andUpdate: Head coach Sean Payton has stated that McAllister will remain heavily involved in New Orleans' offense from now on, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Is this week's performance (73 RuYd, 10 ReYd, 1TD on 20 carries) an indication that Deuce will be a force in the NO offense from this point on? Or is it a one-week aberration based on matchup alone?I will admit that this is one game this weekend that I didn't watch any of, so I'm not sure how the offense looked in regards to getting him the ball early and often. But, at twice the carries vs. Reggie, it is encouraging.Payton said he was trying to be cautious and would play the 29-yard-old McAllister when the time was right. With San Francisco allowing an average of 131 yards rushing coming in, this was the right time. "It was great to see Deuce back in there," Payton said. "We just felt by the nature of the game plan that this week we had a chance to run the ball a little bit more.
