Dr. Z needs some help... any takers?
If the Atlanta Braves ever call up Jarrod Saltalamacchia from Class AA Pearl, Miss. Major league baseball would have what is believed to be the longest last name in its history, 14 letters. But the NFL has had a 14-letter man for five years, Bengals receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh. And that could be the record right now for both sports. Am I sure? No. I didn't go through the complete NFL history book to find out. Anyone who does so and comes up with a definitive answer will be next week's E-mailer of the Week. Promise.
