What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (4 Viewers)

Started by living the High Life, got rid of the 2 Genny Light's I had, now drinking Sam Adams Black Lager.
You know, it's a great beer, but isn't it pretty much a black and tan? Or is that implied by the name "black lager"? I am a big fan of lagers, Sam Adams Boston Lager being my favorite, and I'm also a big Yuengling fan if you couldn't tell.

What are some great Lagers I might have missed out on? I love trying new beers.

I think I got a bad bottle of beer. The Siletz Oatmeal cream stout just isn't matching up to the reviews of others that have had it.

Its friggin sour and not good. I just don't understand, thats got to be it.

That especially sucks when you can't just pick up another bottle to make sure that it wasn't a bad bottle.

After reading some of the reviews, I think I'm seeing a trend. Below is a list of ratings from recent to past.2.9

Almost looks like quality has gone down hill. The bottom review is from 12/28/04 and the top is mine. The 3.75 is 5/3/05. Perhaps their brewing quality has slumped?

I would be interested to know if they changed equipment to keep up with a increasing demand.

Haven't had them for a while; planned on stopping at the brewery when my wife and I go for a coast visit in September (brewery tours for me, coastal sunset photo ops for her). Prefer their Chocolate Porter, but the Oatmeal Stout was good too. Guess I'll have to recheck it out.

Give them a kick in the nuts for me when you see them. I've also got the Wooly Bully, Chocolate Porter and Spruce ale so hopefully those don't suck too.

Will do. Liked the Spruce Ale, but it's a little bit different; kind of fruity. Actually had one at the Organic Brewfest from a small brewpub on the coast (Bill's Tavern in Cannon Beach); apparently the locals collect up the spruce buds and bring them to the tavern. It's only available for a few weeks in the spring, so I think I missed it until next year, but I'll probably check them out next trip out their way.

I like different and experimental beers. Spruce sounds pretty good to me.

I retract my finger. Actually, that post was a huge mistake. The finger was meant for Furley.

You could pm it to me. You never know and I will need it for BIF II anyways.
I'm not ready at the moment, but we'll have to do a trade at some point and I will get you my address then. I have to try the Masala Mama

I think I have sent it to just about everyone around here. That's the way it seems anyways as I always go in there with only one empty and walk out with two growlers.

All you have to do is ask. :D I'll be perfectly happy crying in my Speedway Stout tonight.

:goodposting: BIF II needs to get rollin . . .
You are one of the few that wants to start it up. I got almost no feedback when I asked for it, so I figured I would at least let it sit until after the holiday.

Pretty sure it isn't me. FedEx usually drops off at about 11am my time. :kicksrock:

I know. I saw a lot of the people wanted to wait. Oh well. :banned:

Victory Whirlwind. Kind of a letdown after so many homeruns from Victory. Not bad though. Later tonight might be Weyerbacher Black Hole. Could be interesting.

Tyranena Bitter Woman from Hell Extra IPA
What will I be having tonight? :excited:
I know what I am having.Three Floyds Blonde Behemoth. BA's #2 barleywine in the world. Been waiting a long time for this one...

Can anyone get Thomas Hooker Old Marley Barleywine?
:jealous:New bottle or are you having a nicely aged one?
It's a 2005 I believe, but I can't wait any more. The wife is now putting pressure on me to drink it (she loves barleywines too). I wanted to drink either the IPA vs Brut or Cantillon 2003 Framboise, but it appears that the time has come for the Blonde Behemoth.I know nothing about this beer, haven't read any reviews or discussed the beer with anyone I know. Going into it blind, ready for anything and everything. All I know is its ranking among the others barleywines.
