What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

nase>

Didn't you want to put something were the "FootballGuy" is?
It just seems wrong for one guy to ask this question of another guy.NTTAWWT
one o my college suite roomies walked in on another of the suite roomies once. let's just say a pair of knees were on the floor and there was no lady present.

Hop Devil, Ayinger lager (one of them), Geary's Hampshire.
Ever had that before? Some people love it, others dislike it a LOT. I'm a fan, but then I only drink it in the winter (used to be their seasonal).
I had a couple of these earlier this summer and was in beer heaven. I'm guessing I will knock it a bit the 2nd time around as it was on one of the first micros I had during the summer and I've had a lot since then. But still looking forward to the reunion.

TMI here, folks.
just putting things into perspective...speaking of perspective, mine becomes enhanced with the popping of the cap off of this orval

Orval - I'll be honest; I'm not a fan of this brew. Makes me fearful of the Duvel.

About to crack a Flandre-Kent Les Frères De La Bière / Thiriez XXtra

First time I've seen this one.

Description on US bottle label:

“This is one rich and très hoppy golden ale. Working in his little rustic brick and wood beamed building, Daniel Thiriez makes this earthy, punchy, flavorful stuff in very small batches especially for the stout-hearted Frères de la Bière, a local caterie of special friends united by their thorough enjoyment of a rough and ready unrelenting farmhouse brew. Mon Dieu, that’s good!”

Gumballhead. Hope I can find some more...got the only one left.
You do realize that you can have one of these sent directly to you for BOTMC for Sept? I have plenty of Rabbit and Gumball to go around. Your choice.

It should be higher than that, its BA's crappy rating system. Since Speedway only has 203 reviews, its penalized. Check RB, the rating is much more true.

Im out for a bit...I got these new Klipsch Rf-35 speakers, and its time to fire up the DVD player and test them out a bit while I enjoy the rest of my abt 12
 Thats the same brand i have for my surround sound. There goooood. Little late to be testing speakers?
Which models do ya got?? These RF-35's ROCK. And theyre purty, too.Ive been a huge Klipsch fan for a while but never made the plunge (save for a Center Channel Ive had for a few years). The plan is to add an RC-35 Center and RS-35 surrounds, then Im gonna upgrade my Denon 1603 receiver. Ill be all set.

Edit: Im not gonna "test em" test em, but I wanna see how they sound with digital surround...They replaced an old pair of Cerwin Vega studio mains that had 15" woofers...and these dual 8" woofers sound WAY BETTER so far.

this may be old news/common knowledge to you guys, but it was new to me -

We have one main distributor of import and craft brew in Memphis. I got a name of a guy who works there and called him yesterday. Come to find out that A] They will sell me cases of beer direct at pretty darn good prices (Paulaner Hefe at $1.33/12oz, SN beers at $1.06/12oz, etc.) and B] they sell singles that are left from damaged cases at a great discount.

Today I bought:

- 6pk of SN Porter

- 6pk of Franziskaner Hefe

- 6pk of Paulaner Hefe

- 6pk of Abita Turbo Dog

- 6pk of Anchor Summer Beer

- 2 bombers of Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar

- 1 bomber of Left Hand Imperial Stout.

Total price tax and all - $19.67 :pickle:

$.50 for any 12oz. and $1 for any bombers or 16.9oz bottles.

They only take cash or check and I only had $20 on me or I would have come home with a lot more.  :(
Grrrreat! (idea) - I used to work at a distributor that still distributes Allagash (at least what they have in 6-packs like Allagash White, Dubbel, and maaaaybe Grand Cru though I never saw that one there. And come to think of it, the inventory guy would sometimes offer up stuff at cost to the warehouse guys if the bottles were getting old. And my friend's dad works at a competing distributor so I'll have to find out if either place sells direct to customers. Solid idea.
 I asked the guy running the warehouse yesterday if any of what they were selling was out-of-date. He said no, it was all fresh. He said the deal is (at least here) they only sell full cases to their wholesale customers. If any bottles in a case are broken, they clean up the rest of the good ones and sell them to the public.

This may be common practice everywhere, so I'd say it's worth making a call to your local distributor.

My dad works for a liquor distributor which also has a beer dist. as a sister company. They do the same thing with their beer basically, except they only sell it to their employees. They sell everything at $5/case for beer, $1 750ml of wine (damaged labels) and $2 for bottles of liquor (labels again).

Duvel >>>>>> Orval. For a Trappist beer, Orval isn't very good.

:goodposting: Orval is the weakest Trappist, IMO. It's still a nice beer, but not in the same class as St. B, Chimay, Westmalle, etc.

I am pumped. I just picked up a case of Rochefort 10. Only thing is, I think I am going to try to cellar some of it....
