What Myers-Briggs personality type are you? (1 Viewer)

this is a typical BS test where answers are black and white in their opinion, but in real life they are not.for example:Often you prefer to read a book than go to a party. That is one of the questions. Tha answers are YES or NO. How about I'd prefer to do neither? If my choices are going to a party or reading a book that's one thing. That's not what they're asking. I'd prefer to be left alone to watch a sporting event, or surf the internet or play a game online. But I'm forced to make a choice between the two.
Well, you need to understand what they're getting at. On that question, they're trying to determine if you're introverted or extroverted. You're obviously introverted by the way you wanted to answer. Just substitute "read a book" with "read on the internet". Anyway, they ask 10-20 questions to determine if you are introverted or extroverted, just in case a question or two comes up that you don't know how to answer. Results should still be accurate.

ESPN - Extra Sexy Psychotic Nerd

People of this type tend to start fires, write in cartoon characters at election time & rub up against people on public transportation. They are best suited for work as crossing guards, phlebotomists, bowling alley shoe guys & congressional leaders. Their romantic lives generally consist of seeing how far they can get with undercover policewomen & fondling themselves to www.latinachubbymature.com with Hulk Hands. Famous persons of this type include Paul Reubens, Stalin, Joe Isuzu & Winona Ryder. They are to be avoided at all costs & not to be interrupted when they are sniffing their fingers - they can become violent.

apparently our prior poll thread on this was pruned.

since there's no poll here, i decided to track the responses in Excel. Over one-third so far fall in the two INT dimensions (compared to a little over 7% in the general pop). 16 INTJs and 9 INTPs.

Compared to those general population figures posted earlier:

E/I - 50/50 split in general pop; we are 68% Introvert

N/S - general pop is 68% S; we are 73% N

T/F - slightly more Fs than Ts in general pop. We are 64% T. IIRC, this dimension has a male/female skew.

P/J - general pop has 57% J; we are close at 66% J.

Of the 16 possibilities, the only combo not represented is ISFP. Considering one of the ISFP descriptions as "considerate of others, do not force their opinions on them", perhaps that's not surprising for the FFA.

p.s. I am INTP.

Barack Obama is absolutely NOT extroverted. Extroverted people don't go into stuttering fits the moment they wander away from their teleprompter. The teleprompter gives him an appearance of an extrovert at times, but he's not. In fact, many on Capitol Hill quietly complain about him being far too aloof on issues that need to be addressed.
Extrovert/introvert is how you get your energy, not how you interact with people. Extroverts get their energy from being around others. Introverts get their energy from being alone. The questions which addressed this portion were:You spend your leisure time actively socializing with a group of people, attending parties, shopping, etc. After prolonged socializing you feel you need to get away and be aloneThe more people with whom you speak, the better you feelOften you prefer to read a book than go to a partyYou enjoy being at the center of events in which other people are directly involvedYou usually place yourself nearer to the side than in the center of the roomYou prefer meeting in small groups to interaction with lots of peopleYou prefer to spend your leisure time alone or relaxing in a tranquil family atmosphereYou get pleasure from solitary walks

Better get that vision checked.
Obama is a rational (rationals are "IN")
Rationals are "NT".I'm a typical message board guy too (INTJ). I've found INT types populate message boards heavily.I've learned a lot about the Myers-Briggs test through the years. They were an interesting mother/daughter team. The most common stereotype that I've learned about these tests that I believe is true is as follows...1. ENF types never shut up. 2. INF types are painfully shy.3. ESP and ENF types are frequently labeled ADHD. Valid? I don't know, but it happens.

