sorry to be repetitive, but Sam Adams Summer Ale

I'm not sure what the general impression of this group is on the Summer Ale, but I think it's a nice, refreshing beer. I had some on tap this past weekend...it's great beer to get at a bar while sitting outside....good summer beer.

It's Day #1 of bachelor week with the wife and 3-year old heading up to the MIL's. On my way back from Nashville for some business meetings I decided to stop by Total Wine and Spirits. Sitting in the parking lot, I thought of this thread for some encouragement and ideas and walked out of there with the following:

Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA

Sierra Nevada Summerfest Lager

Flying Dog - Doggy Style IPA

Delirium Tremens (still chilling in the fridge)

I enjoy it a great deal. I've also been enjoying Abita Strawberry Summer Harvest. I'll be drinking these all summer on my deck, while kicking my wife's ### at backgammon

LandShark Lager...surprisingly pretty good...very American Budweiser genre but more refined, tad bit more alcohol...I think they brew it at Margarytiville in Jax, FL.

I stated earlier that my trip to Texas was all Shiner, all the time. Well, not entirely. I did try a couple of the Landshark Lagers. Not bad. Smooth, and easy to drink, but not terribly exciting.I think it is meant to be the Florida/Island version of Corona. If not obvious by the name of the beer and brewery, this is a product of the Jimmy Buffett empire.

"In 2006, Buffett launched a cooperative project with the Anheuser-Busch brewing company to produce his own beer under the Margaritaville Brewing label called Land Shark Lager. The label of the beer bottle features a shark fin."

It is passable, and will definitely be a hit with the Parrotheads.

I hate Jimmy Buffett yet like this beer. go figure...

Went to the local upscale grocery store tonight. Their selection was ungodly, they had stuff I've only heard of on the internet.

I grabbed a bunch of stuff. Whitbread Pale Ale, Mackeson Triple Stout, Old Rasputin (which I've had before and it knocked me on my ### ), Samuel Smith Nut Brown Ale, and Abita Jockamo IPA.

I'm not quite sure where to start here. Got a nice thick ribeye on the grill so I'll probably go with the Whitbread.

Wandering through Binny's to pick up Gift Cards for all of the fathers in the family, I passed by all of the microbrews.

Like any good liquor store, (in the case of Binny's, a great liquor store) they have their assortment of high priced single bottles of beer which I always just pass by and don't even bother paying attention too because I don't need to find a reason to spend more money on beer than I already do.

Well, being father's day, I said F it and got myself one. Mikkeller's Stateside IPA

Anyone ever heard of this? I bought a 24 ozer of this at the local grocery store cause i wanted something cold to drink on my walk back home. It's pretty nasty. Butweiser mixed with Tomato/clam juice.

Saranac Pomegranate Wheat...ehhhhhh

I know it sounds like real girly beer....and it is. I was looking for something light and new to drink for the warm summer nights, and I picked up a 6-pack of this stuff. I figured why the hell not....a decent somewhat-microbrewery, limited edition summer wheat, why not?

The color pours a nice darkish brown, but it honestly tastes like a light beer with very very faint notes of fruit.

So yeah...I don't recommend it....I won't be buying it again anytime soon...

The drink tonight is Mackeson triple stout. Not bad.

Nice intermingling of coffee, chocolate and nutty flavors. Reminds me of Abita's Turbodog which is one of my favorites. However, it's a little more watery than I would prefer from this style of beer.

I bought a six of Flying Dog Snake Dog IPA.. my first IPA. Different, but good. Definitely a slower drink.

The other day my neighbor brought over Stinger Wild Honey Wheat from Estes Park Brewery. That was a great beer. Anyone ever tried it?

Just got back from my local liquor store. I picked up the following:

Wild Blue Lager ~ Made with real blueberries. I poured into a glass, and it was purple. It wasn't bad by any means, but it was a little too sweet for my taste. My wife may like it.

Breckenridge Summerbright Ale ~ Not a fan at all. I was hoping for something more refreshing, something along the lines of Sam Adam's Summer Lager. Drinkable, but not a favorite.

I don't think I'd purchase either one of these again. I'm glad I have some Abita Strawberry Harvest left.
