What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (5 Viewers)

I swear, sometimes BA boggles my mind.I've got a bottle of Grants Hopzilla that I was about to rate....when I realized that the link to review the beer is now gone. Its because the brewery is closed.WTF? Why?
They figure if the the place is closed, or if the beer is definitely out of production, there's no sense in reviewing a legacy beer. I don't get it, as there's still product on the shelves.I still remember the day they deleted my Molson Porter review.
Its crap. Honestly, why close it? Maybe I have a vintage bottle I want to review? Its these type of "random" decisions these guys make that drive me crazy. They are making more work for themselves.
And I made a post...and its already locked. Wonderfull place.

Whats up Trout :banned: Hows the fine Asheville beer scene been treating you tonight?
Brewgrass festival in a month. Also, Highland is releasing an extremely limited edtion Imperial Gaelic Ale (in 1 liter swing-tops). I'm hoping that this is the local beer that knocks everyone's socks off. I've been driking liquor tonight :bag: , but I am currently drinking a SNPA. Hoping to pick up a St. Bernardus Anniversary Abt 12 this weekend :crossesfingers:.

When ever you are interested in a trade, I'd like to check one out.

Found the Hair of the Dog Ruth and Hair of the Dog Fred at the local bevmo.

Strarted with

2 12oz El Torro IPA's - -- LOVE THIS BEER

2 12oz Squatters IPA - decent ipa

1 12oz Sweetgrass IPA - I love this IPA. Not nearly hoppy as most but it has something I cant put my finger on that I love

then

Hair of the Dog RUTH - this was maybe my favorite tonight

Hair of the Dog Fred - Solid - Taste the Belgian undertones. Rock solid brew

I will be picking up a few of these to set aside for trades. I'm hoping that this one will be worthy. Still lokking forward to seeing the Duck Rabbit Baltic Porter and the rerelease of the Big Hoppy Monster which should be this fall. The South is slowly getting better.

Oh, and drinking a Southern Tier IPA courtesy of Bakes. This is one GREEN tasting beer. Very good.
Cool. Love the fresh hoppiness of that one. They also brew a solid porter and outstanding Old Man Winter dark hoppy holiday ale. Their Tripel is pretty pedestrian, though.Obligatory Bakes beer story: The head brewer used to work at Ellicottville Brewing Co, a brewpub in a tiny ski town in the middle of nowhere in western NY. Their (E-ville's) pale ale - not IPA, but regular old pale ale - blew me away. Still does. Just an absolute hop attack. They're supposedly having it bottled at Southern Tier and it should be available soon. I wanna see if the bottled version has that same "keg full o' hops" flavor. My buddy has tried their double IPA and loved it - and he's a malt maven.
:hey:

Only had one beer at my buddy's bachelor party last night since I had to be up at 3am for work, but I will be making up for it in the next two days here. Today, I pick up my keg of Furious. I will be cracking into that hard tonight. Might even swing by Northern Brewer and get a counterpressure filler so I can bottle it up for some of the hopheads here.

After working that keg tonight, the good stuff comes tomorrow. My brother just started getting into craft beer and wants to try a bunch of stuff while he is in town so I am hosting a beer tasting. So far the menu is, in no particular order...

Good luck. Sounds like each distrbutor is getting very little...which means each store is getting very little...which means :(Sounds like 20 cases total for VA. I have 6 set aside and will be picking them up Monday. I promised 2 to someone else. Maybe he'll only get one. For now. There's a chance I'll get more later.

Sorry, thought this was a drunfest, I'll bow out of the beer snob convention. Enjoy though, fellas.
We're not snobs. Far from it. We just drink beers that would get us blasted faster than Bud Light, taste better than Bud Light, give us less of a hangover than Bud Light, and don't make us pine for the chubby ones that got away like Bud Light.
You forget one: they have less formaldehyde than BL also.

Whered F'n NG go?!?!?........
Sorry. Watched a movie while I had the Stoen Ruination, then straight to bed. Was tired.Glad you like the Dreadnaught and GI Imperial. Those are easily two of my favorites, along with Curmudgeon. Liek I said before, just a little something to help for your wait until you receive.

I was thinking about chilling a Ruination for tonight, but then just decided that tonight would be dedicated solely to my new keg. :banned:

Damn. I wish I would have sent a couple of days earlier. There are a couple of bottles in there that would have fit very well in this list.

Fro, where are you finding El Toro IPA? I've seen El Toro Poppy Jasper here, but never the IPA. I have had it a couple of times, but got them via trade with a guy at BA.

Oh, it isn't like I couldn't add more. This is where we are starting at right now. I have countless others downstairs. Just trying to hit a broad overview.

One year wedding anniversary tonight. I think I'll celebrate with a beer that only 228 were made....the Alesmith Barrel Aged Speedway Stout.

I get all giddy just thinking about it.

Happy Anniversary! #1 huh? I don't think there were any craft brewers around when my 1st rolled around. I probably had a high quality Michelob.

You married an Alesmith Barrel Aged Speedway Stout? Is that legal? Damn, California has some ####ed up marriage laws.

Oh, and Happy Anniversary, Skylord. Enjoy it. We passed 5 years this past Feb. Not all flowers and chocolates, of course, but still going strong. And our 2+ yro daughter is enough to keep us occupied.

For the style, I think it is good. Often I think others like it are just so so.

Skylord, your anniversary is fairly close to mine. I have my 5th coming up on the 25th. Probably cracking my IPA vs. Brut that night and the next morning I fly to Cancun.

Good ol' Cancun. Her birthday is two weeks out so we'll be leaving town for that. Going to Temecula, a wine tasting region here in socal.

Are these acceptable?

Shoe Question

Backstory might be helpful. The wife doesn't like it when I wear shorts with gym shoes. I, of course, being a guy don't care. So she bought these things and tells me you can't wear socks with them. Never had sandles in my life, other than soccer sandals I wore when I didn't have my game shoes on. So I have no clue.
