dreaded sports hernias usually are treated with surgery. i guess they are saying its not that. or mebbe it is that and they dont think it needs surgery. or it could mean nothing. This is interesting since groin injuries can certainly linger. The "did not require surgery" part... what does that say? I don't hear people say that normally for run of the mill groin injuries. This is making me bullish on the bargain Robert Meacham. Anyone?
This isn't the biggest concern for Moore owners. Far more importantly, the Saints appear to be using Sproles similarly to how they used Reggie Bush. I'm guessing most people here have seen Moore's stats with and without Reggie Bush in the lineup.....does not bode well for him.Moore is already practicing. I wouldn't be too worried about it.
Id guess that a severe groin tear would need surgery. If theyre just calling it an "injury" and not a "tear", its not as bad, but it certainly to linger for awhile, get re-aggravated, etcdreaded sports hernias usually are treated with surgery. i guess they are saying its not that. or mebbe it is that and they dont think it needs surgery. or it could mean nothing. This is interesting since groin injuries can certainly linger. According to rotoworld, he was used in 51% of snaps last year, and is playing 85% of snaps in the pre-season. If that was to carry over, we're definitely looking at a wr2 here. This isn't the biggest concern for Moore owners. Did not know that. Im not certain how much action Bush saw on 1st & 2nd down the last couple years, but Id be surprised with Ingram and Pierre if Sproles is more than a 3DBThis isn't the biggest concern for Moore owners. Are we talking about Moore or Sproles with these percentages? I dont know how either has played 85% of the snaps considering Sproles is their 3DRB and Moore didnt even play the last gameAccording to rotoworld, he was used in 51% of snaps last year, and is playing 85% of snaps in the pre-season. You know what they say about groin injuries - "minor" one's are the injuries to someone else's groin.I know he has a groin injury.. is it serious?

Obviously we are talking about games played. On drives with Saints starters in the game, Lance Moore has played in 85% of snaps. A hitting streak in baseball is unaffected when a guy takes a day off, his hitting streak doesn't' reset. Neither does Lance's playing percentage because he was inactive. Are we talking about Moore or Sproles with these percentages? I would be careful about extrapolating that number too much though - Colston, one of Brees' favorite targets (and typically the #1 WR on the Saints) is just coming off knee surgery. While that might be a reason to bump Moore's expected production, it also simply might be the Saints letting Colston take it easy in the preseason.Obviously we are talking about games played. I'll probably sit him and go with Bess as my WR4. I'm a big Moore fan and I think he could be very active if he plays but no practice this week (tomorrow will just be a walk-through) has me shying away from him this week. So, anybody going to roll him out there if he's active on Thursday? He didn't practice today, but Payton said something along the lines that Moore is the type of player who can miss practice but be ready to go. (No link because I'm posting from my phone and it would take too long, but it was on his player notes from Yahoo.) I'm leaning against it currently, thinking of going with A Roberts or H Ward instead.
This week? We draft tonight, so while I was high on him early in preseason, his groin injury worries me that it will be something to contend with week after week. Any word from NO homers as to how serious the groin injury is?I'll probably sit him and go with Bess as my WR4. New Orleans Saints flanker Lance Moore, still nursing a groin injury that has hobbled him since the team's California training camp, was limited at practice Wednesday, according to Coach Sean Payton. Both Payton and Moore, however, were cautiously optimistic about the chance of Moore playing on Sunday against Chicago.
Moore said after practice he was not feeling any pain but that the big test will come Thursday morning following some exertion. In the portion of practice open to reporters, Moore appeared to be running fluidly and his routes were as sharp as ever.
On the other hand, Payton showed some fleeting indications last week that he hoped to have Moore available for the team's game at Green Bay and that did not happen. The Saints dropped that opener in a thriller, 42-34.
Holding off and playing McGahee. I hope he shows he is a viable flex starter going forward. Are Moore owners comfortable enough with the latest news to put him in your lineup? Or are you waiting for him to prove it one week before having confidence in him?
I may not have a choice if Holmes or Bryant don't play. hoping for the best. Are Moore owners comfortable enough with the latest news to put him in your lineup? Or are you waiting for him to prove it one week before having confidence in him?
All I know is the Saints seem to lead the league in groin injuries every year.
He's gonna have to play a week before he is in my lineup. Can't afford a potential 0. Gotta go with Burleson, who is a decent play anywayHolding off and playing McGahee. Link? lolI work with someone who is a die hard Saints fan. He said that the Chi defense always plays well against NO. Also Henderson lined up at the slot, which is usually Moore's position, to which he caught that TD pass from Brees. They were not pushing Moore since he just got back. He said once Moore gets back to full speed he will go back to the slot. Moore did not suffer any setbacks. So expect his snaps to increase in week 3.
He was targeted sporadically but I don't believe he is 100%. The Bears have a pretty decent secondary and NO felt the short game was best...Meachem was 4/10/TD...very short routes except an occasional long ball to Henderson or Graham. Moore will see increased targets in the coming weeks. They were not behind most of the game as well so they had no urgency to push the passing game. It wasn't like Moore was on the field all the time when Sproles was out there. Sproles is mostly the 3rd down back and also when they want the defense to think they are in pass mode.Is there any insight to what happened? I know its only his first game back but 1 catch? I dont know whether to hold or fold with all the buzz he got in preseason and tempting ww pickups
Interesting, yeah that TD was definitely a Moore kind of play.I work with someone who is a die hard Saints fan. He said that the Chi defense always plays well against NO. Sort benches where you start 8 out of 14 or 16 man rosters there are always guys available that make some folks shake their heads but I like them a lot and enjoy the weekly action on the WW. Everyone is droppable in those types of leagues.I know it's early, but with so many attractive waiver wire options and the copious amount of options for Drew Brees, is Lance Moore droppable in leagues with small benches?
