What movie deserves a prequel or sequel? (1 Viewer)

District 9 - prequel or sequel - definitely would like to see this story continue

Starship Troopers - same as above

Draft Day - sequel - all the picks are busts and Costner gets fired in 2 years...just like real life in Cleveland!

Well, I guess not a prequel, but a parallel to Aliens - and then a Prequal to the "Alien vs Predator" series.
Yea but they were 2 separate franchises that they decided to merge later. It'd be like calling Nightmare on Elm St a prequel for Friday the 13th since they made Freddie vs Jason.

Which part? I can see someone trying to write a script with sexual undertones, which I don't think would fit at all.

Otherwise, everything Tom did in MC was for Leo. Why? How did such loyalty come to be.
Not the gay part, I get that. In the film Leo saw everything Tom did (even going back to banging his girl) as part of Tom's master plan to help Leo. I didn't see it that way at all. I saw Tom as basically living mostly move to move and it just so happened to play out that he ended up back with Leo. Tom was a drunk and a #### gambler. I think part of that was to show how he wasn't a mastermind, but a risk taker that lived in the moment. He didn't have some longterm plan, but just a seres of short term moves that mostly happened to work out. When they didn't, he was quick enough to shift to a new plan or lucky enough to get bailed out by someone else. I saw him as only really loyal to himself.

This was done.  Watch it if you are interested, but I warn you ahead of time.  It was worse then your run of the mill sequel.
OMG - it must have been awful...I never even heard of it!  LOL - I guess I'll avoid to not taint my love for the original!

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Casino Royal, Predator, and a few of the recent Marvel movies with their timelines (Xmen first class, Captain America)

please no....they have completely overdone the comic book genere.

He was saying those movies have already been made. They are likely being remade as is. If you think the theaters are overcrowded with comic book movies now, just wait. There are 63 comic book movies currently in production.

No Country For Old Men - The making of a psycho - follow Anton as he rises the ranks of a great hitman.

Maybe I have a different definition of prequel but I don't think most those movies are prequels. Indiana Jones and James Bond movies are episodic. They are both fully developed characters and it doesn't really matter if when on the timeline they occur. If the Temple of Doom is set a year after Raiders does it change the story at all? I don't think so. Samething with Casino Royal...it's just another Bond and it's not a prequel but a reboot.  X-men first class I'll give you I guess because it was an origin story but overall I thought the movie was meh.

What are Predator and CA prequels to?

A lot of those Lifetime Christmas movies could use a prequel. I'd like to know what those people were doing the previous summer.

Predator discussed above, I saw on a list as a prequel to Aliens and Aliens vs Predator stuff.

CA prequel to Iron Man and Avengers stuff.
Predator had nothing to do with the Alien franchise. And CA came out before the Avengers. Not sure how you'd say it's a prequel to Iron Man.  :loco:

I think you've got it all wrong.

Leo doesn't realize at all what Tom did for him. He thought that Tom was with Verna "just because". That was the point of Tom's rejection of Leo's forgiveness.

And Tom had to improvise when Leo went off the rails due to his association with Verna. I think it's implied that up to that point it was successful BECAUSE it was JUST Tom and Leo. But when each succumb to their vices it goes bad.

Machete could use a prequel.  Little Machete gets kicked out of grade school for playing with his first pocket knife.

Maybe.  Leo definitely thanked Tom for everything he did and told Tom he should have told him about his master plan. To that Leo even says that he Tom must have picked a fight with him just to get into the good graces of Caspar. To that Tom says something to the effect of, "I don't know. Do people always know why they do things?"  It seems like everything was far too complicated and unpredictable to be part of a grand plan.

I don't think Tom had a plan, per se. Just motivations. He saw his friend about to lose everything and just had to do...something.

And while Leo might understand WHAT Tom did I don't think he understands WHY.

Sequels:

Meatballs 2:  Meatballier

Breaking 3

Con Air (or a prequel)

I'd like to see a sequel to Thunderheart. Val Kilmer returns to the "Res" to investigate another conspiracy. Of course it would have to be filmed in the Badlands.

He was a terrible hitman. He killed everyone. Even his bosses.
What the hell are you talking about????  He is a killing machine, not sure how that makes him a bad hit man!

A hitman typically kills the target and only the target and then gets paid. Chigur is just a serial killer. An average run of the mill mass murderer. Who kills the people paying you? Not any respectable hitman.

I'd like to see a sequel to Stripes to see what Winger, Dewey, Pyscho and the rest of the platoon is up too.

I think a Fast Times at Ridgemont High sequel could work if only to see Pheobe unleash that fabulous rack of hers once again.  Perhaps Rat is now a teacher at Ridgemont and has Damones' and Spicolis' kid in class.

And lastly,  a prequel to The Warroirs. Would like the see the fellas running Cooney Island before they became a multi Borough sensation.
