Finally had my Speedway Stout tonight. Split it with a friend. That's a pretty strong beer. Was actually kinda hard for me to drink at first, but mellowed out fairly well as it warmed. I liked it.

Finally got to try a Russian River beer as I downed one of my Temptations last friday night. Might have been a bit too cold at the start as the sourness seemed to dominate my first couple of sips of the stuff, but as it warmed up just a little bit I was really able to get a better idea of the complexity of this beer. It seemed to be the lovechild of a good Belgian beer and a crisp white wine and there were just many layers of flavors involved. Can't really get the right words out to give it justice. Took a second to adjust to it but once I did I really, really enjoyed this beer.

The game really doesn't mean anything as this is the last week of the regular season. However, depending on how many points I score, I could be playing the same team next week in the playoffs. I picked up a St. Feuillien Cuvée De Noël. Damn if I didn't have to look at the bottle three times to spell it. That is my biggest complaint about Belgian beers. It's hard to tell your buddy that you had a St Frosty Coven Noel beer. It would be much easier if it were called Joe-Bob's Christmas beer.I'm behind by 3.3 in my playoff game and I have SJax going up against Jones. I hope Benson gets all the goalline carries. If I win tonight I am in the money.

while i don't consider myself an IPA guy, I suppose I can handle a lot of hops when there is the right amount of malt to balance it out. hopefully, i'm right in what i'm saying here as i normally only read the homebrew book sporadically while on the can and that's how i'm getting my beer education.thanks for the link.
