The 2011 nfl draft class is one of the best for skill position players. Here are my comparisons to current NFL players

QB

Andrew Luck- this is a tough one but maybe Aaron Rodgers

Cam Newton-Dante Culpepper

Jake Locker- Jay Cutler

Ryan Mallett- Joe Flacco

RB

Mark Ingram- Jonathan Stewart

Ryan Williams- Deangelo Williams

DeMarco Murrey- Ahmad Bradshaw

Daniel Thomas- Keiland Williams

Kendall Hunter- Mike Goodson

Noel Divine- Justin Forsett

Evan Royster- Derrick Ward

Quizz Rodgers- Somthing better than Sproles but not nearly as good as MJD

WRs

AJ Green- Randy Moss

Julio Jones- Dwayne Bowe during mid 2010

Justin Blackman- Hakeem Nicks

Jonathan Baldwin- Mike X Williams

Titus Young- Mike Wallace

Michael Floyd- Sidney Rice

Ryan Broyles- Mark Clayton

Austin Pettis- Devery Henderson

Leonard Hankerson- Kenny Britt

Cecil Shorts- Never seen him play but from what i hear he sounds like Andre Caldwell

Am I the only person who doesn't think Mark Ingram is going to be a good pro? I'm just not impressed at all when I watch him.

Locker = poor man's Elway. Cannon arm, big guy, mobile. But less likely he'll be that good because Elway's dad was a coach and Locker was an option QB that only has 2 years in a pro style offense.

I've heard Luck compared to Big Ben, I haven't seen him play as much as I'd like to but I can see similarities.

I dont really see that, lucks not that mobile and isnt really a gunslinger like big ben

:confused: What you're saying makes no sense. You say he's not that mobile, yet you compare him to Rodgers, who's more of a mobile QB than BB. Anyone who's watched Luck can tell you the guy moves very well outside the pocket.

Cam Newton = Matt Jones at Arkansas with an arm. Newton is a freak. Culpepper was fast for a huge guy. Newton is huge for a fast guy (if that makes sense). Take a look at the bad angles that defenders consistently take on him. It's hard to figure out that he is that fast. The only other guy that I've seen in the SEC that was similar was Matt Jones at Arky, and he couldn't throw the ball.PS Anyone that thinks Mark Ingram is overrated has been smoking something. He's the total package physically, emotionally, and mentally. Some team will be lucky to have him. Long term fantasy top-10 running back.

Newton = Jamarcus Russell

Or did you mean just a comparison of physician skills?

Whoever pays this guy is going to be in for an interesting experience.

^^This^^Cam's record speaks for itself:Burglary/TheftAcademic fraud/cheating12 traffic tickets in less than a year in GainesvillePimp daddy $$$$$$Google Cam Newton webcam girlThe biggest question about Cam's draft stock may just be what comes out between now and the NFL draft. He seems to be the epitome of an entitled spoiled athlete.But as a football player, his combination of size and speed is without precedent.

I worded it wrong, i meant not big ben type mobile.

Noticed some comparisons on Yahoo as part of their Senior Bowl coverage.

WR:

Hankerson = Robiskie

Titus = Wallace

QB:

Locker = McNabb

Ponder = Gannon

RB:

Murray = Reggie Bush

Hunter = Choice

The Robiskie comparison seems particularly brutal. Especially since it's the only real negative one. Is there any legit concern here to reign in the Hankerson hype bus?

Did they reverse the comparisons for the RBs? Murray has 30 lbs on Reggie and isn't nearly as elusive. Hunter is 20lbs lighter than Choice, and doesn't share a lot of attributes with him. Assuming they are switched, I still don't really like the comparison for Hunter. He runs with much more power than Bush ever showed. Watching Titus, I didn't get a Mike Wallace vibe out of him. Wallace is so amazingly fast, I don't like the comparison.

Cameron Newton - Tim Tebow (closest)

Ryan Mallet - Drew Bledsoe

Mark Ingram - Emmitt Smith

Ryan Williams - Clinton Portis

Mikel LeShoure - Arian Foster

Demarco Murray - Felix Jones

A.J. Green -

Julio Jones - Between TO and Plaxico

Titus Young - DeSean Jackson

Jerrell Jernigan - Percy Harvin

There is no way D murray runs as fast as felix. Im guessing he will be lucky to break a 4.6 forty. Felix is a 4.4 guy

Good point. But they are both play-making slashers with balance issues.

I actually made this comparison in another thread. I think Ponder will actually be the BEST QB OUT OF THIS CLASS!!!!! and can probably be had in the third round
