What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

In all seriousness, thanks a ton for the beer. I hated dropping out of BIF II, but money is kind of tight right now, so its nice to receive a suprise package. In due time you may receive a shipment as well. Again, thanks a lot, and I take back all the bad things I ever said about you. :wub:The package included two beers. First a Founder's Imperial Stout, which is great because it was the one stout I wanted to try while I was in Cincy awhile back and didn't get the chance. The second beer was a Hop Juice DIPA from Two Brothers brewing in Illinois. Again, a beer I haven't tried, and anything with the name Hop Juice should be pretty good. Thanks a lot Nucular George.
No problem. FYI, this box was part of the Official Tip Top Surprise Beer Box Program.

6.25%ABV / 1.060 O.G / 27 BUs

Fermented with 100% Brettanomyces

Sanctification: Who's afraid of the "big bad BRET?" We'll tell you who: winemakers! Because of our close proximity to several hundred wineries, we often get winemakers visiting our brewery. (After all, it takes a lot of great beer to make great wine!) Because we use 100% Brettanomyces yeast to ferment Sanctification, most winemakers will only smell the glass, and only a very few will venture to taste the beer. They think the Brettanomyces will attach to their clothing and end up in their winery. A simple solution was offered: keep a smudge pot burning at the door of our brewery so they can burn their clothes when exiting, but even that was not enough. After giving it more thought, we concluded that winemakers think Brettanomyces might scar their taste buds and possible even permeate their skin? Either way, Sanctification is one of the most unique beers you will ever taste! It was fermented with 100% Brettanomyces, rather than the traditional Saccharomyces.

Rotational release. Available on draft and in 750mL bottles. Can be found in the Brewpub, Northern California, and Southern California.
For Nucular George. You might want to buy some of this. If this is truley still batch 001, they have aged it about 18 months after bottling. This has potential to be another epic RR beer.
Bump for NG.

All in due time. The reason I picked up the Goose Island, CM, and Shiner is because I'm looking for some beer that is more readily available and I don't have to drive to Kentucky to get. Something that I can order when I'm out to eat.

What kind of beer do you guys order when out to eat?

By the way, hopefully I'm not ruining my taste for the common beers. I used to really like Molsen Golden. I had some at the in-laws' on Saturday and it tasted like piss after drinking the Goose Island 312 the night before.
Where are you getting your beer in Cincy? I don't know how convienent it is for you, but I thought Hyde Park Wine & Spirits had a pretty good selection. I didn't get a chance to go there, but I have heard that the Dilly Deli in Mariemont has some hard to find beers.
Yesterday I drove across the river to The Party Source. Hyde Park is only about 5 minutes from where I work so I'll check it out.

Saw that before. I've left two voice messages for Natalie. Called back again right when they were opening, and left a third message with the "staf" that I wanted 6 bottles. He said he'd make sure Natalie got the message. A bit busy now, so I'll wait until I get home to do this.

I'll be headed to Cincy in two weeks for a wedding and I am planning on hitting both these places. I predict I will have a heavy carry-on bag on the way home.
Ahem.

you afraid of ordering from their website or something? Or does Natalie give you phone sex while you're at it? If it's the second, I'm cancelling my online order.

I wish. It won't work online for me. Gives me some kind oferror every time. Natalie and Vinny told me it's because the info for your card company and what you enter have to match EXACTLY. I gave up trying to figure it out after my third call to my card company. Natalie said just to call her directly to order from now on. Some security measure on their website or something.

Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but I had some Victory Hops-Devil the other night. It's brewed in PA. where I'm from but I never heard of it until I got it on tap here in MN. Simply outstanding.

Kilgore = Air Quality Inspector.

Currently enjoying a Hop Juice courtesy of Nucular George. Hard to tell it is 10% as the alcohol is hidden well. Nice malt sweetness, and the hops have a nice combo of piney and citrusy, although not as strong a presence as I had anticipated. Really good easy drinking DIPA that could get you in trouble if you had a couple. Thanks again.

NG = futures and options broker

Currently enjoying this dandy new beer bottle collection that Tip Top sent my way today via BIF II (or so I assume). Let's see, there's:

YuleSmith

Sockeye Red

Stone Ruination

Something from John Harvard's

Hop Monster

Nugget Nectar

It's....um...."interesting". In the way that insurance is interesting, I suppose.

You're quite welcome, Kilgore. I saw on BA that your favorite style was the American DIPA, so it seemed like a good fit.

Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale.This beer makes me happy.
:banned: I'm trying my first sips of this tonight and have to say that I could find myself being made happy by this beer too :banned:
I've never had a DFH beer that I liked. Horrible sewer water.
 To each their own. Like I said, this was my first one. And by first, I mean first DFH product ever. Now that I'm done with the first bottle, I can say that I like it. Not sure I could spend a night drinking it and only it, but its a good tasting beer.

Actually, I was having some yuks at Furley's expense. DFH makes basically a great product in everything they do. I've not had the Brown Ale, as that's not my "thing" (yet). But I have the 60min, 90min, 120min on a regular basis, and I L-O-V-E all of them. Have had a few others too, and I think the only one that I wasn't fond of was the Midas Touch, which they bill as an "ancient ale". But those guys are not afraid to experiment with some interesting things. If I recall correctly, they are the ones that with the Midas Touch and another one found a recipe for "beer" from some archeology sources and made it into a couple beers. Hence the "ancient ales" label. I also have a Fort (ale with raspberries in the brew) downstairs now and look forward to trying it.In all seriousness, they make a great product and I doubt you'll be too disappointed with anything. Even the "experimental" beers they try from time to time.

Skylord, I want a review of this when you get it. I want to know what the real experts think of this around here.

Bought my first one of these on Saturday. Still in the box downstairs, and might be there for a little while. I have some "work" ahead of me. And the case of Sanctification I ordered today won't be helping with that task...
