What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

Side note. When Bax and I meet up with NG should we....

1. Buy him a beer

2. Kick him in the nuts

3. Ask what he did with furley

Just finished a New Glarus Wisconsin Belgian Red, courtesy of Furley. Very cherry.

Waiting a few minutes for a Unibroue Édition 2005 to warm a little before starting on it.
Im a fan of the Belgian Red  Got one in my fridge for a special occasion.

The only Unibroue Ive liked so far is the Trois Pistoles
Really????The La Fin Du Monde, Maudite, are also excellent.
Not a fan of Belgian Strong Pales
So you don't like St B Abt 12, etc.?really a Quad, but lumped in all the time.
abt 12 isnt a pale...I like DARK Belgians, just not pales (Duvel, etc)
Belgian Strong Dark Ales might be as good as it gets. :banned:

Carp. I forgot to add what brew Im imbibing. Smuttynose Summer Weizen, then maybe the Moylans IIPA I decided not to drink the other night.

I ccant hold off much longer.

I still have a Moylander downstairs that has been staring at me.

Just returned from the Music City Brewers Festival. I have no idea what beers I had. I think I can name most of the brewers that I sampled.

Blacksotne

Big River

Schafly

Harpoon

Rogue

Red Hool

Catawba Valley

Sleeman

Bridgeport

Diamond Bear

Depot Street

Terrapin

Paulaner

Left Hand

Sierra Nevada

Old Towne

Highland

I also met the FBG known as Potsie. Nice guy. I was concerned when I got to the gate and saw that it was sold out that Potsie would drive to Nashville and not be able to get a ticket, but it worked out for him.

I have now met 2 FBG's live in person.
Went to the Indy brewfest today. Much like you, I don't remember all of the beers I had (although I drank mostly water after the first couple of hours). Highlights included:Brugge Brasserie: A barrel-aged quadruple with pickled plums and Brettanomyces (at 14% abv). The code word to get this was "clam chowder" - they weren't advertising that they had it. (Brugge is a small Belgian brewpub in Indy; no distribution at all that I know of.)

Three Floyds: Gumballhead

Bell's: Oberon

Founders: Kentucky Breakfast, Old Curmudgeon. They had Devil Dancer, but I missed it.

Breckenridge: 471 IPA

Stone: Arrogant *******

Several breweries did a shared recipe: A saison brewed with hickory syrup. Tried a couple - quit tasty.

Sampled various brews from:

Broad Ripple Brewpub

Lafayette Brewing

Mad Anthony

Oaken Barrel

Rock Bottom

Dark Horse

New Holland

Yeah, being 6'4", 270 I am not really afraid of too many people.
But the important question is whether he lifts or not.
This is true. But we already know he benches 400+, makes $100k a year and has a "cabin".
Hey let me ask you something? How much do you think I can bench press? 350 lbs!
I dunno. I've never seen your "measurables". But given that you're posting on FBG in the FFA......I'd take the over on 350.

Just finished a New Glarus Wisconsin Belgian Red, courtesy of Furley. Very cherry.

The only Unibroue Ive liked so far is the Trois Pistoles
The NG Wisconsin Red is on my short list to try. And not just because we share the same first initials....

I had the Oberon at a restaurant here last week. Did not like it. Dunno why. But just tasted bad. Maybe the food-beer combo. Maybe just the tap. I dunno. But couldn't finish it even.

Seriously, man. You didn't have to go all "Silence of the Lambs" on us here. You're amongst friends. Better to leave that stuff outside of here.

I had it in bottle and on tap in Michigan and they were both great. Had one the other night. Great then, too.Maybe youre still rookie enough to not know a good beer when you taste one???

;)

You bring up a good point. I suck at this. I'll now go pour everything in my basement down the drain. Be back in an hour or so.

I have easily 250+ bottles down there. I won't toss the Beatification, as that would be insanity. But rest would easily take me an hour to open, pour, toss, repeat.

 you wouldn't think that back hair could be that sexy on a man. but when it's as tastefully styled as Fuller's... well.... i'm powerless to resist.

drank a Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout

i'm really not sure that beer can taste better.

now drinking a Milk Stout from the now defunct, and de-listed, Denmark Brewing Co. not bad at all. i THINK the local place still has some bottles left.. bombers were going for 99 cents. shoulda stocked up on them. maybe i'll clean them out tomorrow.

My last count had 224 + BIF + BOTMC. That's a lot of beer. I took "some beer" over to a buddy's house. It was just us two. I brought 30 bottles. Mostly, so he could help m ewhittle down some extras, like some Founders and a few Two Brothers. I also brought over some good ones like GL Edmund Fitz, Bell's Porter, GI Imperial, etc. But the vast majority were simply extras like Founders IPA, GL Holy Moses, Two Brothers Botter, End, TB Ebel's Weiss, TB Cane & Ebel, etc. Good stuff, but not exactly the highest rated stuff from BA.

There has been an open invite for BIFers and FBGs Beer :nerd: for a long time. No one has had the courage to show up. I bet NG shows up to meet Bax and I.

"The only thing that affects the drinkability for me is that it may be a little too sweet to drink more than one bottle. Well maybe two or three, but definitely no more than that." :lmao:
"...I mean, I'd totally be surprised if I finished off 4. OK, maybe no more than a 6 pack. 7 tops.....ah #### it."

I've fulfilled my "two new beer a night max" rule. Now back to a standard - SN Porter.

at $.50 a bottle it seems to taste even better than usual.

This is pretty much the concensus from everyone who lives there too. So you would have a lot of company in that quest.
