I have to disagree. Flip flops are good most of the time here in Florida, because it’s hot and humid, and dealing with sweaty feet is terrible.
We'll definitely disagree. I've seen some of y'all's feet. Especially you folks that already have trouble "dealing with sweaty feet".

This isn't about your comfort. This is about not subjecting the people around you to your feet. ;)

To which I have to say, why are you looking at people’s feet? I generally avoid looking, if for no other reason than I don’t care for feet.

Back to the original question.

If I'm coming out of the shower, I usually dress in the bathroom and put my socks on standing up. In the morning, I'll sit when I put them back on.

No. Do you put your underwear on over your head?
Do you put your socks on over your head? I assume not, which makes you question a non sequitur. I'll just assume your response is an admission that comparing putting on socks vs putting on underwear was a poor one.

Unlike most of you supermen, I have to put my feet through the leg holes of my underwear and pants first if I want to wear them. I stand while doing this one foot at a time...so I wondered if that poses the same problems for sitting sock/shoe wearers.

Same question persists.

I admit though, some times I jump and do both feet at the same time...but I'll leave that for the next thread.

I am definitely in the category of "those whose feet you don't want to be subjected to".  I wear steel toes 5 days/week.  But wearing flip-flops the other two days/week is what helps mine recover.  Gotta let those dogs breathe a bit.  That and do a bit of maintenance.  A pumice stone in the shower, keeping toenails trimmed, powder as needed if the AF creeps in.

I'm with you though, too many people are way too proud of their nasty feet in public.
