one (IMO) because a lot of the frequent posters seem to take themselves VERY seriously.

bakes, on his third Middle Ages Swallow Wit of the night. innnnteresting brew.

It will be the sites downfall. How often would you visit FBG's without a good forum? You'd come for the occasional football info then leave.Ratebeer has vastly more clientel then BA does...seems like the average rater is in the thousands. If they hope to succeed, they are going to need to work on the forums.

I've been trying to integrate myself over there and I'm having a hard time. Me not being able to integrate myself in a forum that talks about beer is just plain wrong.

I have had the same experience. You see how much I post around here, but just don't enjoy posting over there. Too serious and too many people that are holier than thou.

I really hope I don't regret switching from RB to BA.

Tomorrow I'm gonna try two new locally canned beers - Pork Slap Pale Ale and Heinnieweisse hefe - brewed about a half hour from Ommegang. Can't be any worse than my golf game lately...

I either have a cyst or pink eye. Can anyone perscribe me a beer than might remedy my ailment?
Try one of Men-In-Cleats' brews, hand delivered. If you're severely unlucky you might contract the poor dude's giardia and you won't care about the pinkeye anymore. ;) I say try a barleywine, but then I pretty much prescribe that for everything from hangnails to grievous head wounds.

BTW the Insanity R-O-C-K-E-D. I've come to the overwhelming conclusion that I  bourbon barrel beers. Writing up the review now.

  Cool!! The beer store got that one in the day I was finishing up the box. Haven't cracked mine yet.

I wish Middle Ages would bottle some of their boubon barrel brews - the cask of bourbon Wench was, well, insane.

Anyone that can get Hair of the Dog Blue Dot want to figure out a trade?
Bump for night crowd
Haven't seen it yet. Haven't been beer shopping in town for a while though. Have some trading to do this weekend, if I see one I'll grab it for you.
I saw it on the Liquid Solutions site today. Just figured someone might have it. I have so much beer around the house right now I have a hard time justifying ordering more.

I've made a rule, only buy beer I haven't rated yet. And never buy a full sixer.Only time a break that rule is to buy session beer for when I am past the rating point. In the kitchen fridge I keep the session beer, the bar fridge has the rating beer.

And in various shelves, boxes and crates around the rest of the house I have the rest of the rating beer :wall:
