What now for the Colts? (1 Viewer)

I’m not sure this comparison is dead on – but weren’t the Eagles in a similar situation until they reached the Superbowl last year? Wasn’t their talk up until that time that McNabb couldn’t win the big game? It seemed that once the Eagles signed Owens that put them over the hump - I don't think they changed anything really but just added the missing piece. However, I am just not sure that the Colts are just one player away. Heck, I’m just a guy watching from the outside with only my opinion – but I would think that a new head coach would help this team more – I think they are closer to Tampa Bay's situation when Gruden became the head coach than they are the Eagles and signing a T.O.From a fantasy point of view I am very interested to see what happens to James and Wayne. I think both could flourish if they land on the right teams. Could Wayne find a home and be productive in Philadelphia?

FIRE DUNGY !!
:goodposting: it worked for Tampa, they won the SB the year after they fired Dungy!

4-7 career postseason record says it all..

and, whats worse, he can't use the 'we played NE and lost, what else can we do?' excuse anymore..

time for indy to move on, and fire Tony Dungy

The Colts are a soft team and they beat up on weak teams this year to make their record look better. I think a lot of teams are right on their heels and next year could be a down year for them.
This is BS. The Colts absolutely whipped both the Patriots and Steelers during the regular season. I subscribe to the idea that they shut it down too early and hadn't played a meaningful game in over a month.

The Colts are not a soft team. I watched them vs. the Steelers and Pats this year and they smashed both of them in the mouth. I didn't see that same Colts team on the field yesterday, though.

This Colts thing reminds me of a couple of years ago, when Tim Wakefield was pitching a perfect game for the Sox into the ninth. First he gives up a hit to lose the perfect game and no-hitter. Then he gives up a wall-ball double to lose the shutout. Then he gives up a bomb and eventually loses the game.Peyton Manning HAS to be feeling the same exact way.

 Manning wishes he has the guts that Wakefield has

I think that keeping Reggie Wayne is really imperitive if they want to be competitive next year. I think that Edge is replaceable, and I'm sure they could find a nice replacement either in Free Agency or the draft.

Their defense to me needs a shutdown corner. They need to play more man coverage once in awhile. I like both Mike Doss and Bob Sanders at safety. Cato June and David Thornton are both top notch OLB. I think a more hard-nosed run stopper at MLB would work well for the Colts.

This really seems as if this was the year for the Colts, but todays game just started out really slow for them. I like the way their defense plays with intensity throughout the whole game, even though they give up big gains due to the gaping holes in their zone. I think that if Dungy doesn't bring the Colts to the Superbowl next year, then it will be his time to go.
Lendale White.
Interesting idea. Any chance that White is still around when the Colts draft? Where exactly do the Colts draft anyways?
I think the Colts will draft 26th
White will most likely be gone by then, right?
Not anymore...
