Just out of complete curiousity, and as a bit of a sociological experiment, what does everybody here do?WS = scumbag aka attorney
:blackdot:furley = auditor
Environmental engineer/manager. :banned:
Mechanical engineer. Holla yo.
Civil engineer (roadway design). :nerd:
Hmm, roadway design, beer... explains why there are roads going through trees on the West Coast. Would have stuck with my fiorst choice of professions (automotive design) but sitting in a room designing door handles all day... :yucky:

Yeah, why do that when you can save Spotted Owls? So when's the last time you called Nader anyway?

Obviously you have "environmental engineer" and "environmental whackjob" confused. F'n George!!! :hot:I'd only call Nader to scream at him for slandering the Corvair. Inflate the front tires properly and it won't fly off the road, you self promoting jackass!

Sorry. I thought they were one and the same. My error. All the environmental engineers when I was in college put the "mental" in environmental. But then the ones I knew were all women, so maybe there's "another" correlation here that I'm missing.

Yeah, well, would have stuck with my chosen profession (environmental engineering - air pollution specialty) but I picked the wrong time to get laid off. May head back that way in a few years - big stormwater issues out here. Surprising since it never rains. :sarcasm:

wanna come to Milwaukee and help them out Duck?

those ###### ####### can't seem to figure out how to stop dumping billions of gallons of raw untreated sewage in to Lake Michigan every couple weeks.

TIA

good god this thread is in dire straits.

as of this afternoon, only have to type 6-9 pages per granted extension (til last week of september!)

Many people would kill to be able to just go and pick either of those up. I was surprised to see Peche Mortel in Chicago. How much did that one cost you where you got it?

I paid $20 also and grabbed 3 of the 4 on the shelf since I had never seen it before then.

board cred?!?

No beer...yet. But oncall or not, I'm going to have one or two when (if) I get home. My f'n car left me stranded an hour ago for the 2nd time in less than a week. Had a few spare minutes so I thought I'd head over to the beer store. They were closed. I was low on gas so I went to fill up. After I finished, it wouldn't start. Dead battery. Got a jump. Came back to work. I'm sure when I go back out it'll be dead again and I'll need another jump. Last week it was a siezed brake. That one was fun too.

Thank St. Bernardus I'm getting a new car tomorrow.

Who knows? Maybe I'll do one of their secret santa or beer it forward one of these days.

CSO problems or SSO problems? The first one's due to stormwater, the second due to inflow. I can fix all of their problems - just give me 20 years and an infinite budget. CDB crumbling rust belt infrastructure. :hot:

p.s. Had a few pale ales at Brown's Brewing in Troy (nice hop character) and had an oatmeal stout on the recommendation of a willowy redhead seated at the bar next to us. Fun, attractive woman and I couldn't do a damned thing about it. :kicksrock:

Downtown Brown for me. Definately one of the better labels on the market.
:goodposting: This was the first Brown i had and really liked it.
there's a brown ale back home brewed by oak pond that's pretty tasty. and a growler of it after deposit is only $9-$10. I've heard of growlers running up to $20 in this thread I think.
Send me one and i'll let you know if it's worth $10.

Koningshoeven Blonde. A shame they let this be called a Trappist. :yucky:
Yes but they do not bare the official trappist mark.
Actually, I'm looking at the Trappist mark on the bottle right now. Apparently, this is a recent development:
As a result of this agreement, a dispute arose with the International Trappist Association, the body that governs the labelling of goods as Trappist. They claimed that this new method of operation was against the regulations that permitted the beer to display the Authentic Trappist Product logo. Whilst the beer continued to be brewed within the abbey walls, the arrangement with Bavaria was felt to be too commercialised. As a result, the brewery withdrew their use of the logo on 1 December 1999, however the brewery continued to label the beer as Trappistenbier. After a lengthy study by all parties, and a review of the agreement between the abbey and brewery, the beers were granted the right to display the logo again as of September 9, 2005. As part of this settlement, the monks have taken a more active control of the brewery day to day operations, working several hours each day.
