What pickups have you made lately just to...... (1 Viewer)

just curious, as this is a big part of what we do and how we manage a roster....

what guys have you picked up or are you holding onto, but you really don't see cracking your lineup, but you just want to make sure they aren't in somebody else's in case they have a few good weeks..........

I grabbed up P. Holmes in all leagues, traded him in one and playing him in another. RICKY WILLIAMS! that's right! Had to trade Derek Anderson to grab C. Henry before the trade deadline. I have Brady and my best WR was Stokely so something had to be done. I did have ryan grant but dropped him to make room .....that was a mistake probably but I did already have 3 pretty good stud RB's

I've got Branch and Hackett both on my WW right now. I'm waiting to hear about Henry's status and plan on dropping him today for one of those two.

IMO, esp with Ocho Cinco banged up Chris Henry > Branch and or Hackett in redraft leagues

Picked up Reggie Brown a while back after an impatient owner cut him loose. I really didn't need him, esp. now with Branch and Hackett back, I doubt I could ever plug him in. But yeah, my division rivals were very hard up for WR's (One has McDonald as an every week starter), so a little of that was keeping him off of rosters.

Henry was drafted and held on a team until he was eligble to return. So for now, Branch/Hackett are the best WRs on the WW my league has to offer.

Tampa Bay and Arizona D (latter is home to 49rs next week). I would rather have them on my team than playing against them.

For this week I picked up the blitzing Philly D against a rookie QB and LJ Smith who won't see Zach Thomas on the field. I'm satisfied knowing they won't help my opponent nor those that I'm fighting for playoff position. Not sure if you meant long haul or short term by the title of the thread.
