What's up with Joe Addai's Hammy? (1 Viewer)

Read its not that serious on another site. Dont have a link. Not sure what to think though. Does anyone know any info. Is he expected to play?

Dungy said he's ok. I take that to mean he's going to start this week. Kinda sucks that its a late game, Rhodes is probably worth a pickup.

Dungy isn't always the best source for injury info. I live in Indiana and I've learned that he always seems overly optimistic about injuries.

Yes that brings back such fond memories of last year's week to week "Marvin Harrison should be good to go next week" stories. Brings a tear to my eye remembering them. Back to Addai, I don't think we'll know anything until practice tomorrow. The Colts did some light work on Monday but Addai didn't take part and was getting treatment. If it's similar in any way to Felix Jones' hamstring injury, he could be out for awhile.

Backs don't recover from Hammy injuries in season in my recollection. They may muddle through but they never seem to get right.

The fact that he didn't play after the 1st quarter is my biggest concern. I can't imagine it wasn't serious if he didn't come back. I realize that the Colts had full control of the game but you would think he would come back in the 2nd quarter if it wasn't serious.

Dungy always plays it very careful with his players. The Colts were up 14-0 and driving when Addai got hurt.

I've been an Addai apologist, but this is very bad. Expect a lot of 2 carries for 3 yards, then "return is questionable" announcements early in games the rest of the way. Rhodes should be a top waiver pickup this week.

I just wish they would bench him for a coupleof weeks to get him back healthy. I'm already dealing with reoccuring injury issue with McGahee, I don't need it with Addai as well. Bench him and let Rhodes do the work and then bring him back when he's 100%

He does the team no good if he can't go 100% or goes and has to come out after a couple of plays!

Not sure this would matter. He could take a month off, and it would take him all of one series after his return to go right back into "Questionable" mode with a head/hammy/ankle/shoulder/whatever . . .

Marvin last year...when did we learn about Peyton's 2nd knee surgery - 2 months after it happened? (heard rumors but they were never confirmed until this week)

My guess is we'll know for sure around 3:45 pm (EST) on Sunday.

:wall:

Keep in mind that Indy plays division-leading Tennessee in week 8, so they've got more incentive to sit injured players in week 7. I would be surprised to see Addai play this week in an inter-conference game against Green Bay if he's at all hobbled, and hamstring injuries don't often seem to go away in a couple of days.

:goodposting: The guy always seems to get dinged. I dont know why. I really dont know why I drafted him again this year.

:goodposting: Dungy is infamous for this crap. I doubt anyone can start Addai this week. Too bad cuz they had a good matchup.

I wonder Dungy knows Manning underwent surgery???

Take Dungy's comments with a grain of salt. I traded for Harrison after Dungy was optimistic about his hammy a couple years ago.

Harrison played 2 or 3 games that year and cost me a significant amount of points AND Braylon Edwards.

Really? How many times was he on the injury report this year? Last year? The year before that?:lmao:Man the Addai hate is getting deep in here...

From Draftsharks:

Is Joseph Addai seriously hurt? We're starting to hear rumors that Joseph Addai's hamstring pull is more serious than expected. We're trying to confirm a legitimate source. We are also hearing Mike Hart's knee injury will land him on IR. If the Colts make personnel moves at RB we'll know something's up. They could activate Chad Simpson off the practice squad, or re-sign Cilfton Dawson for the 3rd time. Or do both. Right now Dominic Rhodes is probably starting this Sunday at Green Bay. Addai is one of those players where you have him, you're disappointed all year...and then you see the annual stat sheet and go "When did he get those numbers? I didn't see them." I know it's not scientific (or even logical) but there's something about him where he always disappoints relative to what you expect. One of the few things I did right this year was put him on my Do Not Draft list. Maybe I'll regret it down the stretch, but I'm happy to have let someone else deal with him right now.

I would think since Rhodes played as well as he did last week, he will get more touches from here on out. Addai has injury issues, so they will limit his carries. He predictions as a top 5-10 back this year will fall short.

I agree...I wanted no part of him this year as well

If you were an owner last year, he did get dinged up and taken out of series often. K.Keith was A hot waiver wire pick up at times.....and for good reason.

a couple yahoo blurbs:

Tue, Oct 14 RB Joseph Addai's right hamstring strain does not appear to be serious. "Joe's got a little hamstring tweak. Don't know how that's going to be or how that's going to play out this week," coach Tony Dungy said.

(Yahoo! Sports)Mon, Oct 13 RB Joseph Addai (hamstring) tweaked his right hamstring in the first quarter of the Baltimore game. He did not return to the game after incurring the injury. While he did not initially appear to be seriously hurt, the ailment might keep him sidelined for this week's game at Green Bay.

Much as I hate to do it, I have to finally step off the Addai bandwagon. I still agree with switz regarding the guy's overall talent, but, in order to preserve my emotional and mental health, I traded him away last week. Can't say I miss him at all . . .

Some of us have been trying to tell you guys that Addai is an average talent at best. He'll never be special. Any other RB would produce just as well in that offense. :lmao: Picked up Rhodes this week and could use him in a pinch with LJ looking terrible against Tenn.

Update: The Colts did indeed make two RB moves today. They signed Clifton Dawson and activated Chad Simpson off the practice squad.

Colts expect to be minus Addai at Green Bay

Joseph Addai - RB - IND - Oct. 15 - 2:37 p.m. ET

Colts coach Tony Dungy says he doesn't expect Joseph Addai (hamstring) to be available Sunday at Green Bay.

The Indianapolis Star also doesn't foresee Addai playing, meaning Dominic Rhodes would start. The Pack's run defense is weak these days with Cullen Jenkins on IR and Ryan Pickett's (triceps) hurt. Rhodes ran effectively in Week 6 and will have open lanes with the passing game back humming.

Well I'll be eagerly awaiting for the time when the Joseph Addai in your head steps on the field. The one the rest of the world has seen isn't as good as him.
