Michael Carter - I mean , who else is going to run the ball for NYJ?
Sooooo much hype...I think the opposing coach compared him to Barry Sanders or something crazy like that if memory serves.
Along the same lines, 7th round draft pick Garrid Doaks of the Dolphins. He's fighting for a roster spot, but his competition for short yardage power back is Malcom Brown. 5 ft 11 inches, 228 pounds with a 39.5 inch vertical. It's a longshot. His fame is a pre-draft tweet "if you don't want your QB hit, draft me."Going with Javian Hawkins. He’s likely to get a good workload being UDFA and he’s got the weakest depth chart to climb.
I'm going with Justin Fields.
That's my thought too. As a Bears fan, I hope so. Reports from camp just seem to get better and better.I'm going with Justin Fields.
And when it's someone else you can just deny you said Fields. MAGICI'm going with Justin Fields.
I don't even need to click the link to know what play that isBobbyLayne said:
It's only been one series but Javonte Williams immediately looked great out there.
Justin Fields forever, too.<Trey Lance has entered the chat>
There has been a lot of hype for Michael Carter though....Ty Johnson of the NY Jets. If you're not considering him late, you should be. Still think the Jets bring in a RB off the street, but he looks like Philip Lindsay out there.
Yes, there has been. I understand that. But every year, fantasy misses a back or two and anoints a fourth or fifth-rounder king when he's not. And Ty Johnson was out the with the ones last night, gaining plenty of yards. Carter and he alternated. Johnson is worth a flyer really, really late if you're drafting Carter. There has been a lot of hype for Michael Carter though....
I'll leave Ty Johnson for you. Enjoy.Yes, there has been. I understand that. But every year, fantasy misses a back or two and anoints a fourth or fifth-rounder king when he's not. That's not to contradict you, I'm just saying to watch for that. Figured this was the place for that.
Ty definitely looked good last year before Gase for some reason started giving the ball to Adams (who admittedly ran well). I figured Carter being a Saleh pick would give him the leg up, and may very well in the end, but this may be a fluid backfield with Carter/Ty/Coleman/Perine unless one guy emerges.Ty Johnson of the NY Jets. My comment was more directed towards your comment about the Jets signing a RB off the street. Carter is getting a lot of hype and you like the way Johnson looks, so would they sign a guy off the street just to have some veteran depth?Yes, there has been. I understand that. It's definitely not Carter's backfield yet. I happen, as a guy who likes to watch RBs, think Johnson ran hotter and better last night. How far that carries him, or whether or not he is durable at all, remains the question. Carter looked decent, too, though he left some yards on the field in my estimation.Ty definitely looked good last year before Gase for some reason started giving the ball to Adams (who admittedly ran well). "I think they sign somebody really athletic off the street," was my original thought as we entered camp. Now I'm not so sure. But watch for that. But not an old retread. A younger guy.My comment was more directed towards your comment about the Jets signing a RB off the street. I agree on Ty, but OP said rookiesTy Johnson of the NY Jets. If you're not considering him late, you should be. Still think the Jets bring in a RB off the street, but he looks like Philip Lindsay out there.
Oh wow. Thank you very much. Rookies. ####. My bad. And your analysis is exactly what I'm thinking. He looks the Shanny part in that wide zone scheme.I agree on Ty, but OP said rookies![]()
Johnson has wheels. If the offense resembles the Shannahan offense of recent years, he's the one that looks most like Raheem Monsters. I'm not super confident he wins the job or avoids a messy rbbc, but his chances are better than the ADP gap between him and Carter would suggest.
Trey Sermon could get overhyped if the twos play longer than the ones.
I could totally see a scenario where Sermon looks great with the 2s and maybe busts a big run.
Meanwhile Mostert will be kept in bubble wrap until the regular season.
Fallout: sermon’s ADP climbs last Mostert in redraft.
IMO that would be foolish, but I could totally see this happening.
Same. and mock drafts, he’s going The seventh and eighth rounds. That’s just stealing. Silly value for a running back who could take it to the house on any play.Good post. I'm going to have to keep a close eye on Mostert in my redrafts...
Just remember, the self-described steel of the draft Ontario Smith got caught with a wizzinator at the airport.BobbyLayne said:
