White Sox 2011 Baseball (2 Viewers)

It's time to take the child's toy away

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/breaking/cbsports-guillen-ejected-in-first-inning-20110427,0,3222603.story

NEW YORK -- Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen got his first ejection of the season that could be costly.

After getting tossed by home plate umpire Todd Tichenor after the top of the first inning, Guillen tweeted later, "This one going to cost me a lot money this is patetic (sic)."

Guillen was tossed from the dugout after Paul Konerko quickly protested a called third stike on a pitch he thought was low.

After getting ejected, Guillen was yelling and pointing in the face of Tichenor, who stood calmly. Umpire crew chief Gerry Davis walked from first base to try to calm the situation, although Guillen continued to point in Tichenor's face.

As Mark Buehrle threw his warmup pitches, Tichenor squatted behind catcher A.J. Pierzynski at home plate with his mask on, with Guillen yelling in Tichenor's ear.

This marked the first ejection of the season and the 26th of Guillen's career.

Guillen tweeted later: "Today a tough guy show up a yankee stadium."

Just when you think the team has something to build on by winning two close games against the Yanks.....this happens. Can't we just waive Pena?? He's ####### worthless.

If they come home and lose this series to Balt, I might be done for the year.

The tough guy just showed up again.

going for 100 L's this season. It's a darn shame Kenny went all in. The cupboard is bare and cell will soon follow. Good seats will be available on the cheap.

LOL at the latest train wreck from super boy Kenny Williams...
Go away.
Nicely played. It feels good to know that I was right all along about this fraud of a GM and now that the Cubbie bandwagon jumpers have infiltrated the club- the club is now sinking to Cubbie like depths. All hail the mighty agressive gambling Kenny Williams. Not to worry- Jake Peavy and Adam Dunn will pull the team out of the toilet very soon. Its still early and as far as we know- the coaches and players have not gotten any dumber. Amazingly funny stuff...

Still expect this team to win now that my Twins rolled over and died like the yellow-bellied cowards that they are. Go White Sox.

The guy won a World Series and heading into this year they've played around .540 ball over his tenure.8 seasons over .500 (which includes 3 90 or more win seasons)1 season at .5002 losing seasons.3 AL Central Pennants1 AL Pennant1 WS ChampionshipThat's the breakdown of his 11 years. Does this look like a fraud to anyone else? Anyone? To me it looks like the most successful GM in the history of Chicago baseball. Damn shame his skin color keeps you from realizing that. And I'm going to guess that you won't be around in 103 years to see if they sink to 'Cubbie like depths'

Over those 11 years, these are the teams that have 2 or less seasons under .500.

NYY - 0

BOS - 0

LAD - 1

STL - 1

CHW - 2

ATL - 2

MIN - 2

PHI - 2

Looks like some pretty elite company to me.

You know how many of these teams have had the same GM over those same 11 years?

2. Him and Brain Cashman.

All in the past. Winning 1 WS 5 years ago now accounts for entitlements? That is the laughable aspect of this train wreck. When listening to an interview recently, an LA reporter that covers professional sports made an important point about how the media in Chicago loves to sing the praises of accomplishments but they are very silent when it comes to the subject of winning titles and championships. Where is the hardware? No one remembers fourth place. In ten, twenty years we will all remember the 2005 Kenny Williams WS team but he will never bring a championship team to Chicago again. Based on the sea of empty seats and the loud booing at the "Cell" it is clear to me that the fans know that this mess is beyond fraudulent. Last week- we heard the sports media in Chicago talk about being patient and now we are hearing about people being fired. There is no accountability with the failures and the sycophantic meanderings that come from folks that defend a GM that has made one blunder after another leading to the eventual demise of the club. This is by far the lousiest Sox team I have seen in a very long time and no matter how hard you spin it buddy boy, no matter how many years or posts, no matter how you continue to pull the pathetic race card the facts remain the same- GM Kenny is and will always be a one trick pony...

I think we all need meds to explain this:Your 2011 "All In" Chicago White Sox:10-19 with a .345 W/L Percantage that is good for being second from last place in all of MLB 10 games out of first place after one month of baseball4-9 home recored and currently suffering thru a second 5 game plus losing streak5th largest payroll in MLB21st in attendance following teams like the Twins and Detroit. However, the Tribe is last in the league so there is a ray of sunshine21st team hitting average25th team ERA30th team saves with a whopping 3 saves on the season18th in fielding percentage and 10th overall within the errors catThese are facts and these are my own conclusions:Gordon Beckham and Alex Rios are vastly overrated playersAJ cannot throw runners outJuan Pierre and Omar Vizquel are proving to be players on the declineThird base is a large voidThe team cannot hit in the cold and they cannot hit unkown pitchersThey seem to have a hard time playing teams in the AL East and they certainly seem to take a drubbing from the likes of teams like the A's and the Rangers year after yearEdwin Jackson is badJohn Danks cannot put on the big boy pants and the same holds true for Gavin FloydMark Buehrle is really on the decline but has the ability to toss a gem at timesJake Peavy was a major mistakeAdam Dunn and Paulie are going to hit for power when it no longer matters but Paulie has really played very wellAlexi Ramirez is probably the best player on the teamOzzie will not see August or even July if this keeps goingBrent Morel is not ready for MLB pitchingGoing into the season with no plan for the bullpen (other than to sort it out as the weeks go by) was a major mistake. There is some talent there but the damage has been done. Thorton might as well be selling peanuts in the bleachers but he might have to fend for his life with the real Sox fans out there. All in all, it looks quite miserable for 2011 and it is only May 2nd. Can they turn it around? Not looking good...

and you forgot to add that the bullpen and the Matt Thorton experiment was the beginning of the fall

Juan Pierre

April 2010

.193/.260/.193

April 2011

.243/.286/.270

I'll pass judgment on Juan Pierre after May is done. Spotlight's on him because of the defensive lapses, doesn't mean he's declining.

I'm sure Kenny was supposed to know that Jake Peavy would suffer an injury that no other player in the history of baseball has suffered.

Let's blame him for that.

Agreed- I was looking at his overall play and not just focusing in on the errors that cost them two games.

Buerhle with a damn good outing tonight just when they needed it.

Rios and Pauly with jacks tonight. However, another bases loaded, 1 out situation and all they got out of it was a sac fly from Pauly.

Really need to start producing more than that in those situations.

I'd like to move on from being excited after winning just one game, to actually being excited about winning a series or two.

A nice start- great catch by JP and Paulie is just playing so well. If Rios can get his mojo going maybe the rest of the lineup will catch fire. Sale? He looks lost up there.

Please sweep the Twins!!!!
