Where to take Lattimore? (1 Viewer)

If my team is strong enough to stash him for a year I'm trading (up or down) to the pick 6-10 range and getting him there. Christine Michael is plan B. Hands down the two best RB's in this class, would rather get them cheaper than the less talented/better situation RB's in the top 6.

I was a bit surprised to see Lattimore sitting there at 15. I had the choice of Lattimore, Justin Hunter, and Zac Stacy. I chose Lattimore because of positional value (you can always find a wideout in this league it seems) and upside. While I like Stacy, I thought the better move was to swing for the fences with Lattimore. He may very well bust. I am ok with that risk. I am basically going to have to use my 24th roster spot on him all season with zero production. That's ok too.

I think 14-20 is the right range for the kid.

I was also able to select Christine Michael at 30th overall. I was pretty happy with that. Although with out short(er) rosters, I am not sure how long I can stash two upside running backs that figure on very little production this season.

It seems like his value is all over the place. I've seen people post that they took him in the 3rd round and I've seen other people say he's their target in the late first (for 12+ team leagues).

As far as Lattimore's value is, I've been going back and forth on it. I've thought through it with many different picks I have in my upcoming draft and ultimately he seems like a luxury pick for someone who is already flush with RBs and can take a gamble, much in the way SF did. You may even say the same about Michael (and drafting him) and the Seahawks as well. It's a weird year for RBs...

My thought on Stacy/Lattimore is that is that the 49ers were content to pick him over Stacy despite having a destroyed knee. If they thought their talent was comparable then they would have taken Stacy and not have had to worry about Lattimore recovery.

Michael's talent is very intriguing but he comes with some baggage. He went to great running team but it's a lousy short-term situation. If you're willing to wait ~3 years on him you could be a looking at a RB1 after Lynch is gone. I consider the 49ers and Seahawks to be comparable running team but I prefer Lattimore over Michael due to less character concerns and potentially earlier production.

I just took him at 1.08 in a 12 team non-PPR 1/2/3/1 + 1 non-qb flex league.

I'm pretty much set at RB with Foster, Richardson, Morris, Miller & Ivory, so I have the luxury of not needing him to contribute this year. My bigger need was at WR, but non of the top guys excite me this year.

I think you played it right. You are basically in the same situation as the 49ers were when they selected him. Don't need him now but gambling on upside. By 2014 or 2015 Foster is going to be long in the tooth, and you'll have a much better idea what you truly have in the rest of your group.

I grabbed Lattimore at 2.05 and Michael at 3.10 in a ten team league. I'm good with that. Now I kind of wish I hadn't trade Sjax away though as these guys are definitely long term projects.

Was at pick 2.04 in my 10 team dynasty league with his still on the board and another 7 picks till my first pick.....

I traded a (hopefully late) 2014 1st for the 2.04 and took him. I then traded another (hopefully late) 2014 1st for 2.05 and took Tyler Eifert.

I am partners with Bruce Hammond in a recent startup (Leather Helmet 5), and we also traded up to draft both Lattimore and Eifert.

We traded our 2014 1st round pick, hopefully a late pick, and 24.1 for 8.3 and took Eifert. He was the 7th TE drafted.

We traded 9.12 and 10.1 for 8.4 and 14 and used the 8.4 pick to take Lattimore. He was the 33rd RB drafted.

I have 1.7 & 1.8 in a 14 person non-PPR league. Part of me is hoping to take him with one of those picks and part of me is hoping someone takes him before me. I guess that is the inigma of Lattimore, nobody really knows what he's going to be. If nothing else, I think he's great trade bait because of the name. Time will tell.
I couldn't resist and I grabbed him at 1.08. I love the story and I'm rooting for the kid. It's going to be an interesting story for a few years in my eyes.
