What song are you listening to right now? (3 Viewers)

Saw this for the 1st time the other night as I was searching for music on YouTube. Just looked like a really fun musical experience. I immediately went to their website to see if there were any US event scheduled in the near future. Unfortunately nothing right now.

You can see a number of individual song performances as well as the concerts. This is the one I watched:
Rockin'1000 full concert at Stade de France, Paris 2019
Music starts about 12 minutes in. My personal favorites.

You Really Got Me - 00:31:53
Rebel Rebel - 01:01:38

For those into movie soundtracks, a nice compilation of compilations.

Nice list, but they didn't include Bring A Little Lovin' by Los Bravos from Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, which should have been a huge hit, but inexplicably wasn't.

Los Bravos - Bring a Little Lovin'

Fun Fact: The song was written by Harry Vanda and George Young (who had been in The Easybeats of Friday On My Mind fame).

Wake Me Up - Foals.

I've always liked this band, a funky detour for them here. Not loving the video necessarily, but I like to link to the artists' official media and I couldn't find song only from them.

I've rediscovered Fair to Midland, who put out two albums with terribly long names and song titles that are a mouthful so Alexa always cuts me off, and it's just soaring rock music to do house chores to.

On the other side is Aesop Rock, a rapper who might honestly be the world's best poet, and his album Impossible Kid.  It's a personal look into dealing with his mental health, the continued impact of the loss of his best friend, and finding himself.  Also he has an entire song about his cat.

You're so new. Heh. Good to see you around.

Here. What fool started this?

Craig Finn — “God in Chicago”

I love this song and the storytelling. It probably helps that I’ve been to all the locations mentioned and have driven from St. Paul to Chicago.
Big fan of both his bands (Lifter Puller & The Hold Steady), need to listen to more of his 4 solo albums. Great lyricist if you like narrative songs. Repeats a lot of themes & characters. Pulls you in.

THS just played at Brooklyn Bowl last week  for 3 nights. He lives in Greenpoint (next neighborhood over) & they do these December shows every year for 3-5 nights (“Massive Nights”.)

Seriously I could write a book about what his music has meant to me over the last 20+ years. Just really fun bar band music.

The Daisy the Great/AJR collab "Record Player" was the last song I listened to and it's pretty great. Too short, if anything. Super catchy.

From a technical lyrical perspective and just a sheer beauty in the writing perspective, I'd agree he's about as good as it gets.

Thanks. I’m not too familiar with his/their work. I’d like to dig deeper if I don’t forget.

sounds like you had a constructive summer

Wow. So I am listening to Sunday's episode of Dark Wave (on SiriusXM) and it's all sort of alt-Christmas songs mixed in with other oddities. Not sure if anyone here it too familiar with Laibach, but just heard this song and now I am  :lmao:

As a young man who was brought up in the greater Boston area, this song brings me back home every time.

The pictures tell the story
This life has many shades
I'd wake up every morning and before I'd start each day
I'd take a drag from last night's cigarette
That smoldered in it's tray
Down a little something and then be on my way

Take that!

They are, if the link is what I think it is. Can't click on it for some reason. Roxy Music or some project like that?

This is what I'm listening to right now. Injury Reserve put out a wildly experimental hip hop/R & B album out this past year called By The Time I Get To Phoenix. This is off an earlier endeavor, and is a little less experimental than their newest. Unfortunately, one of the young men in the group died this past year. RIP.

Injury Reserve - All This Money

I just love the video for the juxtaposition of the females as rappers. Especially digging the girl in the Lacoste shirt.
