I think it's usually right around Memorial day weekend. In any case, I've always wanted the first version to be put out much sooner if possible. Even if it was only loaded with last year's stats and the new rookies, it would be great. But, I don't understand why it can't be out within days of the first sets of projections which have already been out for a while.

Agree. It is about time we have DD separate DE and DT from DL and CB/S from DB....the projections already do this....C'mon Bruce!!
DD was up on the site May 31 last year......
I too am hoping for some improvements.

I am finishing up the last of the projections here. (Kickers and Team Defense). I expect to have both done later tonight. Clayton Gray has promised us that Strength of Schedule will be done Monday. It then takes us a good 3-4 days to get everything compiled and done here for the VBD and DD apps.
So best case is looking around Friday (May 28th) of next week. If we hit any snags, it would be Monday, May 31st or June 1st.

I am happy for the IDP'ers who will be getting a much needed adjustment to how defensive players are displayed. There are a couple of threads in the Applications forum with requests for changes/alterations/improvements to the DD/LD applications, yet there has been no response from Bruce (or any staff) with regards to these request threads. I know the LD and DD applications are slightly different in the generated output, but the scoring setup screen is identical between the two. Personally, I would like to see a more enhanced scoring parameter setup, for both applications....and PD for that matter. When can we expect a response to these request threads? These applications rock nonetheless, but they could be so much better with a few enhancements. Many, if not all, of the requests are pretty good ideas and it would be nice to hear which enhancements are being considered for this year or even if they could be done.The lack of response from staff in the Application thread is disheartening. It's been quite awhile since Bruce addressed any request thread.

An awesome feature would be if you could put in the league schedule and get projected final standings (not just w-l for your team) and all-play standings. Seems like an easy feature to implement and would help you evaluate the real strength of your team.
Maybe build-in rate-your-team like functions.

any chance DD can 'sync' with sportsline/mfl drafts? The "input" is very time consuming, especially in a 'fast paced' draft.

It does most of this. Don't know about projected W-L totals, but you can do this manually if you look at each team's projected points scored per week. So, it's in there but may take a little excel manipulation. It does the Rate-your-team with explanations of each team's strengths and weaknesses by position. They began including this last year and it's great.

I'm almost positive it does this with MFL as of at least last year if not before. Not sure about CBS. The last few years though, I've just had two windows open during the draft and did the inputting during the draft into both of these sites. Need the WiFi hookup on your laptop obviously, but it's much better than manually inputting after the draft.
Never understood why this is always so slow in coming out. Even if the predictions/projections are unstable at this point, DD is a fantastic tracking tool. There are tons of drafts already going on and it would be nice to be able to use this fantastic tool.

I totally agree. I guess you could use last year's version with a lot of work. But, it would be great if there was a VERY early edition that included the new schedule, the new rookies with their new teams, and the bye weeks. Even if the projections were really preliminary, it would be helpful since I mostly just use it as an organizational tool.
Is it that hard to make the DD compatible your online projections database such that updates are globally applied? I'm surprised you guys still haven't been able to come up with a solution to this knowing the huge benefits of doing it.
David, projections are the LEAST important part of the DD, at least for the experianced FF'ers. This is one of the best tools FBG's offers, but it comes out too late for a lot of leagues.A watered down version based on staff rankings (instead of complete projections) would be almost as good, and could be released much sooner post-draft. A system based more on a rank then a pure projection would then also be more valuable for dynasties.
I completely understand it...been using it for years. You do understand that there are multiple ways to use this tool, right? Some of the most useful tasks of DD are also the simplest, and shouldn't require a complete set of projections for the entire league. I also think that certain applications, such as the reliance on SOS, are of very limited value, but require significant programming effort.I would argue that DD relies too heavily on projections. I am with renesauz on this. Been using it for as many years as it's been around and pretty much know all the in's and out's of it, sans using it for an auction draft, of which I haven't done any. I'm gonna' bet that a lot of staff man hours have been spent getting the I-phone app ready for release this year and thus the Domniator series has taken a backseat this offseason.renesauz said:

I appreciate that FBG wants to be on the cutting edge of fantasy football related websites and the I-phone app helps to accomplish this goal. But, that goal shouldn't come at the expense of the ONE tool that has helped get them to the point they are at now. Sure, some may say that the VBD app is the thing that put them on the map, but the Dominator series basically landed in their lap and shoved them to new heights. It blows away the VBD app, hands down. I'd be interested to know how many VBD apps were downloaded last year compared to the Dominator series. Even if the DD/PD are released in the next week or so, I'll be really disappointed if there are no improvements/enhancements (aside from the separation of IDP players, which only matters to a very small portion of the Dominator user base) to this years version.

The initial release of DD is the single event that jump starts my football season each year. It's just such a great tool to help organize and track everything for keeper leagues, draft pick trades, auction salaries, new players, traded players, injuries/notes, bye weeks, you name it.

Yet for such an easy feature -- we haven't seen it in the 2-3 years we've been requesting it. The true measure of this feature really won't be for DD - but for LD as you evaluate trades. How cool would it be to input a trade with projection and SOS and say, 'If I give them X for Y my team improves by 2 wins and their team loses 3 more games."And in response to a post below this original post - yes there is an MFL Import. I don't know how well it will work in real time - I suppose it depends on the speed of your PC and your internet connection. Having to update after every pick might be cumbersome. The best thing to do is have 2 PC's - one with your draft room and one with DD. Come on over to our sandbox and read some of the posts on how to best utilize DD on draft day...

You can do this in the DD. Drop potentially traded players back into the player pool and switch them on each of the other two teams. Then you can view how it changes each of the team's projected weekly scoring. Then, just switch the players back if you don't like what you see.
