What to do with Deuce? (1 Viewer)

Update: Head coach Sean Payton has stated that McAllister will remain heavily involved in New Orleans' offense from now on, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
and
Payton said he was trying to be cautious and would play the 29-yard-old McAllister when the time was right. With San Francisco allowing an average of 131 yards rushing coming in, this was the right time. "It was great to see Deuce back in there," Payton said. "We just felt by the nature of the game plan that this week we had a chance to run the ball a little bit more.
Is this week's performance (73 RuYd, 10 ReYd, 1TD on 20 carries) an indication that Deuce will be a force in the NO offense from this point on? Or is it a one-week aberration based on matchup alone?I will admit that this is one game this weekend that I didn't watch any of, so I'm not sure how the offense looked in regards to getting him the ball early and often. But, at twice the carries vs. Reggie, it is encouraging.

Reggie had 15 touches and Deuce 21. Those numbers may flip flop depending on the score, personnel, game plan, etc. Bush will still get his touches as the loser of Deuce's resurgence is P. Thomas.

I think the answer to your question is in the comments you quoted...I don't see many 20 carry games in Deuce's future... he'll probably get between 8 and 12 carries a week. Then when it is advantageous to pound the rock on the opponent, he'll see more carries that game.

I think you have to look at were they left off when they were both healthy and in the back field together. That was a winning formula that worked two years ago and they will try to return to that approach. It is RBBC with Reggie seeing more carries than Deuce but Deuce stealing the goal line touches and scores inside 10 yard line.
