White Sox 2011 Baseball (1 Viewer)

Well yea...Cabrera shouldn't be hitting there either.

I don't watch a lot of White Sox baseball (I'd rather be attacked by locusts then listen to that god-awful announcer) but I found it odd that Ozzie hits his weak OBP guys up front and then hides Swisher 8th, or at least he did this weekend. And this guy has openly wondered why his team can't score consistent runs? Christ, he should have Swisher hitting 1 or 2.

:thumbup:That's what I'm saying, Alexei is clearly the best option they have right now.Swish hit up in the lineup to begin the year and he was terrible.

Alexei is simply amazing...what a find...wicked hands...plays the game with the same joy we all did in little league...will be a real-life/fantasy stud at the SS position for the next 5 years...

Did that AJ foul ball hit the warehouse? 500 feet isn't a stretch, what a moonshot...

I love Alexei leading off in the second game. Wish Ozzie would do this more.
Why? He has a terrible on-base percentage.
I love when an occasional fan throws in their 2 cents. The missile is still very raw but in due time he may be one of the most profilic and complete player for the Sox. He bats either 7 or 8 right ahead of the free swinging Juan Uribe. His OBP is low becuase he doesn't take many walks but his slugging and avg is unheard of these days for someone at the bottom of the order. And for all you doubters he bats leadoff and goes 4 for 5 and plays short (his position in the future). The things he can do with the glove, oh my. I think Kenny found a diamond in the rough along with Q. Now if we can get someone to work on his base stealing we may have a true lead-off man. Is Raines still with the organization?

:D   @ calling Cappy an "occasional" fan

Alexi has batted more in the 8th and 9th hole, than any other place in the lineup.

If Alexi could ever learn to take a walk(10 in 366 AB's), he would be the everyday leadoff hitter.

Kid reminds me a lot of Soriano.

need to complete the sweep tonight and hope the M's do the same. Then on to Boston and Cleveland (what has gotten into the Tribe?). Like to build a 5 game cushion before the Twinkies return home, outside of them having to go to Tampa their schedule is pretty soft. Sounds like Linebrink will be back next week. Please no more Dotel!!!! Any update on Swish's foot?

Gavin Floyd :lmao: The guy is leading me to a FBB title. Floyd was lsited as a relief pitcher this year so I play him out of the bullpen.

What is wrong with Liz from the Orioles? His stats suggest he is horrible, but his stuff is top of the line...oh well...

Even if you are a diehard White Sox fan, I have to imagine you hate Pierzynski also. Guy's a HUGE ****.
Nah, guy plays hard, albeit too hard at times, can rake, and quite simply, is a gamer. He is the type that is only loved by fans of the team he plays for...The umps know he tries to cross the line at time, if they can't catch his bs, so be it...
:lmao: It was a good play by AJ, hate the umps not the player
Um, no it wasn't a good play......just a bad call
Mike Port, MLB's vice president of umpiring, told the St. Petersburg Times on Thursday that it was "a missed call" and that in making the split-second decision, Eddings thought he saw runner A.J. Pierzynski "impeded more than he was" by Aybar, the Rays' third baseman.

"Looking back at that occurrence, for the first and last time, it was a missed call," Port said. "And it was not because Doug Eddings, an umpire with 10 years' experience and 10 before that in the minor leagues, didn't know the application of the rule, but just that in the moment in applying the rule, he saw something he thought was more than it turned out to be."
linkI do find it interesting that AJ is always in the middle of the ####ed up freak plays.

No #### Cubbie, we all know it was a bull#### play. I think he was more talking in terms of AJ making something of the play instead of running into an out.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: huh? He did run himself into an out, only to be let off the hook by a bad call. I don't call that making something out of a ####### mistake, I call it luck.

Wasn't this last week?OF COURSE getting caught in the rundown is a bad play. Once he was in the rundown, putting out his elbow and acting like there was interference was a GOOD PLAY. It was lucky to get a bad call, but hustling and quick thinking led to that luck, where as giving himself up would have 100 percent led him to an out.

I can't believe I have to explain this to you.

Yes, it was last week. But just recently MLB came out and said they screwed up(see quoted part)Was it the quick thinking, and hustle that got him in the rundown in the first place?

Don't know if your serious but...NO, like I said getting caught in the rundown is a bad play. Noone disputes that.

Man, I feel bad for Quentin. I'm a Cubs fan, but that really sucks. What a bonehanded move. If the Sox falter in his absence, he's never gonna live this down.

In before Power Monster calls the season a failure and blames everything on Kenny Williams
You%re saying it%s not?
I would not that this season is a failure. They exceeded my expectations by far. If you have told me the Sox would be in first In September, I would not have believed it.CQ going down is a huge blow. Nicky Swish will have to play left, with Konerko at 1st and Thome at DH. As long as Junior stays on the bench they might be all right. Let%s see what this teamm is made of.

Q done for the year. Oh well, at least they exceeded expectations.
You know my feelings on the White Sux but I hate when stuff like this happens to any player on any team at this point in the season. I said on a Tigers forum a week ago that the WS would go to the WS because they have the right elements to make them a tough match-up for any opponent and I couldn't say that about any of the other teams. Losing Contreras is one thing, losing Quentin is quite another. They need Swisher to start playing like they thought he could play.

I actually thought they were the worst of the five AL contenders before the CQ injury. Not piling on or anything, just curious how you would see them beating Boston or Tampa in the first round, and then either the other or LA in the ALCS.

Because they have good pitching and they hit a lot of HRs along with being a team with a great homefield advantage. It's not a knock against the other teams and I'm not saying the White Sox are better on a spreadsheet, but I think they are a tough match-up. I could see them winning a lot of 3-2 or 4-3 games on a couple of HRs and being solid everywhere else. I'd love to be wrong though.

Not a shock, but add Crede to the list

Manager Ozzie Guillen said Friday that he expects Joe Crede to miss the rest of the season.Crede was forced to leave Tuesday's game after his back injury flared up. "I don't expect him to be back anytime soon," Guillen said. "Joe is not going to be with us, and I don't expect him to be back [this] season." Juan Uribe should continue to fill in nicely.
