When will the Eagles bench Vick (1 Viewer)

Apparently you can't discuss any player while their game is going on in this forum. But now that the game is over (mods>hi!), maybe its time to look at other QB options in Philadelphia. Vick is 1-5 in his last 6 starts, and does not look like an NFL QB right now. He is a great fantasy QB. but the Super Team is 1-4, and close to eliminated from playoff consideration.

It was a good run. Time to move on. See what you have in Young or Kafka.

 
Vick had 4 picks today, but only one of them was his fault. Vick is NOT the reason Philly is losing games.

Until he stops producing 400-500 yds of offense a week and the fact they paid him $100m, I think it's safe to say even if they go 3-13 they ain't sitting him down.

 
i am not sure how the last one is an interception. avant had the ball and it was ripped from his hands. that's a fumble.

:goodposting: Who are they going to replace him with? Kolb is in Arizona. VY is another project. Vick isn't the problem.I think Vick gives them the best chance to win this year as long as he is healthy.
 
This can't be a serious question. Vick is the only reason they aren't getting blown out. The reason they are losing is that their super duper defense has been atrocious. Did you actually SEE Kafka play QB when Vick got hurt?

Vick is probably some where around 25th on the list of reasons why they are 1-4. he's not sitting.

 
you clearly havent been watcing the games. All you are doing is looking at 1-4 and saying "should Vick get benched."

Try watching the games instead of just posting a stupid pointless thread.

Any other QB with that offensive line would literally be on IR right now. Vick is the LEAST of their problems.

Cutler doesnt complain and his Oline has been worse for 3 years, same with Ben. Its just Philly crying because they choose to.
 
Vick was pretty bad in the first half, but he's the reason why they came back and had a chance to win the game. Talking about benching him is just stupid.

Are people actually watching the games or just looking at them??? Seems to me that when the Eagles turn the ball over one of two things happen:

1) Holds on to the ball. Example: 3 step drop that he tries to improvise.

2) Bad accuracy. A few of the balls would of been caught if placed in the right place.

I'm not saying the line is not a problem but he needs to be a better "quarterback".

 
Reasons why Eagles suck so far this year:

1. Missed tackles and lack of fundamentals on Defense.

2. Linebackers just aren't that good, it took the coaches way to long to stop the Casey MLB experiement. Even when they did and tried to hide him on the outside he was still exposed.

3. Poor use of personnel on defense. Namdi is a man-press corner not a zone corner.

4. Offensive line has not provided consistent pass blocking (nor open many running lanes.

The Arizona Cardinals in their last 34 games?
 
It's been said by many already but in this case it probably doesn't hurt to say it again. Vick's play is the least of Philly's problems right now. Their D is awful. So much for that plan... :rolleyes: They can't tackles, are always out of position and aren't physical at the LOS. Their Oline can't pass block and are getting Vick killed nearly every snap. The play calling is almost as bad as the 1st 2 things I listed as well.

Are you saying that if Vick was a good leader, the line would block better and the defense would nbe better tacklers? LOLOL You're NOT this dumb.

I am not a Vick fan in many ways but I can't see where benching him will help at all. You have to live with some of the mistakes that he makes, but he will get benched by some linebacker if the O-line doesn't do better than it has so far. Vick by far gives them the best chance to win, but playing behind that line is probably more dangereous than prison was for Vick.

Ya I also find it strange how someone with so many posts could actually know that little about a topic he started. I also thought this thread was a joke.

it's never the star's fault when he loses, but he is always the driving force behind victories . . .
 
Young is the game day backup because his style is similar to Vick's, but if Vick got hurt and were to miss a start, my money would be on Kafka to get the nod.

 
Young looked surprisingly effective in preseason. I think the offense makes QBs look a lot better than they do in other systems. If Young got a chance to play he would be a top 10 fantasy QB just because he'd be QB Eagles.

Look at McNabb since he left Philly. Look how god awful Kolb looks in Arizona. Young would thrive in this system.

A decision to bench Vick, or any QB for that matter, has nothing to do with his potential in Fantasy Football.
