Ben Jarvus Green Ellis, did you see what I posted about this guy? You do know Ben WENT undrafted, correct? He's worthless. Why would you not want to draft Slaton? But you would draft Ellis?I don't see how or where Torain is viewed as a consensus top back. I have Hart ranked above Felix Jones, Charles, and Torain. After those 4 I have Hester, Parmele, Forsett, and Choice all lumped together on the same tier with Xavier Omon and Ben Jarvus Green Ellis.Hightower's a notch below, I'm unimpressed with his talent but his situation is favorable.I am not drafting Slaton anywhere.
With all the ignore lists you've made, I think you can assume the answer to this question is "No" from now on.HTHI answered Choice.Ben Jarvus Green Ellis, did you see what I posted about this guy?
No, I did not see what you posted about Ellis, it'd have to be pretty convincing to alter my opinion of him. I think he'll be given the opportunity to take Sammy Morris' role in 09. Where a guy was drafted doesn't mean too much to me, I did not rank Chris Henry on any of my cheat sheets last year and he was a 2nd round pick...on the other end of the spectrum Ahmad Bradshaw was drafted in the 7th round and he was a target of mine in my rookie drafts. Yea, you have to figure a guy who fell deep into the 2nd day or went undrafted may not get much of an opportunity but when I draft for a dyno league talent trumps opportunity and it's not really that close. Slaton's fantasy ceiling is very low (CoP/3DRB max) and I don't think he's good enough to even do that. If he's anything more than a returner by 010 I'll be surprised.Ben Jarvus Green Ellis, did you see what I posted about this guy? You do know Ben WENT undrafted, correct? He's worthless. Good. After watching video of all of these I like Slaton best long term. The more people who don't like him the better.I don't see how or where Torain is viewed as a consensus top back. Why? because Felix was a round 1 pick? He's a HUGE risk. He's never ran in a traditional offense and has fiended on misdirection and DMC getting the defenses attention. That and for a pereceived "speed back" his measured times were not that fast. His short term value's probably higher than I'm giving him credit for, but like Slaton I believe his ceiling is too low for dyno purposes. Unlike Slaton I think Jones has a chance to succeed, but I'm not willing to take that risk...at least not where he's being drafted.switz said:As for the guy who had some of these players above Jones? Instead of being a tool, and posting to my answer here. Why can't you post my question to you in other post. You have all these rankings all over the place, WHY to say 'Yep I was right'. Well it didn't work for me. So put me on ignore.ThanksAndy Dufresne said:With all the ignore lists you've made, I think you can assume the answer to this question is "No" from now on.HTHI answered Choice.Maroney=Speed said:Ben Jarvus Green Ellis, did you see what I posted about this guy?
I like Felix long, long, long before the draft as one of the top RBs in this class.I'm not going to get into your view of his college production, except to say that he ran often without McFadden on the field, and was equally as productive. So I'm not sure your view of his college production is quite accurate. Why? because Felix was a round 1 pick? He's a HUGE risk. I don't have exact numbers with me, I'm going based off what my eyes saw and what I wrote in my notes. He was not on the field all the time with DMC, but I think saying he was on the field without DMC often is not accurate, that or our definitions of often are not the same.Felix lined up in the slot, he lined as a dual threat in the backfield, he was alone sometimes; I didn't see one happen more than the other in the games I watched. What I did see was him not getting many off tackle or up the gut plays, I saw a lot of misdirection and huge holes for him to run through. He won't have that luxury in the NFL. I think he could be well utilized in a role that gets him the ball in space 5-7 plays/game (screens, draws) and in the return game, but more than that? I'm not sold.I like Felix long, long, long before the draft as one of the top RBs in this class.

Fair enough. I've watched a TON of film on Jones. Often means 'many times, or in many cases.' It implies numerous repetitions and regular occurrence. Of his 133 attempts last year, 92 were in a single back set. Some of those were with McFadden at QB though. But still, at least 1/3 of his carries were in single back sets with **** at QB. Of course that also means about 1/3 were gimmick plays. The issue isn't whether he had a large number of off tackle, or up the gut plays, rather what he did when he had those opportunities. When given those opportunities, he was still extremely successful. So there's no reason to doubt he could be successful at it. It's not like the ONLY time he had success was on end-arounds, or sweeps, or on misdirection plays. The reason his YPC was so high is because he was successful on a high number of times he touched the ball.I don't have exact numbers with me, I'm going based off what my eyes saw and what I wrote in my notes. I'd rather take a guy who I believe can be effective between the tackles and catching the ball who I think is just as great of a risk (albeit a different type of risk) but will come several rounds cheaper.
