You're at your very cleanest when using the towel - so it's basically just getting damp and needs to be hung to dry. Washing a towel after each use seems terribly inefficient and a waste of time and water/detergent.
Agree. As long as you hang it up to dry you can get at least a week from it. If you just ball it up and chuck it into the corner you're going to need a fresh one daily.

Would like to compare the comments in this thread with the "Do you pee in the shower" thread. Drying off ends with me thoroughly drying between the toes.

Disclosure: This guy does not pee in the shower

No but my son feels the need to. He's going to be in for a rude awakening when he leaves for college in a month because no one is going to be there to do his laundry. I get a sense he will change his ways pretty quickly.

Hanging the towel on a hook is not optimal. I hang mine, outside the bathroom, using a hangar with clips which enables it to dry more quickly. I also use a wash cloth as a predry while in the shower, and wring the wash cloth twice before 2 predries. I come out of the shower about 90% dry. My drying towel can last for months without needing to be laundered.

Wash towels once per week. I use 1, wife uses 2, daughter uses 1 so I gather and wash 4 towels on the weekend, and pull the other 4 down off the shelf and put them out on their racks/hooks so we rotate 4 in use and 4 freshly laundered and waiting.

Use 2 towels. Put the one used previously in the shower with you next time. Rinse, repeat (literally). Problem solved.

I did growing up and for more than 15 years living as a bachelor. My first wife clued me in that most people use the same towel a few times.

:mindblown:

I also never realized you didn't have to wash your jeans after you wore them once for a few hours.

:bag:

I live alone and am on a 3 towel rotation. I shower 2-3 times a week and the towels get washed
every 2 weeks.

I make sure i am clean when i am done showering.
