I don't... just use bar soap directly on torso/legs and liquid soap in hands directly on face first and then undercarriage

No. Washcloth when at a hotel/rental. Loofa/body wash at home.

I don't understand the just rubbing soap on your body thing, some sort of instrument should be used for application.

It’s mine, so I’ll wash it as hard and as fast as I want. No soap, though. Conditioner is the way to go.

A washcloth is very effective at cleaning the undercarriage. That goes for my SO too.

When finished with the soapy washcloth, rinse it a little, wring it, use it to predry, repeat if necessary, wring it and hang it and it will be dry within 12 hours or less. This will keep it from ever smelling bad (soap residue helps too) and it can last for many months. Plus, predrying keeps the drying towel from getting too wet and smelly. Cotton is a great material.

Not sure it's worth it's own question, but I have a few of those long wooden back scratches hanging in my hall closet for a quick grab. I was just wondering if everyone has those in their house. My back is hela itchy tonight for some reason. Maybe it's from using a straight bar of soap on my body.

Wait, you wash your wash clothes MONTHLY? I gotta throw a flag or red card you if so.

You don’t wash your washcloths for months?

some sort of instrument should be used for application

Why?
If you are using a bar of soap, to me it's a bit odd just to rub that on your body to me. I don't get how you get as clean. If you are using body soap and your hand, way weirder. IMO.

Do you use a washcloth to wash your hands?
No. I also don't rub my balls and taint with that soap, either. I don't use a bar of soap to wash my hands.

No, but I use a loofah.

I admit that if I'm at like a hotel or whatever, I'll usually just use my hand for liquid soap. My wife tells me that's pretty gross.

This is related, but I prefer liquid soap to bar soap. If for no other reason than the lack of soap scum from liquid soap.

didn't used to but now I have 2 of them - one for the face with special soap for "old, dry skin" (LOL) and one for the "private areas"

only started this a few years ago ...prior to that all funds went to beer and partying and then the kids when they were home.

Why?

Exfoliation!
At the risk of upsetting skinfluencers everywhere, and Big Loofah: for most people, exfoliation isn't necessary. Your cells will slough naturally, and by exfoliating excessively, you risk compromising the natural barrier skin provides.

Unless I'm caked in dirt, my hands and a bar of soap are all I need.

Have you ever washed your hands with a bar of soap? Did you feel the need to grab a washcloth?
Yes, but not if I have a choice. No, I did not.

 the things we bicker about around these parts. Look, it's mostly a "feel" thing. I mainly think bar soap is gross - hairs stuck to it, that gross slimy soft side that's face down, etc.. I don't use a bar of soap for hands at the house. Also, I just "feel" cleaner when I use a loofah/washcloth in the shower.

This isn't tucking your shirt into your drawers level of weirdness for me, but it is one of those things that I don't get how it's still a thing for people.