ENFP. Idealist of the Champion. :lmao:

Like the other Idealists, Champions are rather rare, say two or three percent of the population, but even more than the others they consider intense emotional experiences as being vital to a full life. Champions have a wide range and variety of emotions, and a great passion for novelty. They see life as an exciting drama, pregnant with possibilities for both good and evil, and they want to experience all the meaningful events and fascinating people in the world. The most outgoing of the Idealists, Champions often can't wait to tell others of their extraordinary experiences. Champions can be tireless in talking with others, like fountains that bubble and splash, spilling over their own words to get it all out. And usually this is not simple storytelling; Champions often speak (or write) in the hope of revealing some truth about human experience, or of motivating others with their powerful convictions. Their strong drive to speak out on issues and events, along with their boundless enthusiasm and natural talent with language, makes them the most vivacious and inspiring of all the types.Fiercely individualistic, Champions strive toward a kind of personal authenticity, and this intention always to be themselves is usually quite attractive to others. At the same time, Champions have outstanding intuitive powers and can tell what is going on inside of others, reading hidden emotions and giving special significance to words or actions. In fact, Champions are constantly scanning the social environment, and no intriguing character or silent motive is likely to escape their attention. Far more than the other Idealists, Champions are keen and probing observers of the people around them, and are capable of intense concentration on another individual. Their attention is rarely passive or casual. On the contrary, Champions tend to be extra sensitive and alert, always ready for emergencies, always on the lookout for what's possible.Champions are good with people and usually have a wide range of personal relationships. They are warm and full of energy with their friends. They are likable and at ease with colleagues, and handle their employees or students with great skill. They are good in public and on the telephone, and are so spontaneous and dramatic that others love to be in their company. Champions are positive, exuberant people, and often their confidence in the goodness of life and of human nature makes good things happen.Joan Baez, Phil Donahue, Paul Robeson, Bill Moyer, Elizibeth Cady Stanton, Joeseph Campbell, Edith Wharton, Sargent Shriver, Charles Dickens, and Upton Sinclair are examples of Idealist Champions
Can't tell if it's a good thing or a bad thing that I'm the same as moops... :lmao:

I don't see Obama drawing any energy from interacting with people whatsoever. He gets away from that teleprompter and he gets extremely uncomfortable. And like I said, he's alreayd known for being quite aloof as president.

I'm no Obama fan, but you're dead wrong on this. Obama lives to be adored in front of crowds of people, glad-handing at the rope line and receiving adulation. "Campaigning", both literally and figuratively, is his strength. I agree that he lacks depth on policy discussions and is likely very much a product of his handlers on such matters, hence the teleprompter comments, but that's not the same thing as being an introvert and drawing energy from solitude rather than social interaction.

Like I say, he CLEARLY goes into scared stuttering fits when he is away from his teleprompter. He can be PAINFULLY uncomfortable out there speaking on his own in front of crowds. If you can't see that then you are the one being blind.

Career choices say Engineer and Manager both of which I have been in the past... currently... pretty much doing Engineering work.

We did this a long time ago.

I'm an ENTP. That type is considered the visionary, which I think is accurate.

I even posted a study on personality types when it comes to past presidents. One of the interesting things about presidential elections is, historically, artisan personality types (artisans are "ES") ALWAYS win the white house when they clinch the nomination unless they face another artisan.

McCain is an artisan. Obama is a rational (rationals are "IN") who in a lot of ways was faking an artisan personality as people really didn't know him too well. Obama wore a "grass roots populist mask" when in reality he is an ivory tower intellectual. Even then, Obama was likely going to lose to McCain until the banking crisis scared everyone into voting for the opposition party.

I think the democrats got confused by Obama's win as well. They think it means a new democrat governing majority. In reality, it was just a panic based on a banking crisis. That's why they are so shocked at the resistance to ObamaCare. They are misreading their mandate big time.
Is there any post that is more of a consummate BGPai Meikaa post than this?

We took these last month, a year after being INTJ here, I'm ESTJ. Both E and S preferences are pretty moderate, just a question or two answered differently. And just now, INTJ again. Maybe this is a slightly different test or maybe I just felt different that day.Pretty strongly N too. T and J are by far my strongest preferences. E/I is practically even. I assume it's fairly common for slight preferences to change depending on the day.
