What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (1 Viewer)

Tip Top,

Masala Mama = finished

I had no clue when I was going to finish a 64oz bottle of beer. So instead of tackling it myself, we finished it off at my neighbor's cookout this afternoon. Took a few of us to do it, but it's done. The reviews are on target. That's a very very good beer.

Thanks for the tip on getting to it sooner than later, as I had no clue about the shortened shelf life of a growler. That was my first growler ever..... Thanks again. Now, should I plant daisies in the bottle now that it's done?

Anchor Bock while grilling up some chicken for a Cobb salad. Pretty good bock, a little too much soy taste for regular drinking.

Onto a Green Valley Extra Pale Ale from Skylord.

just popped open my first ever Saison DuPont. Getting ready to sit back and watch Pearl Jam on Storytellers.
Man this was a good beer. Tonight was a good night, two new beers (Pride & Joy and DuPont) and both were extremely good. Now back to some that I've drank before (don't like to try more than two new beers in a night).

Beer store guy to me yesterday: "You've tried a lot of different beers. But sometimes I'm shocked by the beers you haven't tried."Saison DuPont on my to do list. :bag:

Oh hell yeah - a great example of one of my favorite styles. Plus it comes in a great big bopple.

Finishing off the Black Hole from last night.
keeps going and going and going and going. . . . . . im off to a grad. party., later.
Getting my 2nd 3rd wind. :bye: Have fun. I'll be passed out in no time.
Guess not. :D St. Bernardus Tripel. 750ml bottle. Not sure if I can stand up now.
same here (on catching my second wind). Have a St B Tripel in the closet. I only put a few new ones in the fridge at a time because I know I'll knock them out if they're chilled.working on some Pyramid Curve Balls, Apricots and Hefes here.

Me, Thinking he's joking. He continues, "No seriously, i thought you might like to try them." Me, . So I took out a Stone IPA and had him try it. He left me alone the rest of the night. :banned:

another beer or no? My beautiful wife mentioned something about going to church  and then going out to breakfast :X in the morning.

I think no. I think the fridge is empty. Diet Coke sounds good.

 Glad you enjoyed it even though it was probably past it's prime already.

Cookout yesterday. Met my brother's wife's brother's wife's brother :loco: (and HIS wife), fellow beer geeks visiting Indiana from Orange County. So in addition to talking beers all afternoon, I took some of the midwest's finest to share:

- Founders Red's Rye

- 3F Rabbid Rabbit

- Homebrew pilsner

- Homebrew ESB

- 3F Dreadnaught

- Founders Devil Dancer

 from the Cali folks to all of them.

That's quite a list. Wish I had some Devil Dancer around the house.

Okay. Decision time. Should I go for the Speedway Stout/Stone RIS competetion, or should I sit back and enjoy a Beerwerks Bourbon Barrel Barleywine? First one to receive two votes wins. And hurry, I am thirsty.

Edit to add: I couldn't wait for a vote. Speedway has just been opened.
Beerwerks. Damn, too slow.Enjoy the worlds biggest beer.
lolYou want him to try that damn beer as much as I do. BTW, it's Beermann's.
:banned: I had this last night. Wow, great beer. Again, bourbon aged beer is a wonderful thing. The bourbon taste is very prounounced, with vanilla and oak that combines well with tht malt that has a big caramel flavor. I didn't think that I would have the whole liter in one sitting, but the beer was so good that I just kept pouring more into my glass. Thanks FatMax for sending this my way. Now I just wish I had one more on hand.

Post on BA that you have one up for trade to the highest bidder, sort of saying what styles you like and such. I think you will get a couple big offers.

I received a beer mail at BA from a guy asking about that. Just a random dude.

Yesterday I had...

Old Crumedgeon Ale

Shiner Bock

Flying Fish Farmhouse Summer Ale

On the menu for today....

Troeg's Summer Pilsener

Moylan's Tipperary Pale Ale

More Shiner

Maybe Bass

If you live in or around Chicago, get yourself some of this. NOW!

I've also heard good things about this, but I haven't tried it yet.
Of all their reserves, I don't think you can beat the Imperial IPA
Any word on when they're gonna brew up a batch of that? I'm a big fan of their regular IPA, but haven't seen the imperial version.
I was in town two weeks ago and saw some at one of the Binny's. Also saw it in IN.

Yesterday was swill at my dad's except for the bottle of DFH Golden Shower Imperial Pilsner I brought over.
Now THERE's a beer you want to type out the complete name of (especially if "my dad" is in the same sentence  )

I linked it many pages ago as just Golden Shower to see how many would still click it.

Had a couple of wits and a winter ipa, but that doesn't matter.

THE DREADNAUGHT IS HERE!!

Chilling one now. :D
