What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (1 Viewer)

Having an alt. Kind of a letdown after the hoppier beer. Not cold enough either. Guess I'll force it down somehow. :banned:
Which alt?
Southampton Secret Ale. It's a good alt. Would have been better before the IPA. Been in the pantry for a while. Ran out of stuff in the fridge so I gave it a few minutes in the freezer. :banned:
f'n hill billy!
:D I did pour it in a glass. Well, some of it. Half of it.

Kids finally down. Starting off light - 2006 Dominion Millenium barleywine. Four months in the bottle and it's reached near perfection. I could spend the night just smelling this beer, and it tastes even better. One of my all time favorite barleywines."I'm not drunk, I'm drinkin'!" - A. C. Reed
barleywine <> starting off light. :D
Depends on what else is in the fridge...

let's see here

kicked it off with a Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout (this beer is ####### incredible) which the dog promptly tipped over after about 3 sips.

then moved on to a St Bernardus Abt 12 (c/o Tip Top  ).. a Racer 5 and then a DFH 60 Minute (c/o Wingnut  )

:drunkbanana:

Yeah, but not tonight.Following it up with a Moylan's Old Blarney barleywine. Looks fiiiiiiiiiiiine in the glass. Hmmm... a touch or roasted barley in this one, really shows through in the finish. Nice one-two punch.

Finally some action :excited:

I'm staring down a Lagunitas Imperial Red ale. One of Lagunitas's highest rated beers.

Lets do this :boxing:

I think I found my new beer.

By the way, I don't know if I can finish these Christian Moerlein Hefeweizens I bought. Anyone want them?

You cut in front of me and ruined my stupid schtick.
Like I was watching the thread. I'm 9 days into no wife (in Alaska) and two kids (in cahoots) with the associated lack of nookie, am searching porn sites for appropriate entertainment, and you expect me to be worried about your shtick WHEN YOU CAN'T EVEN SPELL SHTICK?!?!?!? BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHahahahahaha....

Currently drinking a Speakeasy Prohibition Ale. Nice hoppy red. Not outstanding, but a solid session beer. The new haul is chilling.
I have access to a lot of the Speakeasy brew's. Are most of them good? I have yet to try them.
They are ok. Nothing mind blowing but all drinkable.
Agreed, for the most part. Both their Double IPA and IPA are both average, if not sub-par. Same goes for their Pale. Prohibition amber, however, is pretty good within it's style.

Definitely should age well. This one has a slightly steely hoppiness up front to it which should (in my experience) decrease with cool aging. Really nice malt flavors going on - the slight roasted barley hit in the finish does a lot for this brew. Gonna have to grab a couple of more next Saturday in Ithaca.

Current recap on my new beer trying experiment.

Goose Island Urban Wheat Ale

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

Stella Artois

Christian Moerlein Hefeweizen
