White Sox 2011 Baseball (1 Viewer)

:applause:

Don't care what team it is, Clayton Richard had to go up against an ace in King Felix tonight and got the best of him. Six solid innings, no runs given up, and most importantly, a W.

If he and/or Broadway can put a string of Quality Starts over the next 6 weeks, the Sox are going to tough to beat.

watched the game last night and there were a lot of ropes hit by the M's luckily they were hit right at us. Then again the Sox hit some shots and they were right at the spectators. Thome and Swish it gone. Looking for the brooms today, a day off and then put the Rays to rest. Time to put some space between us and the Twinkies. :sadbanana:

that's what I'm here for.

sox are playing great ball......these are games they should win.

Problem is, MIN keeps winning too.

You can put it on the board.............YES!!!!! Now it's time to see what the Rays are really made of, a sweep this weekend for the good guys would be nice. The twinkies are on their way to diseny land to play the la la angels of anaheim north of irvine but not quite fullerton or something like that. Their next 14 are away from the baggie dome.

1 @ Det (L)4 @ Minnesota (L,L,W,L)3 @ KC (W,L,L)3 vs. Det (W,W,L)4 vs. Bos (W,L,W,L)3 vs. KC (W,W,W)3 @ Oak (L,W,W)3 vs. Seattle (W,W,W)3 vs. TB (2)4 vs. Balt (3)3 @ Bos (1)3 @ Clev (1)3 vs. LAA (2)4 vs. Tor (3)3 vs. Det (2)4 @ NYY (2)3 @ KC (2)3 @ Minn (1)3 vs. Clev (3)
14-10 so far... tough schedule remaining. I think they go 22-14. Good enough? We'll see.

WOW, what a 2nd inning.

A walk and then a bloop double, 2 runners on NO OUTS.

Guy dribbles one up the line and Danks picks it barehanded and dives to tag out Baldelli.

Next guy flies out to short LF, Q comes up throwing and guns him at the plate.

Unreal.

 Whoops.

Is this the beginning of the end? TB showing a lot of fight, down both nights to rally back.

Sox bullpen continues to blow. Dotel didn't even come in today.

Getting swept this weekend could really put a damper on things.

someone should tell them the series against teams like KC, Oak and Seattle is over. It's time to put up and come to play or pack your bags and call it quits. This team pisses me off. bull #### :wall: :wall:

AssJole #####inski is a dooochebag. What a cheap f'in win. Those umpires should wear kneepads if they're going to go down on their knees to blow a game that badly.

I like this kind of reaction. I have always thought of you as a very cerebral fan who saw the black and white when everyone else was seeing the chick in the stands with the orange shirt and the boob job. FWIW I'm glad you can enjoy your team being so good, not sure if they can get the key hits in the playoffs this year but they certainly could win some great 2-1 playoff games. Update: For the record once again, I predicted the White Sox would be good this year. I really can't root for the Twins to win the division either* even if I hate the Sux more. Seems like both deserve to be in the playoffs and actually if they are both in and so are the Devil Rays, that might be ok. I'll root for an Angels/Rays ALCS and all is well. *Mostly due to Hack, Limpy, and Green 94. Otherwise Sux can go 0-162 and I'd think it was hilarious.

Man, I have no idea how I'm going to handle a playoff series. Sometimes I think it was easier to watch the Rays when they sucked because I didn't stress out this much. I'm too wrapped up in every single game now to act rationally  You have to love the crew chief's explanation after the game:

“As a runner, you’re allowed to do that. What Doug ruled at second base was, even though A.J. did kind of stick his arm out to make contact, Aybar was still in his way, so A.J., if he would have turned, he wouldn’t have been able to continue on to third. So after making the throw, Aybar is no longer in the act of fielding and he can’t obstruct the runner, which is what Doug ruled happened. And in a rundown, even though A.J. was going back to second, the rule of obstruction during a rundown is he gets his next advanced base and that’s why he was rewarded third base.”

“If Aybar’s got the ball, there’s no obstruction, You protect the fielder when he’s in the act of fielding. Once that ball’s released and out of his hand, he has to vacate.”
Um, idiot, if he didn't stick his arm out there to INITIATE the contact, the contact never would have happened as Aybar was clearly moving out to the left to vacate. He threw the ball and peeled out left. AJ threw his arm out into Aybar as he was peeling out left and Divac'd it. Eddings fell for his BS in 2005 and did it again today.

Even if you are a diehard White Sox fan, I have to imagine you hate Pierzynski also. Guy's a HUGE ****.
Nah, guy plays hard, albeit too hard at times, can rake, and quite simply, is a gamer. He is the type that is only loved by fans of the team he plays for...The umps know he tries to cross the line at time, if they can't catch his bs, so be it...

:goodposting: It was a good play by AJ, hate the umps not the playerWhite Sox fans must like AJ better than Rays fans like B.J. Upton right now. To me Upton is 10x the ##### that A.J. is in the way he plays the game.

Gotta hate those guys.

Umps blew the call, no doubt.

But blame your catcher for not making the play in the 9th, and blame BJ Upton for jogging to the fly ball in CF and lobbing it back in, allowing AJ to tag up from first.

AJ is a huge ##### and I would hate the guy if he wasn't on the White Sox, but he is, so you gotta love him because he plays hard every game and will do anything to win.

AJ is the kid growing up that always got out of everything. And no matter how stupid the activity was he never got caught. We all had a friend like this where depending on the moment he was either your best buddy or your hated rival. Enough of AJ, lets go on to Baltimore and get those bats going again. Ozzie please don't pitch DOTEL..............

I really don't care what most people think of AJ, that type of thinking is simply brilliant...getting caught in the run-down was bad, but man, there 'aint more than a few players in baseball who can think as fast as AJ/have the balls to try something like that. He is a natural with the media, and it is quite funny that so many fans of opposing teams/actual opposing team absolutely despise the guy...he'll be an excellent big-league manager some day, of this I'm almost certain.

From the wsi.com, from a poster named UofCSoxfan...

"I honestly think he is already there (excluding Sox fans of course). I really don't get it.

He gets boo'd at Wrigley because Michael Barrett sucker punched him in the face.

He gets boo'd in Minnesota because he got traded to the Giants and provided Nathan, Bonser, and Liriano in return, basically make the Twins 5 to 10 wins better per year.

He gets boo'd in Anaheim because he forced the umpire to make a call, which said umpire may or may not have gotten right (I think the ball probably didn't hit the ground but still am not 100% sure).

He'll get boo'd in TB because he made a heads up play (when in a run down you always try to make contact with the fielder...unfortunately they usually are too smart to cooperate).

He get's boo'd pretty much everywhere else he goes for no real reason. For some of our rivals in the division, perhaps they boo just because he is one of the more recognizeable White Sox players and is a lightning rod, but I have no idea why he gets boo'd at places like Seattle.

The only fans that could have a gripe against A.J. would be Giants fans, since he gave them very litte in production and cost them two major studs and a third major league pitcher. Still, it's not A.J.'s fault the SF GM is an idiot.

Whatever. The fact that a lot of fan bases hate A.J. and we have embraced him makes it more likely that he'll end his career in Chicago....which is great by me."
